That’s a tough spot,  financially tied because he is the owner, emotionally tied from friendship, and physical tied because you are a willing to help type of person.  Look to the lord for guidance

^ this. And a thorough review of liability insurance policies. Just because he’s in a personal vehicle doesn’t mean that the lawyers for the people he hits won’t come after the farm. Lawyers chase the money. Feel for you Jon. That’s a tough spot. He may not care about himself but he’s dragging you and your brother in it.

Got back to work on my daughter's out house today. Glued some speaker box carpet down. Each wall is close to 180lbs so I'm always relying on someone to come over and help move them around every time.
The second pic is one of the 4 exterior doors we hung Saturday. It was 3 inches shorter than what was ordered, and the outward swing made it interesting....was supposed to go in before stucco but HD was 2 weeks late on delivery.
... thanks for the tips Jared!

Caught a big coon in the backyard. Tired of em tearing up the grass and eating the cat food.

Had a heck of a time putting it down with a 22 pellet rifle (900fps). Skulls are to hard as a rock.

Shooting through an empty milk jug works pretty good too!  Those are still legal aren’t they, or do you only get glass now in Libtardifornia?

A suppressor is a suppressor, not an option in Comiland. Pellet gun is suppressed, some loophole as in not a firearm.

Just surprised behind the noggin didn't just end it.

I dusted off my tool belt today to go work with they guy who I want to build (contractor) my house
All went well for being out of that game for ten years or so.   Humpin 5/8ths flooring up onto a six foot tall floor height all morning kicked my A$$. Sheeted a 2800sq Floor, framed half the 2x6 walls so the group can stand them tomorrow in the coming snow storm.

That sucker was 16lbs. Not sure as regular sizes go but for a city coon it was good.

I got an invite to the 2108 shot show. In my bucket for sure. Never been but not sure if I can work out the kid details as they are back in school then.

So we had our rec centre under remodel this fall.
Totally closed, total redo.

Here was a large fire in it last week.
Huge damage, huge loss, setback mostly.
No one was hurt, just a big community loss.

We've been flooding an outdoor rink for the past 10 odd days.
It's coming, and should be ready for the weekend. We hope.

This had no impact on my joining the fire dept.

Today, fire call...at the rec centre...
Of course with Christmas upon us, the contractors are all gone.

Forcable entry 101 for the other firefighter.
He just wanted to smash his way in.
Showed him the ways of the Halligan.
The wood door we gained access through is still locked.
The metal frames in cinder blocks all will see another day.

Now the weird part.
Fire call came from call centre. Makes sense.
We went to all three fire panels, not one has power...
Not odd, given the mains are still out from the fire, awaiting blessings to restore, which may be a long time.
How an unpowered system sent in a smoke alarm to a remote call centre is the part we're all struggling with. Hopefully this is not going to be a thing over Christmas. I plan on peace and quiet at he cabin, not humping an SCBA and tools through a construction site.

I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

If I were to guess yeah.
The panel batteries however are long dead, so it's gotta be from the head itself.

Yikes Dave! Is that on the Cali coast or something!

I lost a customer a couple days ago because he thought that I should meet him on my day off, so he could drop his car off. I said some things, he said some things, then the call ended.
Decided it was time to build a key drop.
First grabbed some thick wall 4x4. Cut a small hole in the top, front, then a hinged door on the back. Then add some theft proof (hopefully) ramps inside. Threw it in the ground, and now I might not lose the next customer.

Good job ken. Knowing how creative thieves are in might consider a couple of elephant poles in front to keep them from backing over it and the fence to get the keys.

Good idea on the key drop.

Dave, that is pricey even with a view. Is it a corner lot or is that the camera.

Ken, key drops might be ok for early morning drop off, but why would someone want to leave a rig parked in front of a repair shop for a weekend or even overnight? If  broken into, the owner would sue you for not having a secured drop off area. I think you didn't need that customer anyway.

Key drop is a good idea, you probably should throw out a disclaimer sticker on that drop though just so they know you're not liable if something happens (I'm guessing you don't live in that type of area but you never know). As you most likely know you didn't lose a good customer over not having the drop........

It’s I phones panorama photo option.  It lets you stand in one location and turn one direction holding the camera steady as possible,  if you follow the curb it might help,

It’s not a corner lot. There is 12 lots available and I would like one of them except the drive up the Mt is a lot in the snowy season.

There was a area like that near Reno I was looking at. Wild horses, great view, big lots. Then I read about the HOA and the drive up/down in the winter would be a nightmare!

They got ten inches of snow today and my truck did fine up and down but I am not sure how the daughters car would fare. I really love the view.   You can see almost 70 miles west to the great salt lake and 100+ to the south.  Salt Lake City.

Snagged a nifty little truck camper from a neighbor today. It did leak but not much. I only found one small soft spot in the ceiling and needs a little work on the door.  Other than that it should be good. Plumbing and everything is suppose to work and the floor is solid. Not too bad for a $100. I want to put it on the 82 Chevy but its only a half ton. I don't thank that will handle it very well. Especially with that 6.2 diesel 700r4 trans and 3:08 gears. It has enough trouble pulling its self sometimes.

Im looking for a semi to license as an RV to pull my 5th wheel with. If they give me slack at the DMV I can always "permanently" mount this on the truck. There you go. Its an RV now.

Jon, I did that once in Indiana had an international crew cab 26k gvw straight truck 1991 I think & we put an old slide on truck camper on it. All we had to do there was have a cop come out & inspect it then viola it was able to be titled as an RV.......

Points taken fellers. It should be handier for the people that have to be to work earlier than I'm open.
Not a good neighborhood for sure, that's why it's on the inside of the fence, and 2-1/2 feet in  concrete. Three Rotties will look after it, and the outside of it is where people will park. You're also right in that I don't need guys like that anyway, and that was part of our conversation. lol

Guess the fire is gone. I got a rechargeable hair trimmer, demo bar (asked for both) and some snacks.

Asked for a Lab, breakdown 10/22 and a Edge CST to which my wife laughed at (well the gun and dog anyway)

I guess her taking "paid" time off so I can go to the shot show is my big one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hope you all had a good one!!!!!

Getting ready to take off to Kentucky. Its going to be at or below zero all the way across Iowa today. I am a little worried about my fass filters mounted down on the frame. I like my fuel filters under the hood where they have a little heat. They say it don't make any differance. I have 50/50 blended fuel and plenty of howes. I know we will be fine but I still worry about it.

We just got back from Disneyland in CA and let me tell you, security is BEEFED up. all patrons must use the metal detectors now and there are bag searches for everyone. Pass holders that usually got to breeze through security must now provide ID along with their annual passes to make sure they're not pulling Costco tricks and letting cousin Ricky us their cards. Anaheim PD working private security w/ explosive and drug dogs walk up and down the line of people waiting to go through security, similar to airport security lines, and there's a scissor lift security station/crow's nest posted just out of sight. saw several situations where security was heading in a different directly then about face to directly contact a "customer" that was definitely out of their line of sight, so they are working it for sure. My son and I were noticing how much sitting in line to get in though felt sort of "vegas" but once in we felt very safe.

hmm.   Thanks Tate.  I wonder if they'll let me through with a pocket knife?
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

No way no how. Don’t risk it. We have gone to Disney both CA and FL more than one family should, as we like to run their races they host.

Ask my wife about my thoughts on their security and lack of “freedom” love, rather hate is what is, and she will probably say something like, ‘oh man, don’t get him started.’

Radios, wouldn’t risk it either because of the time everything takes to and from the park and security.

We’ve learned that the easiest option is to attempt to carry nothing other than a phone and a wallet, maybe a water bottle. It is a giant pain in the hind end, particularly because the majority of the security are nothing more than a rent a cop with a badge and a power trip.

You’ll see Orange County sherriffs around, which I believe they end up handling the rough customers. I once asked how they got away with what they do, to a young and motivated deputy, his response was akin to a talking point written specifically for it, ‘it’s private property they can do what they want’

Honestly, I have a serious love hate relationship with disney, I mostly hate everything about them.... insane crowds, overbearing ‘security’, too much tracking via their magic bands, what I perceive as their discontent towards Christians and American values.... basically it is its own country that can get away with whatever they want, with little to no repercussions.

Oh and I’ve watched their security Increase since 2012. And always point out, while blades and guns will most likely be caught, other ingredients to inflict harm could easily be hidden in food products.

Rant off, sorry for the long post.

Shot Show, good news and bad.

Show is everything new and coming in the firearms industry. Open only to vendors and such, no regular public allowed. The new vendor waiting time is about 2 years out.

Bad news is because of that, I am now not going. Turns out they are coming down on non vendors getting in and now need to verify you are a vendor or employee, normally a couple pay stubs.

packed for Orlando tomorrow with the oldest daughter who will be performing in the halftime show.

Flying so I won't be carrying a firearm.

checking  a bag with a blade and a VHF/UHF radio and flashlight and small med kit.

Any suggestions?  Will be at Disney and Orlando on a packed schedule and at the stadium on Monday.

Any of you boys have first hand security intel, feel free to PM
Security layout at MCO sucks! You'll find out when you leave (though you've probably been there before).
