Looks nice. I have painted whole cars one side at a time outside the big door.
I'm debating quite seriously now a colour matched kit or two to do the rockers.
It would be a debadge demould and from the doorline down.
It shoots really easy and seems quite even, so it may happen to prolong the life of the panels some more.

I would have done it outside but there is rain in the forecast.

Had a watermelon going fast, tried the mojito recipe on the weekend, was a hit with mama and her bestie, thanks for that gem.

Tonight inbetween bumper follies, had some boring chicken wings.
Yeah, boring, salt and pepper and some Tabasco.
All of my hot sauces at cabin for summer. I start vacation tomorrow so everything must go occurred on the weekend. Dho!

Then after a whole bunch more sweat and hours, the area is starting to clean up, and my log pile is really expanding

You know if you bury those powere lines with a little work with say a D6 or 7, you might have a nice little airstrip there!
Oh no! Don't add to the already massive list.

But I must agree, you're absolutely right!

Then the rear was shot with its first coat. I set my flowing air pressure to 40 psi, and it shot well so that's where it stayed. I was able to get a good coat on the rear and a bit of the inside of the front done on the first bottle.

As I poured the hardener into my 250 ml measure, the white frost that immediately occurred tipped me to hurry. I thought, that ain't right, and quickly filled the cup and added it to the liner bottle.

As I shook it to mix, I realized my rush was indeed warranted.

Within 20-30 seconds the bottom of the cup melted out.

So here's the state of affairs as I sit for another 40 odd minutes.
I need to decide how I'm going to proceed from here, I may call the back 'done-ish' until I have the front done. Only have three more bottles, and don't want to sell the front short.

I've got to add, this stuff sprays really easy compared to paint!
Now, the orange Peel is part of this, and it doesn't seem to run either.

So here's why I'm at where I'm at.
Between all the rock chips and salt from winter the paint had to go.

I liked the colour match, but not the apparent upkeep.
Here's hoping the Rhino lives up to its reputation.

First up was disconnecting batteries from winch and unwiring.
Then removal from truck. I then took to it with a quick wash and scrub, then one of these stripper wheels. It made quick work of the paint filler and surface rust.

Then it was into garage for a wipe down and primer.

..just be prepared to have everything else in the garage coated unless it's covered up. That stuff can shoot quite a ways if the pressure is turned up.

So a few donor disposable tarps/poly is a good idea then.
I can open the door so I can get fresh air.
I was planning on it being messy, and Ken has confirmed it.

Thanks again, hope to have the rear done tonight.

I don't have a cherry picker at my disposal, so debating doing it inside garage.
Good idea or no?

Question for all y'all that have used Raptor Liner.

What did you use to clean the gun?

Was just going to get set up to shoot and yeah I read the instructions...
They are saying acetone to clean.
I don't currently have any.

But I do have:
Lacquer thinner
Toluene
And DuPont TX6712 gun wash (near as I can tell a paint thinner/cleaner)
10% acetone

Do I need acetone?

You need to either be more careful with the tractor, or start planning phase 2 of tractor protection body armor.  Clearly the entire engine should be wrapped with at least a tube frame and 1/2 inch plate!
Fixed it for ya.

And the JDs look way small.
Sarge almost looks small.

Don, think you need to use Sarge a bit more, less damage to the Deere's maybe.
But you're sure keeping the parts man in business.

So I came home at lunch to add a final coat of paint to a table and chairs mama picked up for the cabin.
I walked into the house and smelled pizza crust rising.
Mama is at the cabin for the summer now...
Rut-row...
I heard a funny noise in the kitchen last night but shrugged it off as the normal house sounds...

Walked up the stairs to a bit of a mess...and the funny sound made sense.

Exploded root beer!

So I cleaned that all up, and gingerly placed the remaining bottles in a sealed Rubbermaid and went back to work late.

Then inquiring minds wanted to know the bursting pressure of Grolsch beer bottles.

Turns out it's not real common, more often they slip the gasket at 70-80 psi. One site mentioned 260 psi as the bursting pressure.  :o
Not sure how accurate, but it also blew a two liter bottle as well. The others were like stone and ready to pop. I relieved them some and they should be fine.

Come home after work, to find two more blown up. So now I've carefully vented the rest. Had a couple slip he gaskets and spray root beer foam everywhere, but I'd gotten good at cleaning it up now.
Bottle shrapnel.

So one of two things caused it.
One, too much sugar, used bathroom scale instead of butcher scale, may be out at 4.5 lbs range.
Two, not enough head space for the CO2 to accumulate.
Not so sure about this root beer stuff now, never had this with real beer. Oh well.

Oh yeah, and mamas table and chairs are back together and done also.

Now that's a good find, as long as it is a spring and not just runoff the water source could very well be viable.

Well had a busy weekend.
Finally got my island trail cut to the crossover trail. Was about 500 odd yards to clean up. It is now passable with a quad so it's a good start. My buddy and a bush pilot worked from his end and we met in the middle or there abouts. A few more trees to knock down to make it right, but after four hours on a saw and being my own bush pilot I was done.

Then had to get to work on the third piece of dock. Water very low this year, and I need to keep my boat in water not beached. So started fabbing up the pole guides. Things are a bit slower at the cabin, but put my metal skill saw to good use again. It's the DeWalt 18 volt cordless one. Man does it cut well.

Did a bit of fishing over the weekend also, still very slow, need to find a different spot. I think the low water is wreaking havoc on the normal spot. Water level is about 5-6 feet low from normal.

No pics of any of it, so I know...it didn't happen.
I'll get some once I start the assembly.

I can guarantee that an option like this will be economical enough to pay for the tools to do it and be between he two prices you mentioned.
There are a lot of different styles, all including a few hundred bucks of metal and time.
I do like that as well.

It appears the only reason Sarge is still moving is the tracks in place of tires.
Some serious carnage.
The well may very well need a pump out and or cleaning depending on its flow.
With use it possible will be a self correcting issue.

« on: July 07, 2016, 10:51:44 AM »
Don't know a lot about what's in the picture.
There is a good chance I think that it may be an o-ring sealing inside that connector.
I have no idea how to get it apart, or if that is the case, but is my suspicion as to how it will be sealed.
I think the easiest way to find out would be to remove the tank end and pressure switch from the compressor so you can at least see eveything easier and work at it easier. May be an easy fix, or may be parts, don't know for sure.

I gotta agree with Shawn on all/most of his comments.
The concrete is really all that you likely need to contract out.
It's an art that some can do the things you want that we grunts and knuckleheads stare in awe at.
The rest, really shouldn't be that much of a stretch for you, especially if you recruit some help.

Here's the problem I see...
It's from a customer service sign I seen at one point.
We can do it good fast and cheap.
But you can only pick two.
If you want it good and fast, won't be cheap.
Fast and cheap, won't be good.
Good and cheap won't be fast.

Unfortunately this little 'joke' of a sign is so true.
So you'll have to have it all figured out.

And starting this conversation should bring up a lot of good discussion.

Yup, that will not be any kind of fun.

Well on my way home the truck hit this milestone.

Which equates to this in miles.

Not sure why, but always like capturing the big milestones for some reason. I think HH6 is surprised I've kept the truck this long. While I was out had the front end fixed up. 2 uppers and one lower bad, I had to do the outer tie rod ends before I left, don't think they would have made the trip. This is the second time that I've had to do front end work, so I'm quite happy with how it's holding up.

Tonight, mixed up a batch of home made root beer. Will know in 2-3 weeks how it turns out. My son will be home about then, and there's something about a root beer float...
Then we'll likely get into some other beer, but that's another story.

The kit made about 18 litres. Quite easy, 4.5 lbs sugar, 17 litres of water, the root beer mix and some wine yeast.

I've been running the Coleman extreme's with fairly good luck. I have three different ones, and all will make 4-7 days, but not as hot as you, more high 80's to mid 90's. It always depends on what is in them and how often opened. One summer, had 6 dozen lobster in one, shelled packed and frozen. Drove from east coast home, 7 or 8 days and it was all still solid once home. But it was not opened the whole time other than a frost check on day five.
The 7 day one is better than the 6 and 5, like one would thing should be he case, even though they appear to be the same there must be a difference somewhere in the foam.
