Lots to catch up on. Ken the only time you’ll be E4 is making an error at second base….lol

Been busy and just picked up a 2008 Tahoe with 60k on the clock. My FIL bought it new and rarely drove it. Only people to sit in the back seat were my kids when they visited 10yeara ago.

Ordered a mess of parts to flush fluids and change hoses and belts and shocks etc. will require some serious paint correction but plan to drive this as a beater back and forth to the ranch while the Bus is getting a rebuilt Duramax.

Oil still looks like it in the
Bottle. Going to reprogram the AFM and delete the speed limiter and will put some 20 inch Tahoe wheels on it.

Since it’s maroon and my youngest started at Texas A&M we now call this the Aggie Wagon

May have to start a build thread

Why did I not think to ask you about recommendations?  We did RPM Seafood and Chicago Cut Steakhouse and a couple of hole in the wall Italian places all down by the riverwalk.  I will definitely keep those on the list for next time.

We did the Navy Pier, Ferris wheel, art museum, trump tower, river tours, architectural tour, etc

I admire the democrats.   They suspend logic and reality in the pure pursuit of power leading to socialism.  They rarely break ranks and would (and did) vote in a vegetable to keep and gain power.

Don,  good times and thanks for sharing.

the area to the west of Jackson Hole as you head towards Teton has some great restaurants and places that are less touristy.  Grand Tetons are amazing too.

Orientation for the youngest at Texas A&M.  Man I love this place.  Such a rich history of military service, honor and discipline.  A great hall of flags and remembrance.  No qualms about enforcing the rules on campus.  Especially the no hat in the memorial hall and no walking on the grass.

Will fit my youngest well.  She is a no nonsense rule follower and remarkable self discipline.

T-minus 60 days to empty nest.

I fear it’s going to take a really bad outcome for the uniformed side to make them rethink.

Of course, it may have been that this man had some dirt on Ken’s girlfriend….

Awesome.  Don, as you know all too well.  Punching holes in paper standing in one spot is not a real contest.  Moving and shooting  is more realistic.  And nothing prepares you for when rounds are incoming.

Having never been there myself,  I have heard stories of “excellent marksmen” who can’t hack it when the rounds start coming in.  You just have to hope the training overrides fear.

As for me, nothing exciting today other than negotiating high dollar deals.  No risk of bodily injury…just dealing with egos.

Great opening salvo there chief.

First, trump falsified nothing and was guilty of nothing of which they fabricated charges for.  He was a darling of the left until he became a conservative and now it’s their sworn duty to destroy him.  You of all people should know that the military industrial complex didnt like that he failed to perpetuate and enter wars.

“Hush money” was a phrase created by the media to make the trial seem legitimate..

Catch and kill is nothing new, just ask Stephanopolis and Ken’s girlfriend Hillary about “bimbo eruption”

No politician is pure, just like none of us are either. But this is Zimbabwe level banana republic weaponization of the legal system against an opponent.

Now having said that, the reality is that it takes money to win in politics.  The “message” doesnt sell itself, it take an army of people to knock on doors, conduct polls, make advertisements and all the other associated things to get a “low information voter” to get out to the polls.

Not bragging and not ashamed that I have written many checks for various amounts to many politicians.  Many times I have regretted it.  Romney still owes me $5000 in my opinion.

Like it or not politics is a dirty business.  You can die being “pure and right” but you need a bigger badder dog in the fight and it costs money.  It doesnt take big money, but that’s helpful, the power comes from $5, $10, $20 donations from millions of people.

So you can either get involved at the grass roots level now, or hope you have enough ammo to get involved when it really comes full circle.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and prayers.

Other than he is my son, I am happy that there are young men and women out there who still believe in something bigger than themselves and who are, essentially, willing to give up all their free time and devote themselves to the ideal of national defense. Because this nation, despite all the vermin freeloading off the system, is still worth saving.

God bless them all!
Precisely.  Well done and congratulations.

He is in heaven  at the right hand of the Father waiting for the point where he will use His enemies for a footstool.

Christianity is the only religion that believes in the complete depravity of the human, an eternal plan for the unblemished Lamb to be born and crucified for our sins to complete the type that was set forth in the Old Testament when imperfect sacrifices were given.

The death of His earthly temple was a triumph for us as it completed the positional justification of His elect before the Father.

Now we wait….

Boys have been busy.

Dodged the bullet thanks to the Lord for no damage from all the storms.  My “experiment” of two 36 inch culverts with 36 tons of rock came to an abrupt end at the ranch after torrential rains washed it all down stream.  I have now recovered the culverts from the creek and will be putting them up for sale.

Plan B will be a low water crossing me thinks.  I may have to buy a track hoe and use it for a year and sell it.

Standby generator at the ranch has a fault which I think is the control board….

Appointment this week for the Houston house for a 48kw whole house generator.  Grid has gotten very unreliable in the last 5 years and time to solve that problem.

Youngest on her way to the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M this fall and oldest is done with sophomore year at Mizzou.

Next two years will be maximum negative cash flow as money goes to two universities.

Bus is limping along and I need to decide to yank motor and get busy or bite the bullet and buy some DEF laden boat anchor dually.

Glad you boys are doing well.

That looks really great! So you did the epoxy work yourself?

Reason for asking: I plan to build Kat a new kitchen table about the same way...Epoxy, steel base, and fairly similar size and shape.

I would have been building it already, but I was told I should be building a vanity for a granddaughter...
Yes.  Two part deep pour epoxy with mica powder mixed in to make it black.  Pour into the cracks after taping the ends and bottom of the cracks.  You will find that those cracks can run in some wierd directions and that expoxy will find the way out if you don’t tape it up.  Hit the top with a little flame or heat gun to get rid of the bubbles

10mm is just a longer 40 cal.  Same dies.

Actually the 10mm came first, then the limp wristed FBI folks couldn’t deal with the recoil so they started down loading it and realized they didnt need all the cartridge length….and the 40S&W was born…

Wow great work Sam.

I started in late January and am at the gym 3 days a week on heavy weights.  I use My Fitness Pal and track everything, even measuring booze.  As long as I get 115 grams of protein I can eat pretty much whatever if I hit my calorie goal.

Im not trying to cut too many calories as I’m building muscle at the moment but down 18, lost 3 inches in the waist and really building muscle.  Put up 310 on the bench press this week for the first time in years.  Still a long way from my personal best of 380 but that was when I was 42 and I’m now 57.

I’m at 238 and really need to be at 215.  Pre covid I was 5 days in the gym and 205 but not hitting muscle as hard.  When I get the muscle mass I’m looking for I’ll switch gears to leaning up a bit to land on 215.

Sorry for being MIA for a while Chief.  I’ll be at the ranch and look up the recipe and post it with my usual disclaimer.

As for the 41mag, I have a ruger Redhawk single action.  I was able to replicate the exact ballistics of that weapon in my G20 10mm by adding a more supported KKM barrel and Wolff 20lb recoil spring.  It slings 200gn Hornady XTPs at 1350.  Can you imagine that?  14 rounds of that in a semi auto?  It’s a beast.  And even with the heavy recoil spring it still throws brass 15 feet!
