That looks like a painful process Sam.
I will, from this day forward, appreciate my little tractor every time I turn the key.

Hundred Ken. You must speak autocorrect.

And Sam that sled looks like a Goldwing with tracks...

Yea hundred. Stupid autocorrect.
And Ken, this is the easy way.
By boat is the hard way.
With sled, drive to gravel pile shovel into pails.
Drive to dump location.  With the boat add handling two more times at each end.

Charles. It is a big leather sofa. Go anywhere. Do anything you need.
Ice has taken a turn today.
I’m going to haul more now but unsure how much.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Being from the Air Force and they stopped promoting Warrant Officers around 1960 so not sure if this is true or not but maybe the boss can answer this. Would this be a true picture boss? LOL

Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Well, not many warrant officers have ever been photographed, doing anything. Pilots only care about flying, and when you snap a pic of us then all you get is the back of our helmets. In front of that is 1. A big smile, 2. A thought that goes something like this: I wonder if they will ever realize who I really am and how I'm just using them so I can get the keys to this thing once in awhile.

As for PT, no clue, never went!

Then there's the other 50% of the warrant officer crowd who don't fly. They hate their jobs, hate paperwork, are angry all the time, are seldom seen, simply because everyone avoids them (Even the pilots) and they hang on until retirement always wondering why they ever asked for that position in the first place.

Statistical fact: Most Armee suicides are walking warrant officers. and, oddly enough, most murders are committed by walking warrants who were somehow angered when some poor private mistakenly knocked on their doors.

Seriously, walking warrant officers are amongst our most dangerous items. Right up there with anthrax, pit vipers, and wives who caught their husbands in a itty bar.

Walking warrant officers come with their own DMZ and exclusion zones. They enjoy protected airspace!

The only people who talk to them are their families for the first year or so, some ignorant young privates, and people from other services.

The deadliest warrant officers are not the pilots carrying a nuclear weapon, nope, it's the special forces warrants. They are as angry and pissed off as the other walking warrants, but they have lots of guns. When we had the surge in Iraq that killed 11,000 al Qaeda hajis, all we did was to pull the warrants off their desks and sent them out with 9mm pistols and some bad coffee...and just looked what happened there! Fact!

Everyone thinks the Rangers took the Germans on D-day at point du-hoc, but the truth is Eisenhower sent a three man team of admin warrants to the site of the big guns and told them their offices were inside. When the warrants found the Germans in their space, the killing commenced.

Yea, don't mess with warrant officers strapped to a desk, and since no aviator has ever been seen at a PT formation, a standing Army order is that it takes the orders of a 4-star general to get some private to ask the warrants to come to PT.

This information is highly sensitive, of course, and is not for dissemination. Should we get into a real shootin' war with the China, the joint chiefs of staff likely have a plan to unleash a half dozen or so logistics and admin walking warrants on them. That or deliver a dozen or so thermo nuclear weapons if the target size is smaller than anticipated.

The truth be known, I do not feel safe even talking about them, and walking warrants, hey, I always talked you up at all those parties you weren't invited to, I never thought you were earth pigs and have always held you in the highest regard!

Yeah my team is littered with MBAs that can’t chew gum and walk at the same time. The snowflakes think they aren’t getting promoted because of racism and sexism.  Not because the suck and aren’t willing to work hard. Some woke college professors told them “get a masters degree and you’ll run the world”

Then the real world sets in and there aren’t participation trophies. Add value, get promoted. Pretty simple.

So this started happening yestertag.

This is about a mile downstream of my place.
We have bad ice this year, the original 2-6” got slushed out by two feet of snow.
So the two feet of ice we somehow got is 20-24” of slush ice and a bottom layer of good.

With this information of pending breakup another 75 pails of gravel went out last night. Made an ice patch at the rise into the yard. Bashed off the starboard trees and spun out with the last load as it will be. I can no longer pull the ton of load into my yard.
Approach height 3’ vertical length 6”. Approach speed 20 mph. Risk/reward no longer positive.

I may blast a couple more quick light trips today/tonight but no more heavy.

We have some mid 60’s and 70’s in the next few days so winter travel will cease imminently.

Today’s update was even more open.
Boat season will be soon upon me.

What is kind of troubling is I was driving on some of this last night with the quad.

Just watched that today. Took a chunk of metal through his jugular and into his lung. He gives credit where credit is due too, acknowledging that without God watching over him he’d be dead.

And people wonder why i get pissed off at companies that i hire and pay to do specific tasks!!!!!

Everything that was dug out and raked out of those flower beds was supposed to have been done by the lazy pieces of schiff that tried to tripple charge me for the sub-standard job that was done!

Got my flag pole and solar light from service first. I forgot to get a pic of the light.
Seems very well built for being made in China. I was assuming it would be made in USA but not surprised it's china. I don't know if I'm real impressed with the plastic rings but I'm sure they are fine. It holds 2 flags. I am unsure of what my second flag will be.
I will be building a flag pole stand to use with the camper.

I ordered a Kelly kettle a few months ago for primitive camping. Boils just shy of 2 quarts of water. I also ordered the  hobo stove with it. I have seen these in action on my winter campouts with the preppers. I was really impressed with how quickly it works.

For the record Im still kicking.
Parts are arriving and the garage makeover 679.37 is underway.

Found out the parts truck had air bags.
Now it’s got these rubber donut things that don’t hold air.
Well shoot, there goes that idea.
I think I’m going to bag the rear and crank the front a bit tighter.
After 300+ the rears now set on the overloads with nothing in the box. Emptied to haul dirt.
And the front, well if I was drag racing I’d be set with a negative angle. Lol.

I’ll post some progress if it begins. But it’s about a couple weeks out yet for sure.
And then I’ll do some parts pics.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

The siding crew finished yesterday, and i had to have a very pointed conversation with the gutter guy on why (after being on the schedule for 5 months) he will drop the piddly jobs that he thought he was going to do before mine and show up this morning.

When he got here, and i walked him around and showed him what i wanted done and why, he told his go-fer to un pack their trailer and that they were going to get my house finished.

Yes, on the way. I may or may not rebuild prior to installation. You are going to see a lot of love and attention given to this machine later this summer. Time to get it in good condition.

Will do a full review after some video this weekend.

You are correct, there is no "hole digger" on that.  That piece of equipment attaches to the 3 point system of a tractor which controls its up and down movement.

There is a small disk in front of a single plow tine.  And on the back side of the plow tine.  There is also a seat, foot rest and a shelf to hold your water bucket with the trees in it.

When lowered, the disk and plow tine create a small trench where the person sitting on the planter can stick the tree down into the ground.  Following the tractor is another tractor that has a wheel riding one side of the edge of the trench, which is packing it down.  Then that tractor would go back the other way and run the other side of the trench to pack it in.

The trees are small sappling size (we did western red cedar and golden willow).  We plant them along fench lines, property lines, etc to make wind breaks, habitat for wildlife like deer, phesants, turkeys, etc.

The trees are like $.25 @ piece and they are purchased throughplaces like the Department of Natural Resources , state/county agriculture extension.

Ill get a picture of it later this morning when we head back out to finish.

I sure wish I could make that much flat ground at my place. It's going to be a miracle if I can get a strip 20 foot wide for the awning build.

Nate, where are you doing all this?

Picked up and spread 3 more yards of mulch. Finished the front yard and planted a couple more Lorapetalum to replace some dead ones.

Now just need to finish adjusting sprinklers and replace some sod.

Started in the back yard and need to trim a bunch of azaleas , some stray crepe Myrtle suckers and a few other things.  Probably another full weekend before I’m done.  That’ll teach me to ignore the yard for 16 months....

Also got this in the mail today.  A hydraulic knock out punch kit for electrical boxes.  Need this to finish the install for the standby generator at the hide

And I highly doubt its really 9 tons.....

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Well went shopping for a small Kubota tractor with backhoe and front loader. None to be had showing the model number I wanted. Lots of compact tractors out there, just not the one I want. Two places I stopped at said they have them on order and they will check on status Monday. One guy said he ordered 3 in October but because of covid nothing has shown up yet. Parts suppliers more than factory.
About ready to start checking with the green iron dealers. Of course lots of the work force is making more on unemployment than working, but I have been assured that is not the case at all.
