Great news. Congrats to the family.

God is always with us. We have to choose to listen.  That is an awesome testimony.

Congratulations to Chris for trusting God and following Him to the end.

Mother's prayers are very strong.

I just saw that...

I mean I know that Chris prayed for God to help, and God did, that is rather obvious. But until you mentioned it, I failed to notice that my son gave in and followed that inner voice. That shows trust/faith.

This is so much bigger than just becoming a Ranger...
Amen

Thanks, Matt, and thanks to everyone who lifted up this young man or any other warrior in our military.

I have owned a bunch, but I have to agree with Dave.

On my Duramax truck they failed a couple of times.

On my Suburban they (AMP Research), stopped working for a time, then started working again.

I put Rough Country electric steps on my Gladiator, and wouldn't ya know it, one day just before a trail, the driver's step failed in the down position on a trail where it was probably going to get damaged anyway

I had running boards on my Escalade, and on her Denali Yukon, and I have steel steps on my current dually. None of those ever failed to provide a step or failed in any way.

I do actually plan to toss the electric steps on the Jeep and get some proper rack rails. After wheeling in the Utah last month, I can see those electric steps are not going to remain attached to my jeep after the first mile of trail time.

So, Dave, would you be interested in a set of electric Jeep steps?

So no building a home at the farm? What changed?
Well, not quite yet.

It is a long daily drive from the grandkids, and that is a big deal at the moment.

But the bigger issue is the road into the place.
It was impassable during a lot of the winter

and

my neighbor, who is my friend, will not fix it or allow me to fix it.

This is one of those Kentucky deals where I have prescriptive easement to a land locked property. I could go to court and all that and have a regular easement given to me, but I would still have to ask permission to improve the road. There's that but I also have this belief that he has the right to keep that road anyway he wants to. It's his land after all. I respect that and he and I have come to respect each other and our "oddities," so I'll leave that resting dog lie.

I see all that changing in due course. Unfortunately he has bone cancer and I wish he didn't. I like the man and I think he is a good person, albeit a bit eccentric, but frankly that is part of his charm. Perhaps in time we could purchase that property and if that happened, I would build there and you'd have a 3/4 mile drive back into the woods just to get to my home, which I would very much like.

I like his family and so forth and well at the end of the day, that lane is not getting any better than 4WD/mud tire capable, so Kat in her AWD Caddy would be left out in the cold if we built there now. So for now, I'll keep the property up and ready. I'll make small, incremental, and smart changes that do not kill the bank account, nor take up huge chunks of our time.

We are in a place in our life where we are enjoying the family, each other and travelling. Frankly, this year, I would not have had all that much time remaining to do much down there anyway.

So for now, it is what it is. It is in God's hands and I am not worrying about it

But I DID JUST BUY A NEW TRACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
