What are you thankful for
« on: November 25, 2015, 07:18:49 AM »
I am thankful for God paying the price for my sins by sending Jesus to Earth and the ultimately to the Cross as a sacrifice.

I am thankful for my family and God being in their lives as well as their health.

I am thankful for my job, a way to support them.

I am thankful for a group like this where I can say these things and the veterans who have and continue to make it possible.

I am thankful for the opportunity to sit out in the cold hunting this morning enjoying God's creation with my son.

I am thankful for Jesus
And God saving my life in Baghdad...and Kandahar...and in Kirkuk...and probably a thousand places I didn't realize
I am thankful for the bible
I am thankful that God is a loving God
I am thankful for my wife, and my children
And my health
And for a mission for the rest of my life
And for the things which I enjoy tinkering on
which by the way don't really matter at all
And for the love of a warrior
of people who care not about him
And for good people everywhere
Many of whom come right here to visit and share
And for those who don't know the Lord
That God trusts me enough to allow me to plant a seed
And for old red dogs that chew up things
And for this old walnut desk
And that double barrel sitting just over there
But mostly for the memories it always brings back
I am thankful for winters and springs and the cycle of life
And grandkids, and mud tires, and weeds, and wrenches
For the time I get to work with all of that
   I am thankful for hope
And the assurance that life does not end with the death of a body

Being born in this wonderful country.

Giving me 3 wonderful healthy children.

A career that fulfilled me and kept other safe. This also allowed me to support the family I have with their mother at home raising them.

Forgiveness for all I have done and may do.

I am thankful for the blood of Jesus the Christ whose sacrifice as the  spotless lamb was the only sacrifice to satisfy a just and angry God.  Because He chose me before the foundation of the world my sins are now as far away as the East is from the West in the eyes of the Father.

All else is secondary.

I'm thankful for salvation that is undeserved & free; the blessings bestowed upon me by God & the manner that they (good and bad) have tempered & sculpted me.

I'm thankful for all those here & elsewhere that are a part of my life-

God bless us all!

GOD,

please watch over all of those that are unable to be at home for this holiday of thanks and may they have another day on this earth to be thankful for!

AMEN

Thanksgiving office "selfie"

Thankful for my God, my family and friends, the protectors at large, hollow points, 3M Kevlar, rip stop polyester blend, and convenient cover.

Gaston Glock and Eugene Stoner get an honorable mention as well!
