D.O.T. / Re: To spare tire or not to spare tire?
« on: July 22, 2021, 01:08:32 AM »
I put 4 new Falken Wildpeaks at3w tires 285/75R18 at $350.@ 6 or 7 months ago and I've had 3 flats since.
Two of them were almost sidewall holes.  No plugs there.  Had to remove the tire and galvanize hot patch to fix.
The 3rd one was bizaar.  Drove from Knoxville TN to Roanoke VA, walked around the truck and POW!!!  The valve stem split open.  5 minutes earlier, I wast doing 80 mph.

So, yeah, you need a spare.  Too bad it won't fit where the spare should be now.

They're coming from all sides now.
Not long ago, I had a post Covid19 follow-up visit with my doctor. After asking questions re: my health, living situation, thoughts about what is happening in the country, and, wait for it...do I own a gun?
I said pardon me, you want to know if I own a gun?  Why?  What could that have to do with my health?  He said there are new questions he has to ask since Covid19 began.  I said questions from where?  No answer.  I said doc, I like you but it's none of your business or concern if I do or don't so just mark that one UNK!
It's coming folks.  They have been chipping away at our freedom and telling us what we have to accept for years.  Got a lot worse recently.  It's in our schools from kindergarten on up.  Stand fast, don't bend and don't fall for the friendly trick questions from your family doctor.  You have rights to your privacy, for a while longer.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: Homosexuality/Pride Month
« on: June 15, 2021, 02:32:58 AM »
I'd like to comment on this as more a man of science than of faith.  To me, this is just creepy.  It hurts my stomach to witness men kissing in public.  It makes no sense "scientifically".  The one positive is, they cannot reproduce.  And where do the effeminate, light in the loafers gestures, actions and lispy talk come from?  Their parents were not homosexuals so they didn't inherit those traits.  They learned them and made a choice to use them.  Old queens teach the young queens how to look, walk, speak and all to be that sensationalist in the room.  The rediculous drama is sickening to watch, let alone accept as the new normal in our country.  And who decided (and with what authority) to give these 1% or 2% or 3% of the population an entire month to celebrate their disgusting choice?  I'm sick of it and so are many, many other folks but many are afraid to voice any objections for fear of losing friends or who knows what.  I don't do facebook, twitter or any other similar garbage that weakens my financial or personal security under the guise of having fun.  So many young people have ruined their chances for employment and more just by posting for all to see, their depraved actions.  It's just sad that this country seems to be following other countries like Great Britton and other liberal, Socialist states in a downward spiral.  Homosexuality is just a part of the breakdown in the moral fabric of our once great nation.
Some will be outraged by my words.  I don't give a rats ass.  And I damn sure won't be told I can't feel this way about this breakdown in morals.  Good decent people need to start speaking their mind a little louder to have any chance at all for salvation.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: Children in masks
« on: August 28, 2020, 03:12:54 AM »
Nobody's getting past those two anti-burglar devices!

I see the snicker too.  Handsome lad.  You're right about the missed facial communication, especially at his age.  GIRLS! He's gotta be able to read them!

I spent 18 yrs working as a biomed tech/Mgr.  I spent many days in OR's.  The masks everyone is wearing are nothing more than a "dem feel good" measure. If it's not rated N95 or better, it's a waste of time & money.  Just another socialist experiment to see how far a giant herd of sheep can be pushed.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / Re: Trump
« on: February 07, 2020, 01:27:40 AM »
I could not have said that any better!

After watching the SOTU speech, I felt proud, real proud!  The kind of proud I last felt when we had our last "great" President tell Mr. Gorbechev to "tear down that wall".

Hard to believe it's been 40 yrs since POTUS #40 took the oath of office.  R.R. was almost an outsider, like POTUS #45 except for his time as California's Governor.   They both were known by millions from TV and/or big screen.  They both had a wall to contend with and they both made me proud, instead of embarrassed, to be an American!  I for one can't think of anyone that could have done more, or even as much as Trump has done.

MAGA 2016!
KAG 2020!

Just imagine what the response would have been if that plane had 57 Americans on it!
This was your time to shine Trudeau.  You have certainly showed the World what a punk you are.
Your citizenship should be revoked.  You don't deserve to be a Canadian.  Go to Iran and kiss their terrorist arses in person.

Excellent summary of some very disturbing events.

A large portion of the "blame" for this type of anti-American garbage lands right in the lap of a Mulotta Muslim first term Senator.

So much of his evil was done where and when nobody was looking.

"American Handgunner"

Comes out every other month.

Worth twice the price.  Look for sales.

Why?
Because it's BIG, great detailed pictures, superb writing, covers handguns (automatics and revolvers) but also lots of knives and cool gear as well.  Reloading advice and Masad Ayoob stories of gunfights that actually happened.  Something for everybody.  Love everything John Taffin writes!  He does new gun testing with excellent documentation of handloads/performance/accuracy etc.
Enough for now
Popular Mechanics is #2.

My son just cut his Nike's up and threw them in the garbage.  I asked him why he cut them up and he said "so nobody can ever wear them again".  Made me proud.  He was listening I guess.  One saved millenial.

That's because
1. He's young and stupid (we all were)
2. It hurts way more 4 hrs later
3. He felt he let the team down (he didn't)
4. Biggest problem with teens, as soon as it doesen't hurt too much, he's gonna think he can go out and be himself.  Unfortunately, that won't ever be true.  Over the head movement of the arm is extremely bad and could set him back quite a bit.  This is not the type of injury where you're all good in 8 weeks.  This is a forever thing that certain things are limited or just not possible without re-injury occurring.  Are they gonna drill the 2 bones and use the titanium dog bones with super strong Dr. string to pull it all back together?  That can't be done until all the swelling goes down.  I had that done.  I'll try to photo the X-Rays for him.  I'm sure he's curious.  I'm 90+ %.  Just cant do straight above the head stuff, like blocking a soccer ball.
I had grade 4 separation
He may not.  Grade 4 is really bad.  They only go to 5.

Well I have a new one. Last night my 16 year old son was warming up for his very first High School Varsity league soccer game and gets knocked to the ground. Spent a few hours in the emergency room with a broken collar bone. Will definitely need surgery. Bummer is he will miss the entire season in his Junior year and won't be available for college scouts. Will have to keep hitting the books for scholarships. Lol.

Tell your son, I know his pain.  Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.  Very disheartening initially. Also very painful.  Takes a year to heal.  DO NOT RUSH IT!  Do yhe excersizes in PT and he'll be laughing about this next year.

I think places like New York, NJ, Maryland, Connecticut, delaware and eastern PA is set up for a big fall. The socialist movement will accelerate the slide down the slope and that whole thing will implode at some point.
It's already happening.  Our new Democrt Gov. has already passed a law making our 15 round magazines illegal when it becomes law in about 2 months.  10 rounds max from now on.  That'll save lives.  Idiot.  Facts mean nothing to these people.  They are deranged.  He's a socialist at heart.  I can't leave soon enough.  Now this thread is really off track.

I truly believe Tennessee is gonna be my "correctly shaped hole".  Most people there are polite, respectful and helpful from what I've seen.  Not used to that.  I just hope all these fearmongers don't tear down every last Confederate monument before I get there.  I'm kind of a history buff, especially war related.  History is just that, history.   Omama changed all the wording and language in thousands of Gov't documents and childrens school books.  He didn't make history not happen, just harder to find out about it.  Thank God we now have the great Omama Eraser in the White House. Now, if I could just sell this house....anybody wanna move to NJ?

And just to be clear, I'm only a 3 wood and a 9 iron from 60 yrs old, born & raised in NJ all my life.  I just don't fit in much.  Conservative, Christian, White, Male that hunts defensless animals, ride a Harley, lost track of how many guns are in the safe and believe Hillary, Holder, Obama and a bunch more should have been shot long ago for committing treason.  And I pull the Red lever every election.  Out numbered is putting it mildly.  If I'm not what you're lookin' for just break it to me gently, 'cause my "safe space" is closed until the new drapes are installed.

On a serious note, can Don's knees handle the adventure bikes any longer?

JR,
And question for ya
I am about to acquire one of thise 6.6 gallon Aceribus (or however you spell that name) fuel tanks
They tell me you can't paint it or put decals on it, because it seeps fumes from all over!
WHHHAAAAT?
Anyway, that is just a challenge.
I am going to paint it and decal it up with the cammo wrap
So me is thinkin' out loud
I'm thinking I spray the outer surface with an adhesion promoter first, then a primer, then a coat of paint. Perhaps even run some sort of sealant all around the inside of the tank to prevent this pesky migration of fuel molecules.
Concerns: Interior lines stuff flakes off and clogs the petcock/filter and we have sudden stoppage. Secondly, my paint and wrap falls off the tank just when and while some Harley guys are ridiculing the "Pretty Little" Jap bike...Not as a Harley owner, that I have ever done that....just sayin...
Kreme the inside of the tank.  Did that on a 30 yr old honda tank.  Fill it w/ a couple handfulls of small hex nuts with the prep and shake it around vigorously to loosen any flaky stuff.  Apply Kreme liquid primer, coat entire insides.   Kreme treatment next, pour in and tilt tank to cover everything. Let dry. Gets hard like porceline.  No more rust, etc.  Used to use this back in the 70's.  It works great.

PS: I think I finally stumbled onto the right forum after reading about this bike/truck build.  Been telling people for years about having a 4 stroke woods bike, bonoculars, fuel, food, ammo, water filters and spare parts for what you can't make. ie files, primers, springs, eye glasses.
Falls on deaf ears here (NJ).  I'll be in TN asap.  Wifes already there.

My deck.  Used to be a round pool there.  It froze & wall split & 20,000 gallons went down my driveway.  Took it down, leaving my booby trap.  Glasses were completely mist & fogged powerwashing and just stepped right off.  Gravity works.  Railing up now.  Kids are 29 & 25.
