Title: 100 Days of Prayer
Post by: Flyin6 on January 10, 2022, 10:48:43 AM
Gentlemen,

I attended a rather profound service yesterday at 7-Hills church in Florence KY. We enjoy a gifted orator of a pastor who time and time again delivers messages that just get right at your (Christian) core.

This weeks message was a standout and I learned some secrets of the bible and about how God moves.

One thing I learned was that The kingdom responds mightily to prayer requests at two times daily, those being 9 AM and 3 PM. There are example after example of heaven showing up at those two times. Those two hours, by the way, coincide with prayer time for the Jewish nation, no small coincidence.

Another thing I learned was to keep petitioning God over and over until he answers your prayer. Keep in mind, he may not answer it in the way you have asked, but he will answer your prayer.
Example: If you pray for God to give you a million dollars just so you can buy a bunch of things, he may not do exactly that. But you just may someday realize you have always had everything you needed, and lots of money showed up at times of great need, especially when you were being generous.

You see I thought you asked God once for something, like, "God please protect my wife and children." I believed if I kept praying for that it was as if I was thinking God needed a reminder and to keep him from forgetting. But I was wrong about that. We are to keep petitioning our Father until we see movement and resolution.

I heard and felt the word of truth from Pastor Mechum yesterday.

So, I am committing to 100 days of prayer for all the men who come to this place in the universe. I am going to ask God every day for his protection over all ov you. I am going to ask him for prosperity, health, and for all of you to have the giants in your life set aside to the glory of the kingdom. If you want to, PM me with your particular need, and I will write it down and pray over that every day going forward for 100 days.

I would like to ask as many of you as can to pray with me for the health and welfare for all the men who come here. Ask God to enrichen their lives with a new hunger for him, and for righteousness, to order their steps that their toes would not strike a single stone. Our world is plummeting into an abyss with wars and hard times on the horizon. We already have disease, and famine may well come. We will have our freedoms challenged more than ever as the enemy working even through the highest seats of our own government will work to quelch the fires of Christianity. Sure enough times will get tough, but our God wins! Jesus will return and reclaim this world and destroy the enemy. We may not survive with an earthly body, but we will return to reign over this world,

So

Pray with me if you will

For the next 100 days

and

Let's all experience what God does in our lives!

Oh, and I cheated...I started yesterday so I could get 101 days in recognition of a certain Army division, and just an extra day of praying for all of you!

I'd like to see everyone who visits the site to join in

I have a prayer list

You are on it

On that list amongst the other things I pray for, I am specifically praying for the health and welfare and prosperity of the men who visit this site. I pray that through their interaction and what they read and see here, that they will be strengthened against the plans and schemes of the enemy. I pray for their strength in the growing war against the kingdom of God which is already raging.

For what part I have in this place, I am lifting you all up.

After praying today the Lord lead me to Habakkuk 1: 1-11 felt very fitting for the world we are in.
The prophecy(A) that Habakkuk the prophet received.

Habakkuk’s Complaint

2 How long,(B) Lord, must I call for help,
    but you do not listen?(C)
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
    but you do not save?(D)
3 Why do you make me look at injustice?
    Why do you tolerate(E) wrongdoing?(F)
Destruction and violence(G) are before me;
there is strife,(H) and conflict abounds.
4 Therefore the law(I) is paralyzed,
    and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
    so that justice(J) is perverted.(K)

The Lord’s Answer

5 “Look at the nations and watch—
    and be utterly amazed.(L)
For I am going to do something in your days
    that you would not believe,
    even if you were told.(M)
6 I am raising up the Babylonians,[a](N)
    that ruthless and impetuous people,
who sweep across the whole earth(O)
to seize dwellings not their own.(P)
7 They are a feared and dreaded people;(Q)
they are a law to themselves
    and promote their own honor.
8 Their horses are swifter(R) than leopards,
    fiercer than wolves(S) at dusk.
Their cavalry gallops headlong;
    their horsemen come from afar.
They fly like an eagle swooping to devour;
9     they all come intent on violence.
Their hordes advance like a desert wind
    and gather prisoners(T) like sand.
10 They mock kings
    and scoff at rulers.(U)
They laugh at all fortified cities;
by building earthen ramps(V) they capture them.
11 Then they sweep past like the wind(W) and go on—
guilty people, whose own strength is their god.”(X)

Day 59
Cool story from this morning
Was getting my hair cut
My barber is a nice girl, Jessica, age 32
We were talking as we often do, and I introduced the subject of Jesus and salvation.
She said that she was good with that but didn't like to go to church. So I pressed further.
I asked her if she was saved. She said she was. I asked her how did she know. She answered that she was a good person and lived a good life.
I told her that was not being saved. She gave me an expression of confusion.
I then told her she could only be saved through accepting Jesus as her lord. She said, she just felt she was saved.
I asked her to read Romans 10:9.
The conversation went on for another minute, when I said to heck with it and pulled out my phone to look up and share the verse. Check this out: When the phone turned on it was already on "BibleGateway.com"!
How cool is that?
I typed in Romans 10:9
It immediately came up. she squinted to read it, so I read it for her. Confess with your mouth and believeth in your heart...
I was reading it and she literally said, "I do believe that Jesus is the son of God, I believe it in my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
That was the coolest thing.
I told her "Well, miss Jessica, you are saved now for sure."
I checked out a moment later and handed her a $20 tip. She smiled. I said that was to mark the occasion. I told her, "You will always remember this day."
She responded, "I will always remember this day."

Day 65

The day after we reached 1,000,000 views on one thread

WDYDT

What did you do today...

Introduced by a godly man in 2016, it took six years and a week to cross the one million threshold.

A simple thread, but looking back on it, I see shared lives. Shared between godly men, strong men, good men. So what we see in this achievement is a growing fellowship where men doing life from all corners of our hemisphere chose to share those thousands of experiences with fellow men who they trusted. They knew that in sharing these experiences, they could do so in a safe environment because men with God in their heart are safe places. They are refuges not only for other godly men, but also for outsiders who don't know Christ. So it is that the witness of the holy spirit works. It is one of the mysteries of the universe which I can illustrate with bees and flowers. Sweet nectar and honey simply attracts more bees! A good word attracts interest, and in this we see how God set up the community of believers. We naturally find one another through the sweet scent of the honey. We know it is good, and nourishing, and will sustain us. That is how the holy spirit works like tendrils of smoke that get into everything near the source. And so it is that men who are strengthened here should go forth where they will likewise attract more bees, for God does not seek to destroy but to gather every single living soul into his bosom...

Day 72

I prayed those prayers on the road.
The day 71 while I was on I-77 in some crazy mountains in West Virginia, I think or maybe Virginia or possibly North Carolina... All I knew was to stay glued to that windy road and keep from getting smashed up by all those semis!

Day 72 I prayed somewhere around Winston-Salem North Carolina.

I think things are happening.  Sometimes we (I) have to slow down and look.  It's like praying for something without checking to see if it got answered and then finding it has been.

Day 77

As usual, I sit down and open up the page and read the scripture of the day that the Lord has provided through our retired First Sergeant, Matt...Thank you!

Then many times I close my eyes and pray the same prayer, but now with additions

This morning during prayer some things came to mind. Not sure if it was my mind wondering or if those thoughts were placed there, but I think I'll write them up and post them...

And so it continues

CIEMR:  How close is God?
How close is God to us and how much attention does he really pay to all the goings-on in our busy lives?
It is an honest question and both a thought provoking one and one that may show you a surprise. I can confess it sure has for me, and on more than one occasion.

Luke 12:7 tells us this: Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid you are worth more than many sparrows. I don’t know how many hairs I have, do any of you? Anyone out there ever try to count them? And no, I’m not asking a certain Colonel who I cherish as a friend, who could easily count his (Because the total sum is around zero!!!).

This verse shows us something. God cares about us quite a bit. Arguably, if he took the time to count hairs, one must wonder how much exactly, does he know about the rest of us? And the question further begs, How much would one have to care about you if one of the least most important things to know in all of existence, that being how many hairs you have, is of some importance to him? Maybe it’s just my cra-zee pilot mind here, but it makes me wonder just how focused God might be on me? What about you or the rest of us if he takes the time to count hairs?

Something happened to me yesterday which once again brought me right back to that simple realization. The realization that God really does love me! I’ll share that in a moment because it is said that your strongest testimony that you can bring to a discussion is a personal experience.

Years and years ago I was in one of those moods where I was just worshiping Jesus. Not as a God, but more like a cool friend, which is how I view him a lot of the time. I know he is relevant, and suspected he was always near. So, on that day, it was shower time and I jumped right into that steamy wonderfulness and lathered right up. I was literally singing and praising him when my mind drifted to my second love, Coffee! Oops, I meant, third love or fourth love or something like that. Really, sweetie, you are number two! And the kids must be number three, and oh yea, your dogs, they must or should be number four, five, six, and sometimes, seven!

Anyway, I was in this fun sort of mood, doing some worship time in the shower, when my mind drifted off to coffee. Yea, I was right there, I had my imaginary creamer, some whipped cream, and some sweetener in it and it was making one of those picture perfect wisps of steam (That no one ever saw, ever) and I just spoke the words.

I was worshiping and I said: I literally said right there in the shower, Jesus, you are so cool, I bet you love coffee too. And then it happened, and this is true. I heard his voice. I heard it as surely as I take my next breath. In the silence of my mind I heard a voice and immediately after I said, “I bet you love coffee too,” The unmistakable voice simply said, “I created it.” I’m not kidding folks, he said that to me, and I’m sitting here typing through eyes filled with tears because every time I remember that, a moment when he reached down to me, I get emotional. That was such an insignificant time in my life, apart from God showing up, but nevertheless, there he was right there in the moment, speaking to me!

And yesterday it happened again. He showed up again! So, way back in January during a time in my church life normally devoted to fasting and prayer I was in the house listening to my pastor. This year, however, I did not fast. During a sermon then, the pastor spoke also about being in 100 days of prayer. I immediately knew what to do. I came home, put together my prayer list and began on my 100 days of prayer. I intended to stay faithful to it, and I have. I believe I could achieve a breakthrough for myself, my wife, family (all of it) friends, the men on my forum website, our nation and some other things.

On and on it went. I would sometimes wake up and pray like I did this morning and other times I’d be driving in another state, once in the beautiful mountains on Interstate 77 in West Virginia, I think. Every day I would also then go to my website and post a simple comment, in the “Faith section under a thread called “100 days of prayer.” As the number of days grew, we approached April. I was thinking about the advanced number of days and how close I was to arriving at that three decimal milestone and for some reason I was also noticing the rapid approach of my birthday.

Yea…

Seeing the convergence, I added in the remaining days on a scrap piece of paper, one column represented the calendar date and the adjacent one the number of prayer days, and guess what? 100 days of prayer that I started on some random day way back in January, falls on my birthday!

How should I read that? How would you? For me I believe God loves me so much he not only knows my diminishing number of hairs but cared enough to give me that idea back in January. He knew the notion to pray for 100 days would culminate on the day I came into this world. He made it personal, and once again showed me he is right here with me, closer than a breath away.

God loves me! He loves you too!

Well, we have arrived at our 100th day of prayer

Many thanks to those who accompanied me on this journey.

I would hope that we saw change take place in some of the areas that we sowed prayer into. I do know that some very specific areas I talked to the Lord about, I saw some of you write comments about confirming that there was change.
Coincidence? possibly, but you have to believe something. And I believe God wants us to pray to him, to lean on him, to trust in him to do what we ask in his name. And I believe that he does move.

Does he move exactly as we have asked him to? Frankly, not often for he is timeless and knows the future. He moves is clever and in ways that reveal greater purpose as time gives way.

I feel about telling God how to solve a problem would be equivalent to an ant trying to guess the calculations of a cray super computer. But every once in a great while, the super computer comes up with the same thing that the ant asked to begin with. Most times, however, God sets things in motion that do create a change but not in a way we may even recognize.

So, I believe the things I have prayed for, and specifically the health and welfare for all those here will walk itself out in a manner which is good and helpful to all those who grace our pages.

God Bless all.
