So I am considered a POG, and will gladly own it because of what it has taught me, but some of the highest scoring as abs I’ve known were the 03xx (marines) or 11x (army), in other words the grunts!

Intellect can do ceberal things, to be sure (Lab rats)

But it is also key to survival

Combat requires one of two things:

1. High intellect

or
2. A large training operation producing boatloads of new infantrymen

One of the lies of liberal hollywood. When you watch a movie and you're watching a group of grunts, Jarhead or Armee, they usually depict them as neanderthals. Truth is, if you have ever hung out with those folks, you will find many of them to be very smart, and witty. Knowing the perception most people have of them, they often play that perception to their advantage. In my world, we pilots were a funny group and you had to be on your toes when relaxin' IVO the other aviators. But grunts were pretty darned quick themselves. I've lost many a joust with a smelly grunt, but I've won a few too. Marines were the same. Most were well composed, and smart.
