my coworker gets to replace all the gutters on the south side of his house and a good portion of the west corner; little early winter storm in Mukilteo dropped an alder on his roof edge, sliding all the way down and tearing the side and front gutters off. he's not as handy as you are though, so we're all taking bets on what sort of injury he comes back with next week.

Ha. All you boys and the winter weather. Celebrating my best friend’s birthday tonight. Sitting outside in 72 degree weather.

Well I’ll drop this. The other end of the thermometer.

Yesterday on the way to work.

Today. Hauled propane x3 100# and 3 drums of fuel.
Pegged the trail also.

A balmy -25 or so.

Then found the leaks in the boat.

Full of water…

The culprits.

Tight as a drum agsin.
Now to measure and fit gussets and start the reconstruction.

The ole Cummins started out good but now its telling me the DPF is full. But that's not possible because it doesn't have a DPF anymore.  Switching out for the LML Duramax.

I made a couple calls to a shops about the dodge. Everyone thinks for some reason the tune got messed up but nobody will touch it because a few shops around here got in trouble for deleting vehicles. I don't know a lot about that kind of stuff. They said something about getting it back to factory then reload the tune. But, I Don't have the tuner. The original shop just downloaded a tune to the truck.

Jon, call the folks in Ontario. They will do delete tunes and fix them and all the rest. They understand, of course, you are never operating the vehicle on roads and highways. "Motor Ops"

Well my boat is broke about everywhere. That’s the bad news. It’s all fixable. That’s the good news.
Buy once cry once. I’ve said it a few times here most likely and I generally live by those words.
If I’m going to fix it I’ll fix it all.
I could have filled the blt with water and found the leaks. Center floor panel lit gas tank out and done.
But.
I knew something was wrong.
Time to fix it.

Not so beuno.
Both sides broken all the way bow to stern.
They’ll be getting 2 x 84” fish plates added above and below the floor bracket.

Then there’s this beauty, under the live well.
Cracks and fractures all over but I can see them all.
It’s just work, and might as well stay busy right…

Oh. Work Christmas party Friday evening.
Smoking most of this.

So needed to add some rack capacity to the smoker.

The shiny aluminum angles should get me to 20 racks a side.  It’s will be done Thursday night for pulled pork. Ribs Friday project.

If outside the water would be solid.
I’m lucky enough to have ginormous heated buildings at my disposal.
So cold outside. Warm in the boat.
And I know you’re only kidding.

I’ve rounded up the majority of my repair materials.
But with the impending staff Christmas party I’ma be busy smoking meat the next couple days.

Thats what im hopeing for ... lol

Thats just cute Nate.

I am actually trying to sell that set up and get the next step up (b2601).

The only reason i am stepping up is for pure loader lifting capacity.

The bx2680 (with hydraulics turned up) can barley curl 500lbs, and gets ass end wiggle with a bucket of dirt.

The b2601 has a lift capacity of around 1150 lbs. Plus it has a higher hydraulic flow rate of 8 gpm compared to 6 gpm on the bx.

If i can justify it, i will get a hydraulic rotary broom next year, so as to assist with light snow.

Update on the Dodge. I finally got a hold of the original shop that worked on it. They plugged in and did some stuff I don't understand and its good now. He did ask if I was pulling a heavy load when everything went haywire because that is probably what caused it. Well duh. it's a dually with a farm license. He gave no further explanation. The guy was a jackhole, but he didn't charge anything.
So, we have a juiced up 6.7 that might go goofy next time I pull a heavy load. Some of you gave suggestions on different shops. Once we get through the holidays, I will be contacting some of them and see what some other options are.

Husker Diesel did my Duramax that time. Did good work. Thier pulling truck is a chevy I guess I thought they were pretty much GM guys. We took the Dodge to Bangharts in Wahoo.

I don't want to get in front of this, but
There is a combo major twin truck build happening, it's Duane's old Power Wagon and a donor truck that suddenly started getting restored too.
You folks don't know Dan, a fabricator who builds truck beds, fire trucks, fixes excavators...Remember the guy who repaired my excavator? That is Dan.
Dan's business continues to grow, so he built a brand new shop
The power wagon magic is going to go on there. All three of us will be working on them.
Randy's worldwide is a big part of this too...Parts, parts, and even some more parts.
I'll let Duane do the big reveal, but that's what's going on and has been for a few weeks so far.
I want for all of us to enjoy this restomod build. Duane already built one SEMA show winner, and Tate was there. He may be setting his sights on this one going there too...It's a cool old 76 crew-cab real live powerwagon from Oregon.

20 lbs of pork bellies going in the smoker today. I've been playing with some new flavors. The last batch I had a few too many Bud Lights and decided to dump a bunch of lemon pepper on a smaller piece as a joke. Lemon pepper typically being for fish and chicken I thought it would be awful. Just the opposite. It is actually really good. I have 10 lbs. of lemon pepper flavor and 10 lbs. of garlic onion flavor. I forgot to get garlic, so I used granulated onion and garlic for that. It smells awesome.

I nearly forgot the end result. I found that if I let it rest in the fridge a few days before freezing it has better flavor.

Rant of the day. Today is my grandson 20 birthday, he works 2 jobs and goes to college full time . He is driving 2005 chevy duramx. He walks outside this morning and some a$$hat has broken into his truck. They broke the door lock, ignition key lock and the glove box which wasn't lock. They got about $40 a skateboard a hoodie and some old teenis shoes. Nothing that can't be replaced or fixed but darn on his birthday and if they needed it he would have given all that to them. He has a heart of gold. I'm sure it was just some drug user looking for their next score but leave the young hard working kids alone !

That’s a hard one not to get real angry about for sure!! We need more kids in this country with that kinda drive!

Good thing the hard parts should still be readily available to fix it up and Christmas around the corner you have a good option to help the young man out

Man sorry to hear that. An attempt is made to steal my 2001 about once every other year. The alarm scares them off but it still costs me the door cylinder.

Blew it out last night for my birthday and my youngest daughters birthday.

Oldest comes home for winter break tomorrow.

Nice to get a good meal in right before my annual physical on Friday….lol. I can hear the lecture now.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Food looks great. For this birthday stuff in December, granddaughter is the 11, me and the oldest grandson is the 12, other grandson is the 13 and daughter is the 18. I have told all the kids and grandkids that nobody can have sex in a month that will result in a birth in December

Any of you in the west (US/Canada) getting nuked by this blizzard?
Looking at reports today of 60" of snow in places and 60+mph winds
Sounds dangerous

No blizzard and only a few inches of really wet snow. I’m sure the mts are getting hammered with that much needed snow pack

On the other hand

I just spent the better part of an hour fighting snow on my driveway.
I have two snowblowers, the super trusty single stage toro (four cycle) and the silly ass large two stage toro 38” wide.
Now the wife doesn’t usually clear the driveway but today she did. Well the single stage ran out of fuel and my mistake left a can of way way bad syrup fuel in the garage. Well that syrup is what she used to refuel the little blower and now I need to tear it apart to clear it out.
Then I stupidly pull out the monster blower to move five or so inches of this slush. Well the right side tire didn’t seem to engage in either direction so I fought through it, my drive, the seniors next door and so forth leanin on the right side to keep a straight line. On my very last swipe in their drive way I stopped to rest and noticed the DAMN pin has snapped off that drive wheel. Sure enough I have one hanging on the the cable just for that reason and I didn’t think about it.
I sat and envisioned the tear down and repair bill of the machine in the middle of winter and such. What a relief!!!

Drive ways done. Bad fuel dumped in the eco friendly fluid disposal gravel on the side of the yard. Now to eat left overs
