Get your get to set you up with stuff for repairing a torn up dog- stapler and amoxicillin 250mg 'cause Red Dog keeps running through fence while down at farm and you don't want to run back north to fix her up!

I actually used up 300 in 3 years on dogs being tore open!

« on: May 30, 2015, 05:17:38 PM »
My only heirloom gun is my Grandfather's Remington Model 11 - the gun I used to learn to shoot airborne targets with as a teen.  Used it 5 years ago in South Dakota for an evening hunt to honor his memory.  He used it, most memorably to whack a double on So. Missouri Gobblers, sneaking out of his shop, popped over the hill side and shot the first head that stuck up.....and the one behind it!  Filled his and Grandma's tag less then 100 yrds from the front door!

He stopped using it, when one day, it went full auto on him, dumping 3 rounds and scaring him sufficiently to pick-up an 1100 at the pawn shop!  He had it repaired before handing it down to me!

He's the man I got the hunting bug from, as the stories, though few, were enough to peek my interest- the only hunt he ever took me on was into the woods, past the shop, squirrel hunting, with a sweet Winchester pump .22 rifle that my younger brother ended up with along with all the other arms.  He was the man who had the most profound effect upon whom I am today- rough and well "used", it's one of my favorite weapons.

Do you guys have anything for gaining weight...all I've seen on this forum is for shedding!

Come to the Chicago area and enroll in Welfare and become a Democrat (not ment to slander) - around here, I've YET to see a skinny, emaciated poor person! (who wasn't a Meth Addict)

Since you're drawing

See that section of grill running down inside of the headlight and parking light?

What would it look like with a new vertical there along with a lateral which passes just under the headlight, connects to the vertical, then another horizontal coming off the stub on the middle horizontal?

That along with something like that corner gusset would "Grid up" and tighten up everything considerably

I think I might have been experiencing a Vulcan Mind Tap - is this what you'z thinkin'?

Leave them sideways, they're not as intimidating that way! -Lol!

GREAT News Blaine!  Glad to hear things are getting back to normal for Weston and the rest of the family!

For my breakfast, based upon rude comments (factual) by the Dr., I had "Ancient Grains" cereal w/ 1%, coffee (black- but like it that way) and a banana for a whopping 390 calories!  Using a Fitbit (FATBIT for me as of now) and electronic scale linked to it and the calorie counting software phone app.  Will keep me honest, track trends including heart rate and exercise, calories eaten, salt intake, calories burned, % body fat etc. and most importantly, fairly easy to enter- all I need to do is track food, technology does the rest!

AND- I can't lie to myself about it (ah, that handful of cookies is GOOD for me!)  Currently 200 lb. 5' 10" and according to scale at about 25% body fat (seems high but maybe not).

Yep.  195-205 is my fighting weight. Sitting at 218 now.  I could carry 220 fine when I was lifting regularly.  I gave up weight training for cardio and push ups/pull ups/ and ab work.  And stretching. the other thing people forget as they get older.  I spend much more time stretching now than I ever did.

HA- at our age, everything is a STRETCH!  ;D

Vertigo- Dr. said that I'm fat, eat too much salt and I have a tiny hole in my eardrum!  He did some manipulation tests, hanging my head off the table several different ways and times, making me keep my eyes open- I think he just thought it was funny watching my eyes rattle around trying to find level!  Almost puked and broke-out in nausea induced sweats. Looking at a Fit Bit to tattle on me to myself on what I'm NOT doing enough of and log it so I can't fudge the numbers.  :(

Depends on how you feel about some of their practices. Troy makes quality stuff! Damn good and solid gear! But they have made some controversial decisions regarding cadre on their subsidiary Troy assymetrics. Check out this link-

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/08/daniel-zimmerman/what-the-hells-the-problem-with-troy-industries/

I own a Troy rifle and I love it... Just don't tell all my friends! I bought it before I knew any of this and I'm not going to just throw it away or sell it for half of what I have in it or not tell someone about Troys business practices to get its full value- basically, use your own judgement!

Agreed - that's how I am with "Spotted Cow" beer by New Glarus - love the beer, hate their politics!  They love Obummer!  No longer go outta my way to purchase it, unless I'm somewhere it's on tap (Wisconsin only) while I'm hunting or on vacation treating myself to a taste.

One aspect I didn't see addressed:

-vent stack
Mrs. 6 will appreciate it much more, if you use one, which has a diameter larger than the entry hole- path of least resistance is used by stench too!  With lid down and large vent, little stink at all!

Proposed warp avoidance method:

What if you welded a straight (bit larger) steel beam across the inside of the bumper horns that put them in outward pressure?  Then weld up the bumper alternating sides until completion and hammering each fresh weld.  The hammering method is something I've seen my father use to successfully weld cast iron which is notorious for cracking along the weld as it cools.  Then, just take your blue light saber and remove the brace(s) and you might have a warp free bumper?

So I've aquired vertigo and not the one by Hitchcock.  Increasing in frequency and severity to point while walking down hallway this afternoon, the wall on my left was at a 45 degree angle and leaned against me!  Never been in a heliocopter but imagine Don and Duane might have imparted similar effects to some cocky passengers.

Drove to Dr. In a Box, waiting with germ bags to get a appraisal of my condition - hoping for ear infection, fearing constricted arteries causing reduced blood flow to my lonely brain cell that's not effected yet.

Appreciate prayers for a vanilla diagnosis and treatment - also for safety of others and myself as I drive home- ride here I was line a dottering 90 something affraid to turn my head fast for fear of puking in my nice truck or curbing myself or some poor KIA driver sipping a machioto latte here in sheepleville.

Needs a catchy name like in the John Wayne movie, The Green Beret's, Provo's Privy.
So, "Crack-house" is out
The local dump is not so good either
I really wanted to put a urinal in there and place a picture of Jane Fonda in it...just like all the urinals in the old spec ops hangars I used to live in

Prayers for you and your family Blaine:

They are never here long enough and give us their unconditional love and joy of life!  What other creature will eat the most godawful thing and revel in its flavor, roll in pungent substance and wriggle with joy while they share the stench with you?  We may yell and discipline them, yet they wag their tails and lick at us like it never happened!  I think it no coincidence that they share the same letters in their name as God, because that is how they love us, and many will lay down their lives for their families.

Great table!  Also makes a great shooting bench!

I did notice one issue with the new Stihl though, that chain needs to be outta the dirt and actually around the bar for it to work......... ;D

Nice sounding cabin plan- Yoder is one of your more common names in the Amish community.  Friend of mine moved form So. Iowa to So. Missouri - his Farrier in IA was named Yoder; goes to find a local one in MO and HIS name is Yoder!

I look at the lay of your land now that it's cut, and I envision feed strips laid out around the edges, then start hearing the calls of Quail and think of running dogs!  You must be smack dab in the middle of Quail country down there.......and I also thought of a Still, in addition to the new Stihl, since you're in Bourbon Country as well.

Question: What is that stone behemoth- Outdoor grill/fireplace or what?  I'm talking about the one with the vines growing on it, not the fire ring.
