Walking Down the "Romans Road" to Salvation . . . .

• Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  (Romans 3:23)

• The Penalty for our sin is death.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

• The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 )

• If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins!
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  (Romans 10:13)
...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9,10)

Down here we have 2 Georgia's, Atlanta and the rest of us.  We used to have that lady congressperson from Atlanta, Cynthia McKinney.  Tells you how they think.  The rest of use are significantly more conservative but seemingly with a quite voice due to the cattle herded into Hotlanta.  The larger cities around the state such as Savannah and Albany are sickening dens of liberal iniquity that are following in the example Chicago and Detroit as hard as they can run.  The state went red but there are so many apathetic people out there that won't go vote and make their voices count.

Personally, I think that moving to a popular vote instead of the Electoral College would be a more direct indication of the will of the people.  The Electoral College was set up basically to speak for the voters as the communications were slow and people were not well informed about the goings on of government or the issues.  Well, all of that has certainly changed today with the internet and media being what it is.  There are so many low information voters (the ones who vote for whoever will give them something for free) that it will be hard (just like it is now due too apathy) for the silent majority to ever be heard because they will not get out to vote, figuring that someone else will do it.

There is a sticky in the thread called Emergency Bible Numbers that has a little chart with quick reference verses for some different situations that you may find helpful.

Pray seeking the Lord's will for your life.

Any update on your father?  How about your walk with the Lord?  Are you saved?
It is not the size of your faith but the quality of your faith that makes a difference.  The Holy Spirit is working on you.  I pray that there is someone close to you that you can speak with about this.  If not PM me and I will try to help you.

Matthew 17:20
Jesus says, "if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you"

The faith that we have comes from God.  When you doubt ask God for faith. The devil uses our past against us causing doubt.

Philippines 3:13-14
Brothers and sisters I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

I don't know what God's plan is.  His ways are higher than ours and we can't understand.  This kind of thing started with our sin nature back in Adam's day due to sin.  All we can do is pray and seek his will and be obedient.  Somehow God will be glorified in this situation.  He prepares us to interact with those he brings us into contact with through our wisdom and experience, both of which come from Him.  I know that this is not always comforting as we are going through trials and bad times but God has a plan that He will reveal in His time.  I will be praying for your dad and the family.

This scripture was put in the Word of the Day thread this morning by Texas Redneck

A Thorn in the Flesh - 2 Corinthians 12

7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself! 8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. 9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast [c]about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with [d]insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Psalms 97 ESV

10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
    He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown[a] for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.

12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

Before you buy, see what their recommendations are.  Some of the design takes uplift into account as well as bearing pressure in the event of weather events.  Also see what the manufacturer of the 2 post recommends.  Now is the time to get it how you need it to be.

When I played little league ball there was a tryout.  You made it or didn't.  There was no adding teams so everyone got a uniform.  Winning and being successful are hard work.  When all of the trophies look the same, there is no motivation to get better.

Can you harvest from somewhere else on site? You may be able to come down a little on one end to raise the other. If not check with a couple local haulers and site guys. Ask about a DOT pit.

I would get it to grade before forming.   Use 2x8 and put 2 inches of 57 stone in for base. Depending on grade and compaction you may not need much if any fill or sub base.

I have saved time and money at work (Corps of Engineer projects/ one was a tank maintenance bay) on slabs doing a mix with 3-4k strength and adding structural fiber to strengthen the concrete as opposed to rebar.  There are issues with rebar like Ken said and they add the fiber at the plant when they mix it and done.  I would go with the monolithic placement as you knock it out all at once.  The only thing you would need to install is the anchorage for the steel and any rough-in items.  Concrete is going to crack and sawing is like telling it where.

Need a roller as the dozer wouldn't achieve uniform compaction.  57 stone would be fine for the base.  Not sure what type sub base you have around to select from.  Something with some clay as moisture will help with the compaction.  How much you need to add on top of existing is based on the site selected.

It is not just you.  I just walked my job and found the ceiling guy didn't do what I asked.  There are valve marker tags mounted to the ceiling grid to show HVAC valve locations.  We are replacing the ceiling and I told him and showed him how to mark the floor and keep the tags.  he threw them away with the old grid and said "my bad".  Luckily, I only have to replace the tags.  I caught it in time to see the valves and mark them.  Many people do what is easy for them, not what is right or what they are instructed to do.

Don't need a lot of pressure.  I was surprised that the shop vac worked so well.  Later I was informed that you didn't want to use much as it could hurt something.  Don't recall what.

Last time I had to use a shop vac to pressurize the tank to push fuel through.  I must have pumped for an hour before I did that.  Once I pushed fuel up with the shop vac, it started right up.

If you are using head mounted NV, a momentary switch for a regular laser is a great help if you can't go IR.  Just ensure that you use momentary switch.  The IR laser is an awesome killing aid if you can get one.

Be as realistic as you can.  Like Don said. Practice.  Train as you will fight if you can.  Obviously you cant always wear all of your gear and weaponry while you move through the crowded city, but get as close to it as you can. You said you are getting a PVS14.  They work in the rain but with limitations.  Train with it.  It takes a little getting used to only having 1 eye covered but you will like it for depth perception when you get used to it.
