Martin Luther King was a great Republican, did you know that? I posted this political statement here in the faith section because today's Democratic party has become evil. Lovers of God are haters of evil. We find that evil things just grate at our spirit. We run up against it, and with no urging or even conscious thought, our defenses are up, and we are immediately aware we are in the presence of a devil spawned scheme. That is because we have the spirit of God living within us, and it is the opposite of evil.

This Man, this Senator captures those feelings so well, and expresses himself so well that it makes it clear that we must all flee from and fight against the schemes of this ever growing evil calling itself the DEMONcratic party.

Lets post up the flip-flop of the political elite, mostly Democrats, but some prominent Republicans as well. Lets highlight their hypocrisy and lies and call them out for the honorless people that they are!

Chuck Schumer in 2009:

-Americans don't like illegal immigration
-"Illegal immigration is wrong"
-People illegally in the U.S. are "illegal aliens," not "undocumented"
-Border fence made the southern border "far more secure...created a significant barrier to illegal immigration"

Commentary: After the Coup Is Over
February 16, 2019 Admin

by Julie Kelly

As the perpetrators of one of the most shameful scandals in American
political history begin slowly to retreat, we are left to ponder one
overarching question:
What now?
The tale we've been told for more than two years-that Donald Trump's
campaign team, possibly even the candidate himself, colluded with the
Kremlin to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election-has been
exposed as a lie. Various investigations into this alleged conspiracy are
coming up empty and the accomplices are trying to change the subject. Even
more pathetically, some still are clinging to the farce, desperate to
salvage whatever still remains of their already sketchy credibility.
To describe it as a witch hunt, the president's preferred term, is too
generous. The American public has witnessed a seditious attempt by powerful
interests garrisoned throughout our political complex to overthrow a sitting
U.S. president. The orchestrated and failed coup has exceeded the routine
combat of our two-party system, where out-of-power partisans disrupt and
agitate the other side. No, this has been a full-scale insurrection that has
violated the boundaries of law, normalcy, and civility in an unprecedented
way.
Both Democrats and Republicans have been complicit. The national news media
have acted as hatchet men. Influential public officials, operating both
inside and outside of government, have aided the stratagem. One of the main
culprits just revealed-no, bragged-how a handful of corrupt bureaucrats
plotted unlawfully to remove the president from the Oval Office based on the
fantastical scheme.
It's the kind of treachery that is supposed to animate banana republics or
Soviet-style regimes-not our country.
And now that the Senate Intelligence Committee confirmed this week that
their two-year investigation-which involved the interrogation of 200
witnesses and a review of 300,000 documents-will find no evidence of
collusion, the aftermath of this scandal is coming into view. How it plays
out is anyone's guess at this point, but one thing is evident: There is deep
rage at what has happened not just to this president but to this country-and
people want answers.
On his show Tuesday night, Tucker Carlson unleashed a tirade that reflected
the anger felt by millions of Americans. "In the end, it was all fake, and
they knew it wasn't real, they knew they were lying," Carlson said after
playing a series of clips by Democratic leaders accusing the president of
colluding with the Russians. "We've spent two years perpetuating a fraud and
they are still doing it. What is it? It's negligence on a stunning scale.
Historians will look back on this moment in amazement and sadness. Why
didn't any responsible person in the media say anything about it, why did
they collude in the charade?"
Carlson unloaded on House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff
(D-Calif.), one of the key conspirators from the beginning, insisting that
Schiff's grandchildren "will be ashamed of what he did." Perhaps they will.
But only if his progeny have more integrity and decency than Schiff does
which, I admit, sets a very low bar.
The cast of villains in this national nightmare is long. At the highest
echelon is the Obama White House; to date, no one knows how involved the
former president was in executing this scheme because not one journalist has
yet confronted Obama about what he knew or when he knew it. Think about that
for a moment. Barack Obama's Justice Department weaponized federal law
enforcement and intelligence powers to infiltrate and spy on a rival
presidential campaign then leveraged that same authority after the election
to raze an incoming administration, yet not one member of the press corps
has asked him one question about it.
Former administration officials who pulled all the strings, including ex-FBI
Director James Comey, ex-CIA Director John Brennan and ex-Director of
National Intelligence James Clapper continue to attack the president, even
accusing Trump of being a traitor and a Russian asset. Members of both the
Obama and Bush administrations have become media celebrities by legitimizing
the collusion fantasy on cable news shows and opinion pages. NeverTrump
Republicans who long ago should have been run out of the public square for
their consistently-wrong analysis on nearly every political and policy issue
over the past two decades have earned earn rock-star status on social media
from Democrats and liberals eager to exploit their nonstop rants about
Trump-Russia as proof "even Republicans" are suspicious.
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have diverted time, money, and
attention away from critical issues that matter to Americans in order to
chase after a ruse that most, if not all, knew was a head fake from the
start. It will be impossible to measure how many opportunities to fix
illegal immigration or health care or entitlement reform over the past two
years were lost while our political leaders across the country were mired in
a nonexistent crisis. And probably that was the point. The Justice
Department has diverted needed resources to a special counsel probe that has
nothing to do with the safety and security of the American people.
Meanwhile, Robert Mueller's investigation has not yielded one indictment
related to collusion, yet it has wrecked countless reputations and
livelihoods. Gutless elected officials have cowered in the presence of
representatives from this ostensible fourth branch of government while
Trump-Russia propagandists demand that every politician swear his allegiance
and fealty to the almighty and unaccountable Robert Mueller. Any hint of
disagreement with the special counsel is portrayed as either cowardice or
insubordination.
But no entity has acted more recklessly and destructively than the national
news media. From publishing illegally leaked information intended to destroy
anyone in Trump's orbit to ambushing elderly supporters of Donald Trump, the
media have defiled their industry to a degree that will be unrecoverable.
False reporting has been corrected quietly (when it is corrected at all) and
without any consequence. Sex-for-Trump-Russia-Scoop arrangements result in
promotions.
Consider these numbers: Since May 2017, the New York Times has cited the
Mueller investigation 4,392 times and posted nearly 1,200 articles, columns
and editorials about Russian collusion since January 2017. The Washington
Post has cited Robert Mueller 4,162 times and posted 1,100 pieces about
Russian collusion just in the past 12 months. CNN has devoted more than
3,000 articles and news segments to Robert Mueller since he was appointed.
Those are just the results of a few cursory searches.
But we will never know the total amount of air time, column inches and
social media chatter that have been dedicated to a fabricated conspiracy
peddled by a media infrastructure desperate to believe it was true and
maliciously trying to convince the public of a lie in a vain attempt to
satiate their own appetite for political revenge against Donald Trump.
So, what now? Who will pay the price for unleashing this ordeal on the
American public? Which lawmaker will be rebuked and censured for pretending
to have evidence of malfeasance that never happened? Which former high-level
official will be charged for abuse of power?
What journalist will be fired and permanently jettisoned from the industry
for intentionally misleading readers and viewers? What editor or media owner
will be held accountable for publishing illegally leaked information that
exacted real harm on innocent people? When will NeverTrumperers who accused
more astute observers of this scheme of being "conspiracy theorists" going
to apologize?
How will people harassed by the media and investigators restore their
professional standing, squandered savings and mental wellbeing? How can the
president regain the time in his term that has been lost to this craven
insurgency?
These are only a handful of the questions now arising from the wreckage of
the failed Trump-Russia collusion gambit; the answers might be just as
infuriating as the questions themselves.

This potent little missile is laser guided and packs a surprise in the warhead. In addition to the shaped charge penetrator, it has white phosphorus to burn everything. You can see the effect with all the secondaries as on board munitions start to cook off. If I heard right there were several other tanks a mile behind this one that backed way off and ran...Good idea!

This happened in the Helmand valley. He was stationed in that hellish place out of the British base, "Bastion" and the USMC attached base, "Leatherneck." I know that place well, having flown missions all over it for three years. For a man of our culture to set foot on the ground it is almost for certain that someone will try to kill you at some point. Tech/Electronics / Laptop GPS
« on: February 11, 2019, 10:11:48 AM »
I thought I'd put this subject here in this neglected segment of our otherwise active website.

So in kitting out the Suburban for the upcoming trip to distant patches of rock and dirt I will obviously be using a GPS quite a bit

I have many options here

1. I could buy an indash GPS/audio unit, but I can also anticipate limitations and a price tag over $1,000

2. I could buy an adaptive indash audio unit which connects to my phone and thus displays a map display and would offer navigation. However that system depends on the phone's ability to communicate with cell towers, and those simply will not exist in some of the locations we plan to drive to

3. I could mount a stand alone Garmin, magellan or Tom-Tom system on the dash and literally drive on. That could work virtually anywhere but those lack topo information so for the drive up and over the divide, 15 miles north of nowhere, it would offer little if anything

4. Which brings me to the system I am contemplating. I thought about mounting a mid sized laptop on a stalk in the cab, much the same as in police cars. Then add the GPS processor/antenna, and flush the hard drive with road and topo maps to my hearts content. I would also have MS Office and the ability to fetch the interweb to find out which Dave is screwin' with my website at the moment.

Leaning at the moment toward option numba quatro, The Delorme systems come to mind. A do it all system, they also garner some good negative comments along with their sizeable capability.

So I'm wonderin' which system should I equip "Raven 8" with?

Here's an interesting back story you may not have heard about the battle of Chosin Reservoir.

The 68th Anniversary of the Korean War "Chosin Few".....

The Tootsie Roll Marines On November 26, 1950, 10,000 men of the First Marine Division, along with elements of two Army regimental combat teams, a detachment of British Royal Marine commandos and some South Korean policemen were completely surrounded by over ten divisions of Chinese troops in rugged mountains near the Chosin Reservoir. Chairman Mao himself had ordered the Marines annihilated, and Chinese General Song Shi-Lun gave it his best shot, throwing human waves of his 120,000 soldiers against the heavily outnumbered allied forces. A massive cold front blew in from Siberia, and with it, the coldest winter in recorded Korean history. For the encircled allies at the Chosin Reservoir, daytime temperatures averaged five degrees below zero, while nights plunged to minus 35 and lower.

Jeep batteries froze and split. C-rations ran dangerously low and the cans were frozen solid. Fuel could not be spared to thaw them. If truck engines stopped, their fuel lines froze. Automatic weapons wouldn't cycle. Morphine syrettes had to be thawed in a medical corpsman's mouth before they could be injected. Precious bottles of blood plasma were frozen and useless. Resupply could only come by air, and that was spotty and erratic because of the foul weather.

High Command virtually wrote them off, believing their situation was hopeless. Washington braced for imminent news of slaughter and defeat. Retreat was hardly an option; not through that wall of Chinese troops. If the Marines defended, they would be wiped out So they formed a 12-mile long column and attacked.

There were 78 miles of narrow, crumbling, steeply-angled road and 100,000 Chinese soldiers between the Marines and the sea at Hungnam. Both sides fought savagely for every inch of it. The march out became one monstrous, moving battle.

The Chinese used the ravines between ridges, protected from rifle fire, to marshal their forces between attacks. The Marines' 60-millimeter mortars, capable of delivering high, arcing fire over the ridgelines, breaking up those human waves, became perhaps the most valuable weapon the Marines had. But their supply of mortar rounds was quickly depleted. Emergency requests for resupply were sent by radio, using code words for specific items. The code for 60mm mortar ammo was "Tootsie Rolls"but the radio operator receiving that urgent request didn't have the Marines' code sheets. All he knew was that the request came from command authority, it was extremely urgent and there were tons of Tootsie Rolls at supply bases in Japan.

Tootsie Rolls had been issued with other rations to US troops since World War I, earning preferred status because they held up so well to heat, cold and rough handling compared to other candies.

Tearing through the clouds and fog, parachutes bearing pallet-loads of Tootsie Rolls descended on the Marines. After initial shocked reactions, the freezing, starving troops rejoiced. Frozen Tootsies were thawed in armpits, popped in mouths, and their sugar provided instant energy. For many, Tootsie Rolls were their only nourishment for days. The troops also learned they could use warmed Tootsie Rolls to plug bullet holes in fuel drums, gas tanks, cans and radiators, where they would freeze solid again, sealing the leaks.

Over two weeks of unspeakable misery, movement and murderous fighting, the 15,000-man column suffered 3,000 killed in action, 6,000 wounded and thousands of severe frostbite cases. But they reached the sea, demolishing several Chinese divisions in the process. Hundreds credited their very survival to Tootsie Rolls. Surviving Marines called themselves "The Chosin Few," and among themselves, another name: The Tootsie Roll Marines. Join me in sharing their story and some Tootsie Rolls

What if the Deep State wins? Survival in a Post-Trump Heavily Centralized Socialist Police State
Put aside your personal feelings, good or bad, about President Trump for a moment. The undeniable fact is, he won't be President forever. At some point Trump's Presidency will end - by impeachment, coup, death, defeat in 2020, or when his second term expires in 2024.

Regardless of when or how Trump leaves office, the deep state, the political class, the DC insiders. the collectivists, the socialists, the political & social activists, and the anti-Western elites in business, academia & the media will still be there. They will not have given up. They will not have gone away. And they will be extremely enthusiastic and energized to get their agenda back on track. So, how do we prepare for the consequences of the elites and deep state regaining full control once again?

The Rise of a Highly-Centralized, Politically-Correct, Socialist/Fascist Police State

Its not hard to predict where the Elites are wanting to take us. Just look at where Obama was pushing us. And where Hillary was going to push us had she won in 2016. And where the Dems are openly saying they will push us. Just look at where recent social, political, business, and technological trends are taking us.  Just look at the open hostility towards traditional values and beliefs. Just look at the attempts by Big Tech to shut out conservative and Christian voices, or any voice that doesn't totally embrace the politically-correct leftist agenda. Just look at the messages being beamed into our heads on a daily basis by movies, TV, music, and other aspects of pop culture. And I could go on and on. Those of us who are not aware of where they are wanting to take us can only have chosen to be willfully ignorant.

Here's what is coming our way once the Elites regain full control:

Economic Issues
Higher taxes on the middle class (probably much, much higher)
Higher taxes on big business and the wealthy (but with plenty of loopholes for their tax attorneys to wiggle through)
Higher taxes on small business (but without the loopholes)
Much higher level of environmental regulations
Much higher level of social justice regulations
Continuing growth of the National Debt
Renewed attempts at Nationalized Healthcare
All the above will lead to much slower economic growth and higher unemployment, as well as a shrinking middle-class
Loss of Privacy / Greater Police State Surveillance
Even greater power and influence for Big Tech and large corporations
Greater cooperation between government, Big Tech, and large corporations, to our detriment
Government will grandstand against Big Tech, but they want your data (and control over information) just as badly as Big Tech does, so they won't actually do anything stop Big Tech, as long as Big Tech mostly cooperates with their plans
New technologies enabling greater and more effective police state surveillance (facial recognition, closer monitoring of Internet activities, tracking of cars, cell phones, even chips in our trash cans to enforce environmental regulations, among other things)
A Chinese-style social rating system, in which you will need to exhibit certain politically-approved behaviors in order to get loans, get jobs, get a passport, get housing, get into college, and do almost anything in life - ultimate control by the government over you life
Loss of Freedoms (for our own good)
Loss of Free Speech rights, primarily through "hate speech" and "anti-bullying" laws, along with cooperation of Big Tech to suppress politically incorrect speech (another reason government will never really move against Big Tech)
Most millennials have already been turned against Free Speech, having been taught that it is just an excuse for "hate." This trend will continue.
Loss of Freedom of Religion (again, in the name of stopping "hate") along with continually redefining it as mere freedom of worship (see my 2015 article on this subject)
Loss of a Free Press as government allows Big Tech to do their dirty work by deplatorming, demonetizing, and otherwise freezing out all but the "main-stream" (corporate) media
Loss of Second Amendment rights (note the increasing popularity of "Red Flag" laws to get guns out of the hands of people with "mental health  issues" along with the American Psychological Association's recent declaration that "traditional masculinity" such as ambition and competitiveness is harmful - they plan to take away our guns without ever having to repeal the Second Amendment)
Other Issues
Weaker military
Open borders, uncontrolled immigration
Attacks on patriotism
Attacks on traditional Western culture, values and beliefs
Attacks on the traditional family unit and traditional gender roles
I could make this list much longer, but you get the point.  Here is what should really scare you: None of the above is "conspiracy theory." It is actual trends and actual openly-stated plans. All of it has been happening, is still happening, and will only happen much more after the Elites regain control.

After Trump won the Presidency in 2016, most preppers breathed a sigh of relief and slowed-down their prepping, if not stopping it altogether. The reality is, Trump's victory did nothing more than perhaps buy us a little more time to prep. The dangers have only been delayed, not eliminated.

Fighting Back Against the Elites and the Deep State

Do I think all hope is lost? No. But it is not going to be easy to stop what is coming. It is going to take more than just winning an election. The forces we are fighting are deeply committed, deeply entrenched, and highly motivated. They have power, money, and influence. And they have the numbers in key positions (they control most corporate boards, most of the mainstream media, most of academia, and most of the government bureaucracy).

Here is what we need to be doing to fight back: Get out of the system. The less dependent you are on the system, the more you will be able to resist what is coming. Elections matter, even if it is to only buy time, so get informed and vote! Control of the Judiciary is critical. Judgeships matter deeply. Be very active in local politics and talk to local officials. Influence your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and fellow church members. Men, lead your family and teach your children. Don't give in to worldly ways, modern sensibilities, and political correctness.

Be especially wary of polices and laws that can be used as a "backdoor" to limit or take away our Freedoms. Hate speech laws allow the government to define "hate" however they wish. School anti-bullying policies more often are used to prevent your children from wearing a patriotic shirt ("bullying" immigrants) rather than stopping a real bully from taking your kid's lunch money. Red Flags laws have "gun confiscation" written all over them, especially in light of the APA's recent willingness to define traditional masculine traits as harmful.

Survival in a Highly-Centralized, Politically-Correct, Socialist/Fascist Police State

Self-reliance is the key. The more self-reliant you and your family are, the less you will be affected by what is coming. Do everything you can to build as much self-reliance as you can while there is still time. I've written a lot on self-reliance, so check out those articles.

Get out of the system. The less you need the system, the less you will be controlled by it. Examples:
Homeschooling is better than private schools is better than public schools.
Working for yourself is better than working for a small business is better than working for a large corporation.
Owning out-right is better than paying a mortgage is better than renting.
A credit union is better than a small regional  bank is better than a big national bank.
Paying cash is better than a credit card.
Taking care of your health is better than needing a hospital.
Living in a small rural community is better than living in a city is better than living in a mega-city.
And the list could go on and on. Its not easy getting out of the system, and may be impossible to do so completely, but shed yourself of as much of the system as you can.

Privacy is paramount. The more I study what is going on, the more I realize the importance of privacy, and how difficult it is to guard.  I also think privacy is one of the most overlooked aspects of prepping. Think about and take steps to protect your privacy, both online and in real life.

From my article Operational Security - Part 3: Countermeasures:  "Children, especially young children, tell EVERYTHING to their friends, schoolmates, teachers, neighbors, and other parents (even if you've told them not to). Be especially aware of what you reveal to them, and remember that they do have ears and overhear a lot more than you might think. Remind them often that privacy is important and that they shouldn't share certain information with others. There have been many news stories in recent years of schools quizzing students about their home life, including asking about topics such as the parent's political views and if there are guns in the home. Tell your kids to answer "I don't know, you'll have to ask mommy and daddy about that" and to tell you who was asking those type questions. Review this with them often (they quickly forget)."

It feels surreal.

I sit here at my desk just thinking, how did all this evil happen to my country? Why did good people give way to the evil doers? This abortion law signed and "lied" into existence in New York is legalizing murder of innocents. Imagine someone has a delivery day of tomorrow, but gets an abortion today. It's not only legal, its celebrated as some sort of heroic statement by women's rights activists! Its cold blooded murder of defenseless children!

God in heaven, how does this happen amongst your people? And Father God, please help me understand how you can love those people as much as those who worship you? Man, I just don't understand and am really struggling with this and what amounts of a tsunami of stupidity and evil wiping out my America.

You gotta understand, I jocked up many a time with my dirty american flag on my shoulder and went into harm's way thinking my nation is more important than what might befall me. Some things are worth dying for, I have said many times in my mind. But now I have to ask myself, would I want to fight to preserve our right to murder children? Would it be worth the separation from my wife and kids to protect the right of some transvestite to insult my God? Is it worth risking a young soldier to ensure junkies in Portland have the right to shoot up?

I keep coming up with: HELL NO! Let the SOB's die! If the nation has really become a place where we celebrate abominations, then how can I honor that?

I still think gay marriage is W A Y wrong. I am not comfortable with abortion at any time. I can't believe our congress has fakes and liars, not just a few but a bunch of them. Men who said they served in Vietnam and didn't? And I am supposed to honor and respect them! No, I won't. I'd rather piss on them! We have a woman senator who claims she is native American and is not, and is running for president! Hell, let the Chinese invade and overturn this foul government, then we patriots can run them off and rebuild a righteous nation. And if we perish in the midst of the fight, OK, then, was a good run and better than preserving the right to kill innocents.

The tail is wagging the dog! Idiots who hate our freedoms are in control. And as a law abiding, non-violent person I am forced into a smaller and smaller corner every day. They just keep pecking at us. Can't say this, can't love our God in our public places. Please explain to me why the right of an atheist trumps the right of a Christian? Are we not all equal? We don't uphold our laws, but manipulate them through liars (attorneys) to be used in ways they are not intended to. This is crazyland, and Father, how is this possible? If we the Christians of this nation pray our hearts out and repent, and still see things like this law in New York, well, Father, it really stretches my faith. I want it all struck down. I want to see these efforts fail and those who hate you to feel your wrath. Why isn't that happening?

California is gone, fallen off the cliff of common sense, and taking a lot of good people with it? Chicago is in a perpetual backwards day. Killing up, take more guns away from good people. Hell, take them away from the cops too and issue them flowers. Is anyone with a brain still out there? Is this some simulation I am living in where I can't set aside reason, but everyone else is willing to at the drop of a hat. Honestly, father, bring judgement on this nation if it continues to seek and exalt Satan. Or, actually, just bring judgement on those who follow the devil and maybe leave the rest of us alone.

I am really sick of this slide toward evil that everyone seems not to notice. I am sick of cowardice by so many, or perhaps its complacency, Lord. If so, then how about shaking up things some. Please do not allow evil to take any comfort or rest anywhere inside these shores. I see voices in congress, muslim voices, in our congress speaking out against Israel. Our congress, who represents the people of our country speaking against your chosen people. Like the money changers (Bankers) in your father's temple, Jesus, throw them out!

How do I fight to my front, and my sides and maintain vigilance behind me? I/we are few it seems, or we just don't care to do anything about all this change toward dark things. How can we maintain this fight around the clock? And all the while the enemy only grows stronger? We need you Father, for in you there are no defeats, only victories. Please bring us to the place where we stand with the angels and put an end to all this evil. Let truth triumph and rule here in my land.

OK, so I am going to hide this down in the intelligence section. It will be a read only information source.

Revelation 6:12-14
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

The polar shift is a naturally reoccurring phenomena that is well documented in the geological record. It is currently overdue and apparently happening in our lifetime, as in now.

Nothing good with respect to the biological life occurs during the change, and recovery afterward is largely dependent on what is left in the deck of cards. For example, in the past, hundreds of years long polar shifts have produced two poles (A di-pole) system and magnosphere like we have now, but there is also record of a 4-pole, an 8 pole and even a 16 pole magnosphere. With each doubling the magnosphere halves in strength and creates spots of nearly no protection.

Unfortunately something is happening which suggests more that two poles may be forming. Research: South Pacific anomaly to read about a hole in our magnetosphere and now our atmosphere that covers 1/5th of the earth's surface where the sun's UV rays are much stronger at the surface. The space station when passing over the anomaly often observe odd bright flashes of light which have been linked to high energy solar wind bursts reaction to our atmosphere. Please note that the solar wind does not normally reach our atmosphere.

So what does all this mean to us? Well, it is of such a magnitude, I'm not sure there is anything we can do about it, but for some reason, I feel as though I should share the information with those who would visit our website. Information and articles and tracking data follows in subsequent postings

As an Aviator, I have noted this for some time. In my Army flying days we had to correct our headings for the magnetic declination to fly a true course. That has been pretty normal. Back in the 80's that change amounted to perhaps 0.2 degrees per year, so referencing a ten year old map, one would calculate a two degree change, addition or subtraction to the drawn heading.

But

Now that change is becoming huge. The change is calculated off of the actual position of magnetic north vs its previously known position. Unfortunately now, the north pole is moving so fast that runways all over are changing their approach headings by 10 degrees and getting ready to change again. That's like hundreds of years of change based on old rknown rates of change. Something is definitely happening and its big.

It appears as though the north pole is now over northern Siberia! And the south pole is over the southern Indian ocean and is moving north. None of that is good. But it is so bad that one might not consider it at all, and just go on living their lives as if it doesn't exist. We are in a pole shift with the associated weakening (measured already) magnosphere so it is what it is. Just sharing...

So as the President thumbs his nose at the global warming reports, we are again experiencing record low temps. I still don't understand the science behind something gettin' hotter can actually produce the lowest recorded temps in history. Must be a part of LS (Lefty Science).

So let's see who amongst this august group suffered moster than the rest of us.

I'm currently sittin' at +17F, but cold day for we hillbillies is tomorrow.

1-Eleven teens die each day because of texting while driving.  Maybe it's time to raise the age of Smartphone ownership to 21.

2-If gun control laws actually worked, Chicago would be Mayberry.

3-The Second Amendment makes more women equal than the entire feminist movement.

4-Legal gun owners have 300 million guns and probably a trillion rounds of ammo.  Seriously, folks, if we were the problem, you'd know it.

5-When JFK was killed, nobody blamed the rifle.

6-The NRA murders 0 people and receives $0 in government funds. Planned Parenthood kills 350,000 babies every year and receives $500,000,000 in tax dollars annually.

7- Have no problem with vigorous background checks when it comes to firearms.  While we're at it, let's do the same when it comes to immigration and voter I.D.

8-You don't need a smoke detector; that's what the fire department is for.  Now...If you think that sounds stupid, you know how I feel when you say I don't need a gun.

9- Folks keep talking about another Civil War. One side knows how to shoot and has a trillion bullets. The other side has crying closets and is confused about which bathroom to use. How do you think that's going to end?

Hopefully I can stay ahead of the non related postings and offer some continuity to what I am building. In part 1, although I was building a LS engine, we were taking pages to chat about Cummins powered Nissans with AAM axles.

Ya, I know, I don't see the correlation either...

So I left the park over there a couple pages from the end of the mindless chatter, where I was getting ever deeper into this Suburban project. Hoping it does not turn into an "Oil-Change" and returns to being driveable, I press ever onward

With the engine secured to the HD stand I use for Cummins engines, I broke it down to just the short block

All great stories told by aviators, Army Aviators to be specific begin something like, There I was, almost out of fuel, attitude indicator all junked up, I was inverted, air medals dangling in my face... Like that!

Flying can create circumstances for some darned funny stuff to happen. Military flying can be stressful, dangerous, and really push your limits now and then. So when something unexpected happens, everyone blows off some steam and gets a good laugh.

We had been talking about telling stories on the "Chinook" picture thread, and I thought I'd just start a thread right here designed for nothing more than good stories. I hardly know where to start, so I guess I'll tell you about a crew chief who always seemed to get himself into trouble.

Following a long field training exercise the Chinooks were air lifting everything from PZ's (Pickup zones) and taking them to their destinations, LZ's (Landing Zones) The place was Korea, where I spent two one year tours, one in 87-88. You may recall that the olympics were held in Seoul that year and I guess I got to participate in the preparation for that event. So at the time I was flying CUWTF (Combined unconventional warfare task force) flying both US and South Korean Special Forces. Without getting into any detail, lets just say we were part of a 911 police force in the event anything bad happened.

The Chinooks were leaned on heavily to move construction stuff and folks around to the various venues, and guys like me were practicing responding to various emergencies. One of our Chinooks actually jumped the opening ceremony sky divers who jumped the five olympic rings which were done in smoke. If you look at the tape you will see one of our birds at 10,000 feet with the jumpers exiting.

So one day my crew and I were working with the "bubbas", jumping them into a stadium downtown Seoul from high altitude. Thing was, I picked the jumpers up from a LZ miles away and then climbed up and over the drop zone before releasing them. This time we had, let us say, some highly sensitive people on board and they called for extraction from the stadium.

I circled that thing a couple of times noting there was no good place to land. The crewchief said he thought I could land next to a building like thing that was erected to seat the judges for whatever event was going to happen there. I didn't like it, but a Korean police guy on the ground kept waving me in to land. So I did, started my approach to a point maybe a hundred feet from that structure. Everything was going OK until I flared a bit at the bottom and added a little power and all at once the grandstand plywood thing started to shake. I had nowhere to go, knowing if I added any power to go around I'd probably do some damage. Well as we came to a hover, the thing shook violently and then just like that broke up into a million pieces!

It was amazing, the thing turned into confetti and all that was left to show that anything had ever been there other than the debris raining down all over was this single pigtail of electrical cable sticking up out of the ground. As I lowered the thrust to the ground position and the big bird settled down on its struts, I looked out to see that cop standing in front of me with a classic WTF just happened look on his face. Poor guy, looked like he was just sentenced to life imprisionment.

So as the rotor blades coasted to a stop, the customers came walking up to climb onboard and this cop came over, note pad in hand and was writing something while cussing in Korean. My Korean customers were chuckling so I called over one that I knew well, Sergeant Kim. I asked him, "What's he saying, Sgt Kim?

HE said, "He say nothing good, Say you in big trouble, say you under arrest." So I thought I'd have a little fun with the guy before leaving, so I instructed sergeant Kim to have the guys come over, and they did. I asked Kim to tell him that he has angered me and I am considering having both his legs broken by you guys. Kim did and as he motioned the circular motion I watched the cops eyes scan around him, noting he was surrounded by special forces guys. The cop stopped talking then backed up until his back was resting on the aircraft fuel tank. He then slid down the length of the tank until he was clear of the last soldier, then turned and took off like a jack rabbit.

We cranked back up and went along our merry way, never to see that cop again.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / I find this to be fundamentally true

A few months ago, Jack Minzey, sent what was to be the final chapter in the long line of books and treatises which he had written.

Jack went to be with the Lord,  on Sunday, 8 April 2018.

Professionally, Jack was head of the Department of Education at Eastern Michigan University as well as a prolific author of numerous books, most of which were on the topic of Education and the Government role therein.  His interest in Conservative Politics was exceeded  only  by his intellectual ability.

This is the last of his works:

Civil War

How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can't settle the question through elections because they don't even agree that elections are how you decide who's in charge.  That's the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win. It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.

That's a civil war.

There's no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn't dissent. It's not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they're the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don't win, what you want is a dictatorship.

Your very own dictatorship.

The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it's inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can't scratch his own back without his say so, that's the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse him. That's how the game is played That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight.

When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren't even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries.

The Constitution has something to say about that.

Whether it's Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can't serve in if you're not a member. If you haven't been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren't in the club. And Trump isn't in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren't in the club with him.

Now we're seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That's not a free country.

It's not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an 'insurance policy' against Trump winning the election. It's not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It's not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It's not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn't supposed to win did.

Have no doubt, we're in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government.

Somewhat dated but seems to be correct if you look at the trend line. God Bless the good people of the United States of America!

Time is like a river.  You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.  Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, when he said America will not come back.  He wrote:

"The American dream ended on November 6th, 2012.  The second term of Barack Obama has been the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled
and developed the greatest republic in the history of mankind.

A coalition of blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the"forever needy, "the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other "fellow travelers" have ended Norman Rockwell's America.

You will never again out-vote these people.  It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away.  It will take zealots, not moderates and shy, not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.

People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will probably never again be able to legally

comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture,
our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.

The Cocker spaniel is off the front porch, the pit bull is in the back yard  The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and the likes of Chicago shyster David Axelrod along with international socialist George Soros have been pulling the strings on their beige puppet and have brought us Act 2 of the New
World Order.

The curtain will come down but the damage has been done, the story has been told.

Those who come after us will once again have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and
political correctness.."

Got the guts to pass it on?  You bet I do and just did....

From a Vietnam veteran of that war. I did not participate in that one, but I sure flew a ton of hours with those brave souls!

Subject: A tribute to the Army's first generation of combat helicopter flight crews

Not really sure who penned this but sent to me by a 116th member.

(Yes, by God, we flew in Vietnam and we were winning when I left.)

By J.C. Pennington

As we get older and we experience the loss of old friends, we begin to realize that maybe we ten-foot tall, bulletproof Army aviators (and crew)won’t live forever. We aren’t so bulletproof anymore. We ponder… if I we’re gone tomorrow, “Did I say what I wanted to my Brothers?” The answer is “No!” Hence, the following random thoughts:

When people ask me if I miss flying, I always say something like, “Yes, I miss the flying because when you are flying, you are totally focused on the task at hand. It’s like nothing else you will ever do (almost). ” But then I always say, “However, I miss the unit and the guys even more than I miss the flying.”

Why, you might ask? They were a bunch of aggressive, wiseass, cocky, insulting, sarcastic bastards in smelly flight suits! They drank too much, they chased women, they flew when they shouldn’t, they laughed too loud and thought they owned the sky, the bar, and generally thought they could do everything better than the next guy. Nothing was funnier than trying to screw with a buddy and see how pissed off they would get. They flew helicopters that leaked, that bled RPM, that broke, that couldn’t hover, that burned fuel too fast, that never had all the radios and instruments working, and with systems that were archaic next to today’s new generation aircraft.

But a little closer look might show that every guy in the room was sneaky smart and damned competent and brutally handsome in his own way! They hated to lose or fail to accomplish the mission and seldom did. They were the laziest guys on the planet until challenged and then they would do anything to win. They would fly with rotor blades overlapped at night through the worst weather with only a little position light to hold on to, knowing their flight lead would get them on the ground safely. They would fight in the air knowing the greatest risk and fear was that some NVA anti-aircraft gunner would wait 'til you flew past him and open up on your six o’clock with tracers as big as softballs. They would fly in harm’s way and act nonchalant as if to challenge the grim reaper.

When we flew to another base we proclaimed that we're the best unit on the base as soon as we landed. Often we were not invited back. When we went into a bar, we owned the bar. We were lucky to be the Best of the Best in the military. We knew it and so did others. We found jobs, lost jobs, got married, got divorced, moved, went broke, got rich, broke some things, and knew the only thing you could count -- really count on -- was if you needed help, a fellow Army Aviator would have your back.

I miss the call signs, nicknames and the stories behind them.

I miss getting lit up in an O’ or NCO’ Club full of my buddies and watching the incredible, unbelievable things that were happening. I miss the crew chiefs waiting as you got to your ship for a Zero-Dark:30 preflight. I miss pulling an armful of pitch, nosing it over and climbing into a new dawn. I miss going straight up and straight down. I miss the tension of wondering what today's 12 hours of combat flying would bring. I miss the craps table in the corner of the O-Club and letting it ALL ride because money was meaningless. I miss listening to BS stories while drinking and laughing until my eyes watered. I miss three man lifts. I miss naps on the platoon hootch porch with a room full of aviators working up new tricks to torment the sleeper. I miss rolling in hot and watching my rockets hit EXACTLY where I was aiming. I miss the beauty and precision of a flight of slicks in formation, rock steady even in the face of tracers flying past you from a hot LZ. I miss belches that could be heard in neighboring states. I miss showing off for the grunts with high-speed, low level passes and abrupt cyclic climbs. I even miss passengers in the back puking their guts up.

Finally, I miss hearing In-Coming! called out at the bar and seeing and hearing a room full of men hit the deck with drinks spilling and chairs being knocked over as they rolled in the beer and kicked their legs in the air—followed closely by a Not Politically Correct Tap Dancing and Singing spectacle that couldn’t help but make you grin and order another round.

I am a lucky guy and have lived a great life!

One thing I know is that I was part of a special team of guys doing something dangerous and doing it better than most. Flying the most beautiful, ugly, noisy, solid helicopters ever built… an aircraft that talked to you and warned you before she spanked you! Supported by really talented Crew Chiefs and Gunners committed to making sure we came home! Being prepared to fly and fight and die for America. Having a clear mission, clear vision, and having fun.

We box out bad memories from various missions and events most of the time but never the hallowed memories of our fallen comrades. We are often amazed at how good war stories never let truth interfere and how they get better with age. We are lucky bastards to be able to walk into a reunion or a bar and have men we respect and love shout our names, our call signs, and know that this is truly where we belong.

We are ARMY AVIATORS and CREWMEMBERS. We are Few and we are Proud to have been one of the first combat helicopter FLIGHTS CREWS the world ever saw.

I am Privileged and Proud to call you Brothers. Clear Right! Clear Left! Pullin' Pitch!

Don Comment: I think it's important to note for factual accuracy what happened on the first day of this new congress. Most notably, Islam now has the electoral power in some states to place law makers into congress. Congress is the place where laws are created. Laws like hate crimes which elevate the needs of the gay community above those of the elderly, and gun control, and tickling with the right to free speech.
Also, I noted a move away from our Lord, God almighty who protects us. I noted open hostility against the Jewish nation, another anti-Christian activity. An infection that kills one can start with a little scratch!
But who do we have to champion our love of freedom and of being a Christian? The republicans? In my view, collectively they have failed us miserably with so many flipping on major, bedrock issues. Who has the courage anymore to just say the truth and stand up for what is right? That concept and being political are really polar opposites. Trump is the closest thing we have to someone who actually champions a cause, and the case for the very preservation of our very culture. I say when the democrats (Socialists/communists) gain sufficient power, our freedoms will topple, and people everywhere will revolt and our nation will be destroyed in street to street violence.

Yesterday was a big day in Washington.  As newly-elected members of Congress were sworn in, control of the House of Representatives flipped from Republican to Democrat.

While this is usually a run-of-the-mill process, a lot of things happened yesterday that should concern anyone who cherishes American values and who was hoping for compromise from the new Congress.

Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) refused to take her oath of office onthe Bible. Instead she used a law book.  I don't know which law book, but I do know this:  Long after the senator and whatever book she took her oath on are gone, the word of God will endure.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) took her oath on what she called "Jefferson's Koran."  She said, "Some of our Founding Fathers knew more about Islam than some members of Congress now."  Obviously she doesn't know very much.  Jefferson got a translation of the Koran so he could understand the Islamic Barbary Pirates against whom he would later, as president, wage war.  Thus the phrase, "To the shores of Tripoli" in the Marines' Hymn.  But she is probably right -- the Founders understood what many elites today do not:  Radical Islam is a deadly threat to freedom.
Unfortunately, Tlaib wasn't done.  She later went to a reception sponsored by the radical groupMoveOn.org.  Referring to a conversation she had with her young son about her election, Rep. Tlaib declared, "We're gonna go in there and impeach the motherf---er.'"
And there's more.  The world map on the wall in Rep. Tlaib's office had a Post-It note on it labeled "Palestine" over the state of Israel.
Rep. Tlaib is not the only newly elected member of Congress who is hostile to Israel.  Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) lied to her constituents about her support for efforts to boycott and sanction Israel.  The election of these two Muslim women, along with socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez(D-NY), has been hailed by cultural and media elites as "the wave of the future."  Just to be clear, they are celebrating the victory of anti-Semites.  Some future.
Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) posted the transgender flag outside of her office.  (Yes, they have a flag.)
Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) introduced a constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College.
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump.
Not to be out done, Nancy Pelosi made history herself by becoming the first woman to become Speaker of the House twice.  And the first bill she pushed through the House late last night was an appropriation bill that gave an additional $12 billion in foreign aid to multiple countries and provided more money to promote abortions overseas, but did not provide one dime for better border security to protect American citizens.
And that, my friends, was just Day One of the new Democrat House

This build is of a storage cabinet featuring two long drawers and two compartments the size of small dresser drawers. The intent is to store things out of the way in an organized manner, and still retain the floor space for cargo, or in this case, turn it into a sleeping area with a foam mattress

First up, I created the base from 3/4" pine

The vehicle is a 2002 Suburban

The build thread for that is here:
