Tires, Wheels, and Suspension / Steel wheels or Aluminum?
« on: December 20, 2018, 03:08:59 PM »
Not so far away from purchasing tires and wheels for the 2500 Suburban.

I am totally unimpressed by all these super costly gaudy aluminum wheels sending young people into debt.

I think I like the low cost and utility of a basic steel wheel. THought I'd get a 17X9 steelie, paint it Farm-all gray mount up the tires with beads inside and call it GTG.

Steelies can be replaced inexpensively or straightened if banged up runnin' over jap cars.

Thoughts?

Kinda hope this doesn't get real, but the patriot and communist hater in me tells me it might...

james comey is bragging about how he suckered mike flynn into a perjury trap….he’s running around in the main stream media bragging about it….bragging about how he took advantage of the confusion of a new administration…bragging about how he broke the rules because there was no one to notice he was breaking the rules in place yet…..why is he still free???….why is he not locked up..???

he’s running around admitting he broke the law…and he’s free to keep running around admitting he broke the law…and no one gives a crap…..he laughs about it, and brags about how smart he was…..yeah, right…..

because he’s a hero of the resistance, and also because he has some kind of job security and/or pension protection on account of bean a government employee….

but mostly….

BECAUSE THEY ARE SHOWING US THEIR POWER….THEY ARE IN OUR FACE, AND THEY BELIEVE THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT…..

this is a time of decision, and i hate it…..

i do not want to go to war……i don’t want to lose my country, either…..this is where we are today….

we can settle for being serfs, and let them rule over us….

or we can assert our rights as free citizens…..

this is going to get ugly, and i don’t like it…

it’s not US who are driving us to this point…..

it’s the God-Damned leftist progressives who will start this war….

they claimed, once upon a time, that they only wanted live-and-let-live acceptance…..

nowadays, if you are not THEM, you have no rights whatever….

in mel gibson’s movie “the patriot,” he plays a warrior who hates war, and is toadly against a new war against britain, because he knows what that means, having “been there, done that”

THAT is what i am talking about….this is going to get out of hand, and it is going to get ugly…

ya know, i can remember when my son told me i was silly to believe in the “slippery slope”….

it’s not “A” slippery slope….it’s 20,000 slippery slopes…and we’re sliding down all of them, simultaneously…..

on purpose, so as you can’t keep track of what they’re doing……

commies gonna commie…..and they been commying for a long long time…..

“hope i die before i get old”… oh wait…too late…..

hope i die before this gets real…..

not very hopeful about that….i’m in pretty good health, over all….kinda old but not “shovel ready” quite yet….i spect i’m gonna hafta see at least the beginnings of this new civil war….

what i would like to find is a way to stop the leftist progressives from pushing us over the edge, into a civil war…..i don’t think they are interested in that…i think they WANT a war…..every thing they do makes me think they want a war – a real, shooting war, here, in our country…..

i hate them……i am a christian and i know i am not supposed to hate….but i hate them, just like i hate satan and his demons….they think they rule the world…..they think they can do whatever they want…

…and then….somebody shows up who tells them to go back to hell, with the power to send them back to hell….know what happens???

Donald Trump happens…..

……….:)

which is nice for a while….but then…

you end up in the shooting war anyway, because THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT DEFEAT……

THEY WILL KILL YOU BEFORE THEY ACCEPT DEFEAT…..

Powerplant, Driveline, and Braking / Crazy town: Fuel injection or Carb?
« on: December 18, 2018, 11:50:43 AM »
Ya know, I am at a crossroads

I could stay on track, buy the TBSS intake ($250), adapt the fuel rail ($50), get a 90mm TB($250) buy the adapter cable ($250)
Procure 36 pph injectors ($175), Get some tuning ($200+ $600) and maybe some more tuning (???) and get this thing going

or

I could buy an edelbrock intake and carb and MSD timing thingahmulator and also be done with it with no need for future tuning. ($1000) Hmmm...

Powerplant, Driveline, and Braking / Head gaskets...
« on: December 18, 2018, 10:11:57 AM »
For my 6.0 LQ4 engine build with 243 heads, which head gaskets should I be looking at?

The 243 heads bump my compression from 9.5 ish up to around 10.5. A milling of the head or the thinner head gaskets will push that to 10.7 or the combo of both to 11.0:1

I was thinking of the Cometic gaskets...

OK, I'm not far from diving into this LS motor I'm modifying in my Suburban

Up to this point I have remained old school, simply torquing fasteners to the proper "Tightness."

However we are in a newer age of torque to yield fasteners. You tighten the bolt to a given torque setting, then rotate it "X" number of degrees further to apply the required stretch to said fastener.

So I'd like to discuss the logic and good and bad in all of this

With respect to my LS engine, I could purchase inexpensive factory type bolts for less than $50, then destroy them in their one and only tightening. Or I could purchase some old school bolts and simply tighten them to the required torque and call it a day. The latter bolts seem to be quite spendy, raising interest in their cheaper counterparts

Then the question of the torque wrench comes to mind. I have the standard selection of beam deflection and click type wrenches in 3/8" and 1/2". But looking at these new angle finding torque wrenches, the cost gets up there PDQ.

So what is a good, not too expensive torque wrench that can stretch these LS bolts properly???

For some reason, both my corded and battery recip saws are down at the farm and my need for one is all the way up here at Casa-Don.

So I just bought another one. Makes sense!

I have been having pretty good luck with the Harbor Freight premium lines of tools. Just go for the best of whatever you are looking at and you probably landed on a decent product. No Dewalt not Milwaukee by any stretch, but serviceable, and job killin', You Bet!

DC  (Don Commentary)

The fact that this exists in the context of where Americans are today is totally racist. A Black Caucus? Where is the American Indian caucus, the scottish immigrant caucus, the korean american, latin american, italian american or any other caucus.
By my country boy reasoning this is bull crap and these black representatives of good American people are poster children for Racism.

I mean, get over it already

What's it been, like a century or two since anyone in America had any black slaves? Why keep this hateful thing alive? I mean, why is it kept alive anyway, ever wonder about that? Yea, sure there is still hatred of blacks in some places, but not where I live, and no one I know. I didn't see it in the military. Didn't see it in the contractor world. Didn't see it in the airline industry. Don't see it at church, don't see it in any of the sports leagues my boys participate in, don't see it on the farm, at my car dealership, at Lowes, Home Depot, or McDonalds!

I think this perpetual elevating of the hurt done to black America serves another purpose. People being what they are in the America, mostly uninformed, self centered, and uncaring about history and complex issues of our republic can be led to emotion fairly easily. You can take a city which is more or less operating well, point out some white cop who shot some black person, and there you have it. Scarecrow looking people like Sharpton come walking in like some rooster in a hen house and start pointing out how the white man is the root of all your problems. They are responsible for your son being arrested 23 times for larceny, and boom, you have racial tensions exploding into civil unrest and riots. Then more black and white people harm one another, now purely out of self protection and you have more white on black violence. White against black because a paid for media machine tells you so. No need to look at the facts, nossir, just move along, nothing to see here!

I for one am sick of it. I don't care if your white black blue or green. If you do the crime you do the time. I nor anyone in america has participated in black slave trade since we had like 36 states, so get over it already.

Professional black caucus?? My gut says, well, hell, lets just make a congressional white caucus. I mean if they can, why can't white or yellow or blue people, right? But, here in lies the danger. Go there and you become just like them. Lowly dishonorable people who scarcely deserve the lofty position someone paid for them to occupy. Bull crap on a bunch of congressional black caucus. Its a blemish on what still strives to be a clear American complexion!

THE NEW CROOKED CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS
Civil rights loses, corruption wins.
November 23, 2018  Daniel Greenfield
288

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

In the last decade, every single House Democrat sent to prison for financial crimes was a Congressional Black Caucus member. In the last twenty years, it’s been over 80%. After the midterms, the CBC has grown past a record 50 members. But that doesn’t mean it’s getting better. Power makes it worse.

Rep. Ilhan Omar is the most famous freshman member of the CBC in the 116th Congress. The CBC’s PAC boasted that she is “the first Somali-American and first Muslim woman elected to Congress”.

She’s also the first member of Congress who had to deny being married to her brother.

As historical “firsts” go, alleged incest in the House is far more historic than being an immigrant from a failed state and then crawling into Congress on the strength of the Ellison voters in Little Mogadishu.

Omar has denied being married to her brother, even though evidence suggests that she was. A complaint was even filed accusing Omar of abusing taxpayer money to divorce her own brother.

And then there’s the anti-Semitism, the trespassing arrest, opposition to an FGM law, the campaign finance fines, she’s currently facing a second Minnesota Campaign Finance Board investigation, and sources in the Somali community alleged that Omar’s campaign was using another Somali candidate, Guhaad Said, allegedly accused of stabbing 3 people, to find out who had leaked the incest story.

Rep. Omar is already a train wreck before taking office, but that just means she fits in at the CBC.

The Congressional Black Caucus has achieved a record number of seats so it’s a power player in the new Dem House majority. And CBC leaders are demanding a status in the Democrat leadership commensurate with their growing numbers. The Caucus forms somewhat less than a quarter of the Dem House majority and is the core of Rep. Pelosi’s support, trading backing for House leadership positions.

But the Congressional Black Caucus is rotten with everything from corruption to anti-Semitism. Its newfound power in the House will allow CBC leaders even more scope for corruption and abuse. Numerous CBC members have faced ethics investigations, three have been sent to prison in the last 5 years, and a significant number have met with Farrakhan or attended Nation of Islam events.

And Rep. Omar is a reminder that it’s not just the old generation of CBC bench warmers, like Rep. Alcee Hastings, in gerrymandered districts who have become a byword for corruption and ethical issues.

The Congressional Black Caucus has only one foe it hates more than Republicans, the Office of Congressional Ethics. Rep. Marcia Fudge, who had recently essayed a failed bid against Rep. Pelosi for the Speakership, tried to gut the independent organization in 2010. Joining her were 19 CBC members.  The resolution would have sealed complaints against House members away from public view.

Rep. Fudge’s coup fell apart when Lance Mason, a Democrat politician and former judge, murdered his ex-wife. Fudge had written a letter in Mason’s defense when he was put on trial for beating his wife so badly that she required reconstructive surgery. Mason got a slap on the wrist and a job from the mayor of Cleveland, a political ally of Fudge’s, allegedly at the instigation of Fudge.

There’s little doubt that a newly empowered CBC will go to war against the ethics office. Before Fudge’s previous effort to gut OCE, 7 CBC members were being investigated.  In 2012, a report claimed that a third had been named in an ethics probe during their time in office.

CBC members have fought back with accusations of racism, but the toothless OCE investigations do little more than embarrass them. Even Rep. Laura Richardson, who went to war against OCE, got off with a $10,000 fine despite her staffers describing “attempts to intimidate them on a regular basis,” and an OCE report accusing her of destroying evidence and intimidating witnesses. Richardson blamed racism.

But criminal investigations have also disproportionately landed on the CBC.

Rep. Chaka Fattah was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for racketeering, bribery, bank fraud, mail fraud and money laundering after stealing money from an educational foundation. His sentence set a record as the second-longest jail sentence received by a member of the House. The record was set by Rep. William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, another CBC member, who racked up 13 years in prison.

Rep. Corrine Brown was sentenced to 5 years in prison in 2017 for mail fraud and various other forms of fraud after running a fake charity that stole money meant to provide scholarships for minority students.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was sentenced to prison in 2013 for wire fraud and mail fraud after abusing campaign funds to buy everything from cashmere capes to a $40,000 gold Rolex watch. A key element in Fattah’s case was a Porsche convertible. Corrine Brown’s slush fund helped pay for a luxury box at a Beyonce concert. That’s typical of the crimes committed by CBC members which involve plain old greed.

Corruption isn’t new to Capitol Hill, but it’s particularly obscene when politicians representing impoverished areas steal money meant for their constituents to live ridiculously lavish lifestyles.

CBC members often set up educational non-profits, into which corporate donors pour money, but the only people who benefit are their friends, their family members and their own bank accounts. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson never went to jail, but Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarships that each member is supposed to distribute to needy district members instead went to her grandsons.

Rep. Frank Ballance did go to jail. In 2005, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison for that CBC standby, mail fraud and money laundering relating to theft of funds from an educational non-profit, run by him.

CBC non-profits notoriously function as slush funds for corporate lobbyists to trade favors for cash.

In the last decade, every single House Democrat sent to prison for financial crimes was a CBC member. In the last twenty years, it’s over 80%. These are deeply troubling statistics because the crimes invariably involve the politicians somehow enriching themselves at the expense of their poorer constituents.

The Congressional Black Caucus claimed to represent the interests of black communities, but then devolved into a disgusting orgy of corruption. CBC members are the easiest to bribe, the most willing to put out for corporate lobbyists, using the rhetoric of civil rights to cash in on their communities.

Even when it comes to the #MeToo movement, the CBC proved exceptional with a sexual harassment scandal forcing Rep. John Conyers to retire while Rep. Bobby Scott was accused of harassment by a member of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Will the freshman Congressional Black Caucus class break with tradition?

Rep. Omar’s campaign finance issues suggest otherwise. Rep. Lucy McBath had lefty billionaire Michael Bloomberg buy the election for her at a modest cost of $4.5 million. Rep. Steven Horsford joins the freshman class, but he's a political veteran who lost his previous election and has been accused of compromising ethical rules and repeated ethics violations.  In short, it’s CBC business as usual.

And beyond the corruption, is the contempt.

Rep. Antonio Delgado once sang, “Dead presidents can’t represent me, not when most of them believe in white supremacy/like spittin’ on my ancestry.” During a debate, he had claimed that, “Israel is not a Jewish democracy.”

The freshman class of the CBC brings in more political radicalism, but that’s not unusual in a caucus that includes Rep. Barbara Lee and Rep. Maxine Waters. Radicalism is a mask that CBC corruption often wears. And the two have come to comfortably coexist in the corrupt arrangements of a caucus that acts as the mercenaries for the Democrat establishment and any corporation willing to pay the bills.

The CBC has topped 50 members for the first time. But that’s not a victory for civil rights. It’s the triumph of corruption.

It’s remarkable we have had this many crashes. Many of our most advanced aircraft which necessitate some of the most rigorous training regiments and the best people.

Wanna know why?

It’s simple. Someone messed with the recipe. You see for decades killers in the military (Yes that is what a lot of us are) have been told they are killers, ran around in the morning singing songs about it, trained through pain, had our bodies bruised and broken by some really tough Sergeants and instructors, and prepared for war.

But someone came along and messed with the recipe

Someone told a bunch of Navy fighter pilots that it was wrong to use foul language and not to grab some good looking girls butt at a party designed for just such a thing. No, at that point in time, killer men had to be polite in the presence of ladies, then go out and blow some commie into a million bloody pieces.

But we learned our manners and became more polite killers.

We used to gather at a place called an Officers Club to drink and do stupid things. Yes I have worn a bowl of chili, a full bowl, as a hat, and walked around with half my flight suit torn off of me by somebody from a different service who just wanted a fight. But someone decided that it was prejudicial to separate the ranks, so the clubs were combined and now your street smart private fresh off the street, the leathered Sergeant and commissioned officer alike were obliged to socialize together in the same building. So the chili bowls on the head stuff stopped and for the most part everyone stopped having fun, so everyone just went home. A vital part of the comraderie of a fighting unit passed into the darkness of political correctness.

Killers became more sensitive to their brethren of different ranks and everyone, really.

But somebody messed with the recipe.

Although for as long as Armies have been comprised of killers, and killers are for the most part men, and men are, well, at least, used to be men, have liked to drink and do hard men things. But someone decided that drinking is not socially acceptable. Warriors wondered how socially acceptable it is to call down an airstrike on an enemy position where you know there are kids and women, and it doesn’t make sense. But somehow, we absorbed all of that and gave in to the notion that we were wrong about our God given instincts. Then the effect of countless DUI's which almost always result in the soldier having to depart military service, culled quite a bunch of otherwise good soldiers. Somehow in the minds of our leaders, that was a good thing.

We were confused, but someone had changed the recipe

And they have been changing it for such a long time that one cannot see the totality of the change during just one career. You have to gaze back to another time and compare what they were like then to what we have become to see the gaping gulf of what a warrior used to be and what he has been forced to become.

WW2 soldiers were shell shocked. Korea and Vietnam warriors suffered battle fatigue, and modern day warriors suffer PTSD. Nothing changed there. But the level that is reported and observed is thousands of times greater today than before. My dad, a B-17G pilot in command had his men shot to pieces inside his plane, He got to smell the blood and feces blown out of abdominal cavities for hours as he flew the corpses back to England. All that and a whole lot more and he never spoke of it. Not a word while I grew up, nothing. When I came home from my first combat, I was rattled and went to my parents to find some quiet time beneath the old chestnut tree. On that day, he came outside with two glasses of sweet tea and said, "Tell me about it." I did, he talked, and two warriors met on the common ground of those who survived which is set in the spiritual a few proverbial feet above the plane of death.

But apparently that was not good enough for our evolving society. Now everyone has PTSD. I read of a Berkeley student who said he was suffering PTSD after attending a protest where conservatives were counter demonstrating. Pretty low threshold to what can cause a disorder to spring to life, wouldn’t you say? He like 80% of every other young American living today who thinks likewise is a _____, nothing else.

But someone validated him and millions of other non-deserving do-nothings and then suddenly the American warrior found himself categorized with the likes of the former wimp who couldn't face the truth even if it was in his face.

Someone messed with the recipe.

Some thought that all jobs in the military should be open to women, I mean why not? Just because throughout thirty or so centuries of recorded history, no women of a significant number have ever served as knife wielding killers of the night why should we recognize a cold hard fact? Some soviet women made great snipers, and I knew a few that could outfly me, but for the most part, in females, all that mass below the chin and above the navel is not muscle. It won't serve them when its two AM in Mogadishu and you're out of ammo and playing "Batter-up" with charging hajis.

But somebody changed the recipe and women started showing up in the strangest of places

A couple now wear the coveted "Ranger" tab. I find it remarkably odd that during some of their final testing in the patrol evaluations that their patrol leaders were General officers! Honestly I nor any other have ever heard of such a thing. Ranger instructors are Sergeants, and dammed good ones. They are folks who know what it takes to be a warrior and an elite one at that. I doubt you could have gotten them to lie about anything, and well they didn’t get to make the final decisions like they always have. Some General led the patrols, so what are we supposed to make of that?

But someone changed the recipe and now we have women rangers.

Everyone started falling all over themselves when the anti-American came to power and now the United States entered a time where our leaders apologized to everyone, empowered and financed our enemies, weakened social institutions, and drastically reduced the size of our military. With the diminishing size of the military, the top slots became fewer and fewer. So the vying for them became more political. Where a leader may have been vetted for a command position for his/her warrior spirit/ethos, the emphasis turned more toward the political. The climate of the day suggested that embracing all things of the current leadership was the winning hand so we had leaders telling Chaplains not to preach the gospel of Jesus, making infantrymen wear pink high-heels (Really happened) establishing safe places for other pussies who made it somehow into uniform and a whole world of WTF!

Embracing homosexuality and sexual confusion became the cornerstone of the day. Not special weapons, advanced training, better medical support. Nope it was telling the world that the department of defense has gay pride. Well, let me tell ya, the warriors in the military do not have any gay pride. Most of them do not like nor trust gays and they dammed sure spend more time thinking about getting in trouble by some callous remark they made by mistake. Think about it, we have warriors who have to spend time thinking about how something that they said may get mistaken!
Personal story: One day while attending equality training, I am listening to a staff sergeant tell me I have to think of him as a Latino person and so forth. I got up and walked out. My battalion commander followed me to ask why I left. I told him simply that to me is neither a Latino nor a sergeant. He is simply the guy who is supposed to pump a thousand gallons of gas into my helicopter at zero three thirty. I don’t care to spend one more thought on the matter. It’s only about mission. But I was wrong. I was too much a part of the warrior ethos, and not properly evolving, I would soon become obsolete and a dinosaur of sorts.

Men are no longer men in today’s military, but whatever they chose. God was no longer right when he appointed you door number one or two. Some delusional nutcase could change his sex at the drop of a hat and suddenly be showering with the ladies and somehow that was right. On one hand, a warrior can’t pinch a woman’s butt, but he can call himself a woman and shower with a bunch of them????? OK is it just me or has this friggin world flipped to stupid.
But someone changed the recipe and now you could join the Army to get a career, get a college education and get a sex change. Seems to me we were spending valuable range time on a bunch of nonsense that any third grader could point out as being wrong.

It goes on and on. If I were to say anything, I mean nearly anything, I am some sort of phobic or racist, or hater or whatever. Truth is I am no different than the norm found in the flyover states. I am none of those things, but someone wants you to think so. That person is really an evil movement who is on a roll and wants to change the recipe just a little more.
Toxic masculinity you say. Perhaps you should find your feminine side while running your knife through the juggler of someone, or find come compassion for some bastard who just gutted your friend. Think that doesn’t happen? I’m here to tell you it does, it did, and I was there when it did once. Can I say that we went back and killed every living thing within a kilometer of that spot where that young American died? I don’t give a crap, and I’d do it again and again because some people just aren’t going to get better.

But none of that fits with the kindler legalistic, sensitive, gender neutral warrior our leaders supposedly want. I can tell you from experience, nothing like that exists, if you leave men to the business of killing and training to kill. If you give them allowances for too many beers, a few young ladies who actually wanted to have their arses pinched, some foul language, Air Force pilots drawing penises in the sky with jet exhaust, and pointing out two guys kissing as a couple of homos, then you can have a warrior and a safer one at that. He will go and do what he has to without being all wired up from having to try to act in a manner contrary to his DNA. You can’t make killing nice. You can’t make men into women or believe women can hump a 200 pound ruck up a mountainside then immediately go into a protracted fight or that changing someone’s sex is in any way combat effective.

Someone changed the recipe, and all the time they have been changing the recipe, a dark, calculating enemy has been watching, training, and waiting. They do not pray, but they hope for the day when that _____ shows up on their battlefield…They wait

The Forerunners of the American Revolution: The Black Robed Regiment
These were the apostolic and prophetic preachers of their day (1 Corinthian 12:28) and the forerunners (Micah 2:13) who had the courage to act on our behalf over 242 years ago. They did not just preach out against the sins of the tyrants, they fought against him and his armies by resisting and throwing off his ungodly rule.
 BRADLEE DEAN — NOVEMBER 23, 2018

“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it. …and whether we defeat the enemy in one battle, or by degree’s, the consequence will be the same.” -Thomas Paine, author, and founder, 1777

I remember when I first got into ministry, I was approached and asked to attend a youth group to give my testimony, and of course, I obliged.

I also remember after giving my testimony that week that I began to hear over and over again by the youth pastor as to what they were going to do in reaching the up and coming generation. Yet, week after week it was the same thing, just sensationalized preaching with little to no action outside of the church building (1 John 3:18).

It then dragged month after month, at which point, I had enough. Here am I preparing (Colossians 2:7-18) to bring about the answers (Isaiah 6:8) to this world (John 4:35) and this guy is talk, talk, talk, and even more talk. I am not built to sit around in a church building and pacify and deceive myself by merely talking about what needs to be done (Proverbs 6:9; James 2:14-26).

How was I to sit around and merely talk about what Christ commanded us to do (Luke 19:10).  Just think of it this way, I would not have been at the church in the first place if there had not been someone who reached out to me (2 Corinthians 5:20).

As a side note, after every church service, I was in the church library studying the likes of Charles Spurgeon, John Knox, Martin Luther, Charles Finney, John Wesley, Jonathan Edwards, John Calvin, Smith Wigglesworth, John Alexander Dowie, William and Catharine Booth, etc.  These were giants in the faith that obtained a good report and I wanted to know the God that they served (Hebrews 11:2). There is a definite difference between the church in America from the founding era to the present.

How was I going to spend the rest of my life reading about the history of the men that proved the God of Israel, and have been partakers of signs and wonders (Mark 16:20) and not do the same, especially knowing that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8)?

It was Jesus who said:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” -John 14:12

And if He is not a respecter of persons, then I have the same access into the Holy of Holies (Hebrews 10:19-22) to commune with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as our forefathers did (Acts 10:34).

Friends, I cannot sit in a circle and pretend (Matthew 23:3), I will not preach without His witness (Acts 5:32), I will not have any part of playing church without the practice of what I preach, for this is the widespread problem that we are having in this country today.

Furthermore, my spirit hungers (Matthew 5:6) and strives for connection with the God of David (Romans 8:14-16), through Jesus Christ, to see Him do for my generation that which He did for David’s.  Scripture is clear, you do not find the Lord by just talking about His promises.  You must act.

“O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.  Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!” -Psalm 71:18-19

Friends, is it enough to talk about what needs to be done? Is it enough to talk about great men of the past that proved the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? No, it is not! Talking alone does not get the job done.  Faith that worketh by love does (Galatians 5:6). Action speaks much louder than words.

“For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.” -1 Thessalonians 1:5

Bringing it closer to the present time from that of the biblical patriarchs is our founding fathers, who sacrificed themselves in order that their posterity might have freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).  I'm speaking namely of the Black Robed Regiment.

https://youtu.be/Pz4ZHq1mOnk

I recently watched an A+ documentary-movie on the history of the Black Robed Regiment. These were the apostolic and prophetic preachers of their day (1 Corinthian 12:28) and the forerunners (Micah 2:13) who had the courage to act on our behalf over 242 years ago. They did not just preach out against the sins of the tyrants, they fought against him and his armies by resisting and throwing off his ungodly rule.

https://youtu.be/j_Mih_11K-g

“Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.” -President Thomas Jefferson

Roger Sherman, Architect and Signer of The Declaration of Independence said:

“Sad will be the day when the American people forget their traditions and their history, and no longer remember that the country they love, the institutions they cherish, and the freedom they hope to preserve, were born from the throes of armed resistance to tyranny, and nursed in the rugged arms of fearless men.”

How do Roger Sherman’s words line up with what you are seeing in America today? Today, we have nothing but a bunch of effeminate and godless hirelings who are afraid of their own shadows (Revelation 21:8), sitting in another one of their board meetings like a bunch of clowns in a circus trying to figure out how they can entertain and introduce the sheep-goats to the wolves (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 John 2:15-17).

"A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats!" –Charles H. Spurgeon

“But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.” -John 10:12

Think of this, a bunch of professors who claim to have the answers that the world needs and yet, they are unwilling to bring them answers in power so that they might be set free (John 8:36).

Again, Charles H. Spurgeon comes to my aid when he said,

"Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you're not saved yourself, be sure of that!"

After all, you cannot give what you do not have (Matthew 10:5-8; Jude 1:12)! But what of those who have brought the answers to this world?

Let’s light the candle and see how our forefathers led the way. Looking now to the example of the Black Robed Regiment and what was recorded on their behalf (Malachi 3:16), those who have gone before us in the faith (Hebrews 11), and see how they trusted in the living God (Proverbs 3:5), and how the Lord answered on their behalf.

“No class of men contributed more to carry forward the Revolution and to achieve our independence than did the ministers.” -B. F. Morris, historian, 1864

“The preachers of the Revolution did not hesitate to attack the great political and social evils of their day…” Frank Moore, historian, 1862

“To the pulpit we owe the moral force which was our independence. They prepared for the struggle, and went into battle, not as soldiers of fortune, but with The Word of God in their hearts and trusting in Him.”

“England sent her armies to compel submission and the colonists appealed to Heaven? -John Wingate Thorton, historian, 1860

“This righteous rebellion began in the churches before spilling out into the streets of Boston and the rural regions of the colonies. In 1776 mixing politics and religion was as common as drinking smuggled tea.”

“The colonial clergy created the religious climate that made it possible for the American Revolution to take place.” James L. Adams, author and journalist, 1989

“The Christian “ministers of war” had done their job well, in fusing their congregants with the feeling they were first and foremost Christian soldiers…”

“The poorly armed, ragtag American recruits set forth to do battle. …in the process they would turn the world upside down.” James Adams

“Since we are compelled to take up the sword, in the necessary defense of our liberties, let us gird on the harness with firm defiance and with fixed purpose, to part with our liberty only with our lives…” Moses Mather, pastor, 1775

“It must never be forgotten that religion gave birth to Anglo-American society. In the United States, religion is therefore mingled with all the habits of the nation and all the feeling of patriotism, whence it derives a peculiar force.”

“We are not fighting against the name of a king, but the tyranny; and if we sailor that tyranny under another name, we only change our master without getting rid of slavery.” William Gordon, 1777

“Expense is not to be regarded in a contest of such magnitude. What can possibly be a compensation for our liberties? It is better to be free among the dead, than slaves among the living.” Zabdiel Adams, pastor, 1782

“We know that our civil and religious rights are linked together in one indissoluble bond. Religion and liberty must flourish or fall together in America. We pray that both may be perpetual.” William Smith, pastor, 1775

Outside of the fact that this Black Robed Regiment documentary-movie was outstanding, what begs the question is where are the men in number to do the same things today? It is not God that has changed (Malachi 3:6)!

Below is a quote by D. H. Lawrence which serves as a warning to anyone that believes that inaction brings anything but slavery.

“Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.”

Don Note: THis hits closer to home for me, you see my dad was a B17-G pilot the last two years of WW2. He flew his 35 missions plus maybe thirty more. Mrs Brown's hair just may have been flying in Dad's plane bring it home to the Nazis in a close and personal way.

Mary Babnick Brown was an American woman who donated her long blond hair to be used as crosshairs in Norden bombsights in WW II

Brown was a Coloradan; the children of Slovenian immigrants. She left elementary school at the age of 12, to help support her family as a servant for $5/week. When she was 13, she lied about her age so that she could work at National Broom Factory for 75 cents a day, a job she held for 42 years. Her younger siblings pitched in by picking up chunks of coal that had fallen onto the railroad tracks. Brown's lone prized possession was her knee-length fine blonde hair.

In 1943, Brown saw an advertisement in a newspaper, searching for women with blonde hair of at least 22" length, that had never been treated with chemicals or hot irons. The military was offering to purchase such hair, to be used for meteorological instruments in the war effort.

https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/hmt-forum/babnik_brown_washington_hair_letter.jpg

The "meteorological instruments" were actually crosshairs for Norden bombsights. The Army Air Forces (the predecessor to today's US Air Force) had tried various materials for the Norden bombsight, including black widow spider webbing, but nothing could withstand the temperature variations like fine blonde human hair that had never been treated with chemicals or heat.

A Norden bombsight and crosshairs:

https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/hmt-forum/norden_bombsight_crosshairs.jpg

Brown sent off a sample of her 34" blonde hair to the government for analysis. After analyzing her hair, they agreed to purchase it, offering to pay her in war savings stamps. But Brown wouldn't accept payment for her hair. She saw it as her patriotic duty to help the war effort. She later recalled that she cried for months after cutting her hair.

It was decades before Brown learned the true use of her hair, and the effect of her sacrifice. In 1987, on her 80th birthday, she received a personal thank-you letter from President Ronald Reagan:

Brown's hometown of Pueblo, Colorado declared an official Mary Babnik Brown day, and she also received an award from the Colorado Aviation Historical Society.

Said Brown: "Here I am, an old lady of 83, and I'm still flying high".

Firearms / RMTWS Gunfight Rules
« on: November 23, 2018, 10:09:12 AM »
RealMen,

Learn these rules. I could teach you, shepherd over you, or pray for your safety. That will all make a difference. But you are responsible to hold yo your corner, so learn this stuff.

Gunfight Rules

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around
reloading."

In a gunfight, the most important rule is ... HAVE A GUN!!!

These are shooting tips from various Concealed Carry Instructors.  If you
own a gun, you will appreciate these rules... If not, you should get one,
learn how to use it and learn the rules.

RULES

A  Guns have only two enemies:  Rust and Politicians. Rust can be prevented,
Politicians cannot.

B  It's always better to be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

C  Deleted, as I do not agree...

D  Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arm's
length.

E  Never say "I've got a gun."  If you need to use deadly force, the first
sound they should hear is the safety clicking off, or the hammer cocking.

F  The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes; the response time
of a .357 is 1,400 feet per second.

G  The most important rule in a gunfight is:  Always Win - there is no such
thing as a fair fight.  Always Win - cheat if necessary.  Always Win - 2nd
place doesn't count.

H  Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets ... you may get
killed with your own gun, but they'll have to beat you to death with it
because it will be empty.

I  If you're in a gun fight:
    (a)  If you're not shooting, you should be loading.
    (b)  If you're not loading, you should be moving.
    (c)  If you're not moving, you're dead.

J  In a life and death situation, do something ... it may be wrong, but do
something!

K  If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid.  Nonsense!  If you
have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

L    Never fire a "warning shot", that is just one wasted bullet, which
could be needed within moments.

M  You can say "stop" or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at
someone's head is pretty much a universal language; and, you won't have to
press 1 for Spanish/Mexican, or 2 for Chinese, or 3 for Arabic.

N  Never leave a wounded enemy behind.  If you have to shoot, shoot to kill.
In court, yours will be the only testimony.

O  You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your
family.

If you believe in the 2nd Amendment, forward to others you know who also
believe.

Both the aircraft and the man are still soldiering on 50 years after they first met.

Hats off and a Salute to both of them!

Something magical about that bird. Did I mention I love flying Hueys?

The Real Reason They Hate Trump

He’s the average American in exaggerated form—blunt, simple, willing to fight, mistrustful of intellectuals.

Wall Street Journal

Oct. 21, 2018 3:01 p.m ET

By David Gelernter

Every big U.S. election is interesting, but the coming midterms are fascinating for a reason

most commentators forget to mention: The Democrats have no issues. The economy is booming

and America’s international position is strong.

In foreign affairs, the U.S. has remembered in the nick of time what Machiavelli advised princes

five centuries ago: Don’t seek to be loved, seek to be feared.

The contrast with the Obama years must be painful for any honest leftist.

For future generations, the Kavanaugh fight will stand as a marker of the Democratic Party’s intellectual

bankruptcy, the flashing red light on the dashboard that says “Empty.” The left is beaten.

This has happened before, in the 1980s and ’90s and early 2000s, but then the financial crisis

arrived to save liberalism from certain destruction.

Today leftists pray that Robert Mueller will put on his Superman outfit and save them again.

For now, though, the left’s only issue is “We hate Trump.” This is an instructive hatred, because

what the left hates about Donald Trump is precisely what it hates about America.

The implications are important, and painful. Not that every leftist hates America. But the leftists
I know do hate Mr. Trump’s vulgarity, his unwillingness to walk away from a fight, his bluntness, his certainty that America is

exceptional, his mistrust of intellectuals, his love of simple ideas that work, and his refusal to believe that men and women are interchangeable.

Worst of all, he has no ideology except getting the job done. His goals are to do the task before him, not
be pushed around, and otherwise to enjoy life. In short, he is a typical American—except exaggerated, because he has

no constraints to cramp his style except the ones he himself invents.

Mr. Trump lacks constraints because he is filthy rich and always has been and, unlike other rich

men, he revels in wealth and feels no need to apologize—ever.  He never learned to keep his real

opinions to himself because he never had to.  He never learned to be embarrassed that he is

male, with ordinary male proclivities.  Sometimes he has treated women disgracefully, for

which Americans, left and right, are ashamed of him—as they are of JFK and Bill Clinton.

But my job as a voter is to choose the candidate who will do best for America. I am sorry about

the coarseness of the unconstrained average American that Mr. Trump conveys. That

coarseness is unpresidential and makes us look bad to other nations. On the other hand, many

of his opponents worry too much about what other people think. I would love the esteem of

France, Germany and Japan. But I don’t find myself losing sleep over it.

The difference between citizens who hate Mr. Trump and those who can live with him—

whether they love or merely tolerate him—comes down to their views of the typical American:

the farmer, factory hand, auto mechanic, machinist, teamster, shop owner, clerk, software

engineer, infantryman, truck driver, housewife. The leftist intellectuals I know say they dislike

such people insofar as they tend to be conservative Republicans.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama know their real sins. They know how appalling such people

are, with their stupid guns and loathsome churches. They have no money or permanent

grievances to make them interesting and no Twitter followers to speak of. They skip Davos

every year and watch Fox News. Not even the very best has the dazzling brilliance of a Chuck

Schumer, not to mention a Michelle Obama In truth they are dumb as sheep.

Mr. Trump reminds us who the average American really is. Not the average male American, or

the average white American. We know for sure that, come 2020, intellectuals will be

dumbfounded at the number of women and blacks who will vote for Mr. Trump. He might be

realigning the political map: plain average Americans of every type vs. fancy ones.

Many left-wing intellectuals are counting on technology to do away with the jobs that sustain

all those old-fashioned truck-driver-type people, but they are laughably wide of the mark. It is

impossible to transport food and clothing, or hug your wife or girl or child, or sit silently with

your best friend, over the internet. Perhaps that’s obvious, but to be an intellectual means

nothing is obvious.

Mr. Trump is no genius, but if you have mastered the obvious and add

common sense, you are nine-tenths of the way home. (Scholarship is fine, but the typical

modern intellectual cheapens his learning with politics, and is proud to vary his teaching with

broken-down left-wing junk.)

This all leads to an important question—one that will be dismissed indignantly today, but not

by historians in the long run: Is it possible to hate Donald Trump but not the average American?

True, Mr. Trump is the unconstrained average citizen. Obviously you can hate some of his major

characteristics—the infantile lack of self-control in his Twitter babble, his hitting back like a

spiteful child bully—without hating the average American, who has no such tendencies. (Mr.

Trump is improving in these two categories.) You might dislike the whole package. I wouldn’t

choose him as a friend, nor would he choose me. But what I see on the left is often plain,

unconditional hatred of which the hater—God forgive him—is proud.  It’s discouraging, even

disgusting. And it does mean, I believe, that the Trump-hater truly does hate the average

American—male or female, black or white. Often he hates America, too.

Granted, Mr. Trump is a parody of the average American, not the thing itself. To turn away is

fair. But to hate him from your heart is revealing. Many Americans were ashamed when Ronald

Reagan was elected. A movie actor? But the new direction he chose for America was a big

success on balance, and Reagan turned into a great president. Evidently this country was

intended to be run by amateurs after all—by plain citizens, not only lawyers and bureaucrats.

Those who voted for Mr. Trump, and will vote for his candidates this November, worry about

the nation, not its image. The president deserves our respect because Americans deserve it—

not such fancy-pants extras as network commentators, socialist high-school teachers and

eminent professors, but the basic human stuff that has made America great, and is making us

greater all the time.

Christmas…
Who here really likes Christmas? Probably most everyone, right?
Me, Not so much. I know that sounds like I have a “Grinch” spirit, but far from that, I actually love giving things. But what does the giving of things have to do with Christmas? Well, the answer in the modern Wall Street driven context is, everything.

What Christmas really is or has become is the time of year when retail companies make most of their annual profit. It is a time when a brain washed world is told in endless ways that to be happy you need to buy gifts for people, everyone that you can. If not, then you overlooked someone or didn’t care about them. Not giving makes one a bad person. Further, the best gifts are the most expensive ones. Buy your wife a red Mercedes and you are husband of the year, a virtual hero of Facebook and other gossip channels, where you can lavish in endless praise from hundreds of people, many of them you barely know. Isn’t that the Christmas we all know?

What about the unbelievable crowds at the shopping places? The fighting for a parking place where we curse people for “taking our spot,” or making us ten seconds late for a date with some treasured something on isle 14 at Walmart or Kohl’s. Then let’s not forget the debt we incur. Debt that I have witnessed staying with people for years after the day when they spent money that they did not have for so many gifts that simply checked off someone on their extended shopping list. I wonder if one can even recall all the things they purchased two years ago? The payments are still with you, aren’t they? Wouldn’t it mean more if the reason for the bondage came easily to mind, was greatly appreciated and long remembered?

Christmas is a commercial holiday, let’s face it. Actually it is something far different, but in the prevailing ignorance that permeates America and much of the world, Christmas is the season to shop till you drop. Oh, you have little chance of escaping it. The Christmas music starts months (MONTHS!) early and manufacturers are busy everywhere peddling their goods on every form of evolving media known to man. We really get caught up in an out of control spending blitz on a day named Black Friday. Yep on that day we are programed to rush to the malls and wait out those other crafty shoppers to score that one big item at some super discounted price. Sort of feels like a modern day big game hunt! I mean you buy the 96” TV then hang it on the wall, much the same as my daddy shot a modest eight point buck once and had that poor critters head stuffed and mounted, then hung on the wall.

Christmas isn’t even Christmas, did anyone know that? First, who of the two most recent generations can even tell me what Christmas is supposed to be about, at its core? Anyone? A few, well, good, we have to start somewhere. Christmas is an artificial holiday created by a Pope of the early Roman Catholic Church that serves as a focal point for Christians where we celebrate the birth of Jesus. The actual date of his birth is not really known, but this pope of long ago, a part of the Roman Empire, knew that Jews had their holiday, and Muslims had their special day, so to keep all things equal and fair, Christians needed a special day too. So he created Christmas and festooned it with all manner of pagan symbols like the Christmas tree. Why let all those good used statues and deities go to waste? Heck no, just repackage them and present them to people as a new “Religion” seeking to find its space in those late Roman Empire days.

I have always found this creation of an artificial holiday by a Pope which promotes giving to be extraordinarily contradictory. You see, we Christians already had our special day of giving, it’s called Easter. Didn’t Jesus the Christ give his very life for and to us? And by doing so, didn’t he give us Salvation? That’s a gift isn’t it? Better than a new pair of shoes, and perhaps even a diamond or a Mercedes? You can see where I’m headed with that, Easter and the sacrifice of a perfect life for a bunch of wanton, thieves and liars (You and I) is way, way beyond just a gift. No, what he gave was an opportunity for us to go on forever, to live beyond our own physical death.

I just don’t see too much Jesus in all this Christmas season business. Oh you will hear about the ACLU filing a lawsuit to have some town remove a nativity scene on CNN. Or you may hear how some Satanist is offended and warns of suffering PTSD because someone said Merry Christmas to them at Best Buys. We are amazed later that some court finds for the defendant, awarding him or her several million dollars for having suffered such an awful experience.

Sorry folks, but this Christmas business is mostly just white wash and commercialism and based on some arbitrary date picked by some self-important man of antiquity. But for those of us who strive to ferret through all the fake commercialism to find that perfect moment to give in the name of Christ our savior, then for those special moments it is a blessed time.

Long ago, I learned about the truth of the creation of this man-made Christmas thing. But I said, “Heck with it, even though the day isn’t the actual day when Jesus was born, I’m just going to go with the spirit of the day and try and focus on the one this is supposed to be all about.” So, what does that look like you may ask? Well, there are a lot of parties to go to with delicious food and the chance to reacquaint with some dear friends, I like that pretty well. I’m fortunate to own and run a forum website where men of conviction and honor donate money every Christmas season. That money is used to bless some special someone(s) with things that they both desperately need and never expected to receive. Last year it was a couple of Latin families who are salt of the earth good people, but who also did not have two nickels to rub together. The year before last it was two little girls that got warm clothes, blankets and sheets (That they did not have!) and some nice girly gifts to boot. I actually had the pleasure of buying those girly things. That was a trip!

I do delight in seeing the eyes light up in my children and grandchildren as they bust through the wrapping paper, but that soon gives way to a bit of disgust at the sheer volume of toys and things they actually get. I am not exaggerating to say that those kids have thousands of toys! And not just them. When I get a present from one of our children, something I know that cost them dearly I am touched. After all they barely have any money at all, and although I feint joy and pleasure on the outside, on the inside, I am so sorry that they spent their precious money on a belt for a guy who has dozens of them and doesn’t really need anything. But I try and take the good from that, noting and admiring the self-sacrifice they made. Unfortunately that is eclipsed when I see them drive off in their twenty year old, 300,000 mile car in need of a valve job and a wrecking yard!

Kids and folks well into their thirties, perhaps even forties have little or no previous experience of what it is like to be frugal. They have lived lives of ah-plenty enjoying lavish gift giving for decades. It was not like that for me and those of the Baby Boomer generation. We, the children of the greatest generation grew up with men and women who lived through some really hard times and made incredible sacrifices and then afterward strived to live humble lives. My home that I grew up in was only 900 square feet. It had only one bathroom, and I had to live in the attic. I had no air conditioning and almost no heat until I was a teenager. There was only 5 closets in the whole house and we did not own much. I recall having between seven to ten toys as a kid but they were well used and worn out toys! Today I have so many things that I am often surprised when I uncover something I misplaced years ago and forgot that I actually owned. I could scarcely name ten percent of all the things I own today.

But back then I had a .410 shotgun, a three speed bike, a Garcia fishing rod, with a Mitchell reel, several bass lures, some Bata bullet shoes, an aquarium, microscope, and a hatchet. Can you believe I was blessed with all of that? Man how is it that one person could own all of that? And I remember the Christmas very well when I got a desk. A pine desk that my dad and uncle built for me in the basement. Sitting on that desk was a scientific experiment lab kit, a bag of green “Army Men,” and a plastic army tank and truck set. I was speechless at the sight. Truly my best Christmas as a kid.

It’s good to have little. First of all, why do we need all these modern conveniences anyway? I mean for everything you own, that’s just one more thing requiring a warranty that is going to break anyway at some future (Too soon) date. I have spent many a Christmas at war in some far off land. The one in Panama during Operation Just Cause was one I remember. The seals found a pine tree somewhere, chopped it down and carried it into Hangar 3 at Howard Air Force base in Panama City, Panama. They decorated it with hand grenades and belts of machine gun cartridges. We cobbled together a decent meal sang carols and had a service. That was a pretty good Christmas.

There was one memorable Christmas when I was in Kandahar, Afghanistan. My sister called me Christmas night, which was Christmas morning for her in the US of A. While we were talking a rocket came in and exploded nearby. She heard it and got really worried and scared. I was trying to hide the whole event from her, down playing it when a second rocket came in and went “Thump” in the ground just outside my room. I remember her saying, “Don, what was that?” I was dropping to the floor awaiting the thing to explode and tear my building apart over my head, all the while talking Christmas stuff to her. It never detonated, but caught the place on fire instead! On that Christmas night God spared me my life. That was a pretty good Christmas to be sure!

Those Christmas holidays were amongst the most memorable. And then there was the one up in a very cold Kabul. We held a secret service because anything Christian was pretty much either forbidden or concealed. Afterward, I looked off into a starry night toward the mountains holding onto a warm cup of coffee and thought about the birth of Jesus, the greatest single event in all of history. And I thought about how someone more important than all of earth knew me, and I knew him. Just knowing that was Christmas enough, nothing more needed, ever!

So for me, I would ask that you not buy anything for me. Please don’t give me something unless you need to do so to feel better yourself. If you want to give me something, then give me a bit of your time. Buy me a cup of quoffee (Spelled in the New York English) and talk to me for a time. That would be wonderful, wouldn’t we both like that? Or better yet, say a prayer to Jesus for me, I’d like that. You could do something kind for someone, maybe even a soldier and under your voice say, “This is my gift to Don.” Do that and you have stored up in the kingdom of God and I will learn of your kindness when I go home. Call me and share some time on the IPhone or stop by my forum website and join in the conversation and share in the love found there, that would be great.

I can’t have what I want so everything else is just second best. I’d like to know that Jesus is really important to you. Like the most important thing in all of your and other’s hearts. I’d like to see him openly celebrated all across America. I’d like to see his enemies just stomped into a mud hole. (Kinda enjoy doin’ that myself!) I’d like for good to triumph over evil and for truth to come out and bury all the lies we are fed on a daily basis. No Sir, I guess that I ask too much, so I’ll just settle for some quiet time with him and maybe you over a warm cup of joe.

Build Threads / 2002 Suburban 2500 Build Thread, Part 1

Well, now he went and did it!

Yep, I just purchased a Suburban!

I have been off looking at all sorts of vehicles, a XJ for the oldest pre-ranger, something for me, and a newer jeep for the Mrs.

I have always scanned the classifieds for a great Suburban and this morning I ran across one. It is somewhat of a time capsule in that it looks almost new. Only the undercarriage gives a clue to its real age, but even that is in really great condition. The selling dealer who sells classic vehicles does a comprehensive inspection to everything he intakes. He didn't find a single gripe on this pristine example.

So, it's a 2002 Suburban 2500, 8 lug axle, heavy duty burb with the LQ4 6.0 liter and a 4l80-E transmission and has 4.10 gears.

Tomb of the Unknowns Guards Begin Use of Custom M17 Pistols
Posted on ‎10‎/‎18‎/‎2018

Yesterday, Tomb Guards from the US Army’s 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) were presented with 4 ceremonial M17 pistols at Arlington

National Cemetery. These works of art were created by SIG SAUER specifically for use by the Guards.

This ceremony marks the first use of the M17, which will accompany the Sentinels of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers as they stand guard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The unique distinguishing features for the M17 Tomb of the Unknown Pistols include:

• Pistol Names: each of the four pistols bears the name of Silence, Respect, Dignity, or Perseverance and is featured on the dust cover. Dignity and Perseverance represent “The Sentinel’s Creed,” and Silence and Respect represent the request to the public by Arlington National Cemetery when visiting the Tomb of the Unknown, and during the Changing of the Guard;

• Custom Wood Grips: in 1921 the chosen Unknown was transported to the United States of America aboard the USS Olympia. The custom wood grips are made with wood from the USS Olympia and include the crest of the 3rd Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier identification badge inset;

• Cocking Serrations: XXI cocking serrations are engraved on the slide to signify the twenty-one steps it takes for the Tomb Sentinels to walk by the Tomb of the Unknowns and the military honor of a 21 Gun Salute;

• Sight Plate: an engraved impression of the Greek Figures featured on the east panel of the Tomb – Peace, Victory, and Valor – are featured on the sight plate;

• Sights: a glass insert made with marble dust from the Tomb of the Unknown fills the sights of the ceremonial pistols;

• Engraved Magazines: the 21-round magazines feature an aluminum base plate engraved with the names of the Greek figures featured on the Tomb of the Unknown – Peace, Victory, and Valor – and include a name plate on the bottom of the magazine engraved with the Tomb Sentinel badge number.

• Serial Numbers: the pistols are serialized with a unique set of serial numbers that incorporate items of significance to the Old Guard: “LS” represents line six of the Sentinels’ Creed, “My standard will remain perfection; “02JUL37” to signify the first 24-hour guard posted at the Tomb of the Unknown on July 3, 1937; “21” to signify the 21 steps it takes the Tomb Sentinels to walk by the Tomb of the Unknown, and the military honor of a 21 Gun Salute. The full series of M17 Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Pistols serial numbers are LS02JUL37A21 (Silence), LS02JUL37B21 (Respect), LS02JUL37C21 (Dignity), LS02JUL37D21 (Perseverance).

D.O.T. / The FUTURE is coming are you READY???
« on: October 31, 2018, 10:09:14 AM »
Very Interesting Predictions!

Auto repair shops will go away.

A gasoline engine has 20,000 individual parts. An electrical motor has 20. Electric cars are sold with lifetime guarantees and are only repaired by dealers. It takes only 10 minutes to remove and replace an electric motor. Faulty electric motors are not repaired in the dealership but are sent to a regional repair shop that repairs them with robots. Your electric motor malfunction light goes on, so you drive up to what looks like a Jiffy-auto wash, and your car is towed through while you have a cup of coffee and out comes your car with a new electric motor!

Gas stations will go away. Parking meters will be replaced by meters that dispense electricity.  Companies will install electrical recharging stations; in fact, they’ve already started. You can find them at select Dunkin Donuts locations.

Most (the smart) major auto manufacturers have already designated money to start building new plants that only build electric cars.

Coal industries will go away. Gasoline/oil companies will go away.  Drilling for oil will stop. So say goodbye to OPEC!

Homes will produce and store more electrical energy during the day and then they use and will sell it back to the grid. The grid stores it and dispenses it to industries that are high electricity users. Has anybody seen the Tesla roof?

A baby of today will only see personal cars in museums.

The FUTURE is approaching faster than most of us can handle.

In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide. Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt. Who would have thought of that ever happening?

What happened to Kodak will happen in a lot of industries in the next  5-10 years and, most people don't see it coming.

Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later, you would never take pictures on  film again? With today’s smart phones, who even has a camera these days?

Yet digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had  10,000 pixels, but followed Moore's law.  So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a time, before it became way superior and became mainstream in only a few short years. It will now happen again (but much faster) with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs.

Forget the book, “Future Shock”, welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Software has disrupted and will continue to disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years.

UBER is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now  the biggest taxi company in the world!

Ask any taxi driver if they saw that coming.

Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties.

Ask Hilton Hotels if they saw that coming.

Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world.

This year, a computer beat the best Go-player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected.

In the USA, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of  IBM's Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for right now, the basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So, if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% fewer lawyers in the future, (what a thought!) only omniscient specialists will remain.

Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, its 4 times more accurate than human nurses.

Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.

Autonomous cars: In 2018 the first self-driving cars are already here. In the next 2 years, the entire industry will start to be disrupted. You won't want to own a car anymore as you will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it you will only pay for the driven distance and you can be productive while driving. The very young children of today will never get a driver's license and will never own a car.

This will change our cities, because we will need 90-95% fewer cars. We can transform former parking spaces into parks.

1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide including distracted or drunk driving. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles; with autonomous driving that will drop to 1 accident in 6 million miles. That will save a million lives plus worldwide each year.

Most traditional car companies will doubtless become bankrupt. Traditional car companies will try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels.

Look at what Volvo is doing right now; no more internal combustions engines in their vehicles starting this year with the 2019 models, using all electric or hybrid only, with the intent of phasing out hybrid models.

Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla and so they should be. Look at all the companies offering all electric vehicles. That was unheard of, only a few years ago.

Insurance companies will have massive trouble because, without accidents, the costs will become cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear.

Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move farther away to live in a more beautiful or affordable neighborhood.

Electric cars will become mainstream about 2030. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity.

Cities will have much cleaner air as well. (Can we start in Los Angeles, please?)

Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean.

Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the burgeoning impact.

And it’s just getting ramped up

Fossil energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that simply cannot continue - technology will take care of that strategy.

Health: The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There are companies who will build a medical device (called the "Tricorder" from Star Trek) that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breath into it.  It then analyses 54 bio-markers that will identify nearly any Disease. There are dozens of phone apps out there right now for health purposes.

WELCOME TO TOMORROW – it actually arrived a few years ago.

Well, not scissors, but a "Tree Shear"

I don't own one yet, but am considering purchasing one. They run from a low of around $3,000 for a 12 " capable, manual rotation, up to well over $15K!

The one pictured here that I am considering is a bit under $6,000 and will easily snip a 14" tree, 1" off the ground then snip it into firewood lengths with no manual effort on my part, save my pushing some buttons and moving a lever whilst enjoyin' the heat and stereo music in my comfy cab.

This one is a "Power Axe" by Quick Attach.

Life is all about attachments, isn't it???

I've posted this before. But this truth needs to get around so that all true Americans can know the truth and see the face of the enemy.

BERGDAHL WAS RELEASED IN EXCHANGE FOR 5 TALIBAN GENERALS IN ORDER TO COVER UP THE OBAMA/HILLARY STINGER MISSILE SALES TO LIBYA

BENGHAZI AND THE MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS

So here's the REAL story: Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to secretly retrieve US made Stinger Missiles that the State Dept had supplied to Ansar al Sharia in Libya WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission.

Sec State Hillary Clinton had brokered the Libya deal through Ambassador Stevens and a Private Arms Dealer named Marc Turi, but some of the shoulder fired Stinger Missiles ended up in Afghanistan where they were used against our own military. On July 25th, 2012, a US Chinook helicopter was downed by one of them. Not destroyed only because the idiot Taliban didn't arm the missile. The helicopter didn't explode, but it had to land and an ordnance team recovered the missile’s serial number which led back to a cache of Stinger Missiles kept in Qatar by the CIA.

Obama and Hillary were in full panic mode, so Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi to retrieve the rest of the Stinger Missiles. This was a "do-or-die" mission, which explains the Stand Down Orders given to multiple rescue teams during the siege of the US Embassy.

It was the State Dept, NOT the CIA, that supplied the Stinger Missiles to our sworn enemies because Gen. Petraeus at CIA would not approve supplying the deadly missiles due to their potential use against commercial aircraft. So then, Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus when he refused to testify in support of Obama’s phony claim of a “spontaneous uprising caused by a YouTube video that insulted Muslims.”

Obama and Hillary committed TREASON!

THIS is what the investigation is all about, WHY she had a Private Server, (in order to delete the digital evidence), and WHY Obama, two weeks after the attack, told the UN that the attack was the result of the YouTube video, even though everyone KNEW it was not.

Furthermore, the Taliban knew that the administration had aided and abetted the enemy
WITHOUT Congressional oversight or permission, so they began pressuring (blackmailing)the Obama Administration to release five Taliban generals being held at Guantanamo. Bowe Bergdahl was just a useful pawn used to cover the release of the Taliban generals.Everyone knew Bergdahl was a traitor but Obama used Bergdahl’s exchange for the five Taliban generals to cover that Obama was being coerced by the Taliban about the unauthorized Stinger Missile deal.

So we had a traitor as POTUS that is not only corrupt, but compromised, as well and a
Sec of State that is a serial liar, who perjured herself multiple times at the Congressional Hearings on Benghazi. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft were called upon for help in Benghazi: because the administration knew that our enemies had Stinger Missiles that, if used to down those planes, would likely be traced back to the CIA cache in Qatar and then to the State Dept’s illegitimate arms deal in Libya.

https://www.politico.com/ story/2016/10/marc-turi- libyan-rebels-hillary-clinton- 229115

Forward this again and again until everyone reads the true story of Benghazi.

More than half of US citizens DO NOT KNOW THIS

Kavanaugh comes clean about his high school and college years......

"I spent the last two years of high school in a daze, locking away the questions that life seemed insistent on imposing. I kept playing basketball, attended classes sparingly, drank beer heavily, and tried drugs enthusiastically. I discovered that it didn't make any difference if you smoked reefer in the white class mates sparkling new van, or in the dorm room with some brother you'd met down at the gym, or on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids who had dropped out of school and now spent most of their time looking for an excuse to brawl."

Just kidding....That's from Obama's book describing HIS high school and college days.

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / The true character of Donald Trump
« on: October 05, 2018, 10:58:39 AM »
'Trump Does The Unthinkable' by Liz Conklin, entertainment journalist

Read what Liz Conklin has observed.  I haven't read anything in the media about any of these, but felt everyone should know
Liz Conklin is an award-winning author, a seasoned journalist and an advocate for sex crime victims. Liz began her journey at the
University of Iowa where she received a bachelor's in journalism    and political science.

 'Trump Does The Unthinkable'

by Liz Conklin, entertainment journalist, I've had the opportunity to cover Trump for over a decade, and in all my years covering him I've never heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was running for president. Keep in mind, I got paid a lot of money to dig up dirt on celebrities like Trump for a living so a scandalous story on the famous billionaire could've potentially sold a lot of magazines and would've been a Huge feather in my cap.

Instead, I  found that he doesn't drink alcohol or do drugs, he's a

hardworking businessman.

On top of  that, he's one of the most generous celebrities in the world with a heart filled with more gold than his $100 million New York penthouse.

Since the  media has failed so miserably at reporting the truth about Trump, I decided to put together some of the acts of kindness he's committed over three decades which has gone virtually unnoticed or fallen on deaf ears.

• In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill's family farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill's pleas for help in news reports.

• In 1988, a  commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support system.  His grief stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he didn't hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.

• In 1991,  200 Marines who served in Operation Desert Storm spent time at Camp Lejune in North Carolina before they were scheduled to return home to their families. However, the Marines were told that a mistake had been made and an aircraft would not be able to take them home on their scheduled departure date. When Trump got wind of this, he sent his plane to make two trips from North Carolina to Miami to safely return the Gulf War Marines to their loved ones.

• In 1995, a  motorist stopped to help Trump after the limo he was traveling in got a flat tire. Trump asked the Good Samaritan how he could repay him for his help. All the man asked for was a bouquet of flowers for his wife. A few weeks later Trump sent the flowers with a note that read: We've paid off your mortgage.

• In 1996,  Trump filed a lawsuit against the city of Palm Beach, Florida, accusing the town of discriminating against his Mar-a-Lago resort club because it allowed Jews and blacks. Abraham Foxman, who was the Anti-Defamation League Director at the time, said Trump put the light on Palm Beach not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of discrimination. Foxman also noted that Trump's charge had a trickle-down effect because other clubs followed his lead and began admitting Jews and blacks.

• In 2000,  Maury Povich featured a little girl named Megan who struggled with Brittle Bone Disease on his show and Trump happened to be watching.  Trump said the little girl's story and positive attitude touched his heart. So he contacted Maury and gifted the little girl and her family with a very generous check.

• In 2008,  after Jennifer Hudson's family members were tragically murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that, Trump's security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family members were safe during such a difficult time.

• In 2013,  New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to the edge of a bridge staring at traffic below as he drove by. He stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this story, he sent the hero bus driver a check simply because he believed his good deed deserved to be rewarded.

• In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tamoressi after he spent seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico border. President Barack Obama couldn't even be bothered to make one phone call to assist with the United States Marine's release; however, Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his feet.

• In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her darkest days she explained that she received a handwritten letter from Trump telling her she's the bravest woman, I know. She said the opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately provided her Mexican-American son with a full-ride to college.

• Lynne  Patton, a black female executive for the Trump Organization, released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations that he's a racist and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she's struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his entire family loyally stood by her through immensely difficult times.

Donald  Trump's kindness knows no bounds and his generosity has and continues to touch the lives of people from every sex, race and

religion. When Trump sees someone in need, he wants to help. Two decades ago, Oprah asked Trump in a TV interview if he'd run for president. He said: ' If it got so bad, I would never want to rule

it out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what's happening

with this country.'

That day has  come.

Trump sees  that America is in need and he wants to help. How unthinkable!

On the other hand. have you ever heard of Hillary or Obama ever doing such things with their own resources?

Now that's really unthinkable! Might be worth passing on!!

Just shows we hired the right guy. If Hollywood and the media ever get off his ass, he'll do many good things for this country...

OK, in this mixed up world where we are in a perpetual opposite day

I like to be what I am, just a plain old man

(Unfortunately the old part is true)

I don't make apologies for who or what I am and I have a right to be what I am, and more importantly, just as Christians are to be a light unto a dark world, I will be a normal guy walkin' amongst a bunch of mixed up folks

So, for the record:

I am male, and I believe there are only two sexes

I believe a man should be attracted to a girl and a girl to a man

I believe marriage is between a man and a woman.

I believe in God. I believe Jesus is the son of God. I believe that the holy spirit guides me in my life

The bible is true

I may not understand how some of the bible is true, but the word of God is infalliable

I am white. I am proud of being white

I think being black or yellow or red is just as good (or bad)

Martin Luther had it right. The quality and character of a man is what is important

In a marriage the man is the head of the family

In that family, the woman represents the neck attached to that head

I love my country. I hate those who dishonor it

I would not control myself well in the face of people who chose to dishonor it

Pull over if you can and stand outside your vehicle when a funeral procession passes you by

I think the current younger generations are amongst the weakest and spineless I have ever seen

Illegal aliens should have no special rights while here

English is the primary language spoken in the United States

It should be a big bad thing to protest against America

I do believe some arguments can be solved by a hard punch to the nose

Guns are good, and shooting a bad guy is a good thing

Murderers ought to be put to death, Rapists too possibly.

Ladies are to be respected and treated gently, for they are the weaker sex
But the definition of weaker is made to the biblical model

Fathers need to be present to their children.

Parents are not necessarily friends to their children. But after the child is 30 and he/she doesn't love the parent, then the parent has failed in his/her duties

Christianity is the only true religion that worships a real god

Abortion is wrong. It is murder. Those who believe in it are a party to that.

I try to forgive. I can't always forget, but I try to forgive because God tells me he will not forgive me if I don't first forgive.

I try to say the Lords prayer every day

I honestly love Jesus, God and the spirit

I love my wife. I think she is the prettiest girl I have ever seen.

I would lay down my life to defend my family, my country, or my friends.

Did I mention that guns are good?

You should carry a knife most of the time

There is nothing wrong with driving a pickup truck as your primary driver.

DBOW's (Death box on wheels) (some cars like the smart car) are stupid

Motorcycles have two wheels

I like tradition

I strive for honor

I try to live with integrity

I loved having served in combat, and I hold those who did as well in high regard

I do not think less of those who did not

I do however hate it when someone tells me "I wanted to serve, but..." That is just piss-ant weak!

I loved my parents

I salute the flag

Satanism is wrong, way wrong.

I am prejudice against some people, but I am working on that

I like Chevys more than BMW's or Toyotas

America should be first. We had the guts to lay down our lives in most places on earth to assert our beliefs and defend those who were weaker.

Stand up straight, look someone in the eye when addressing them, and shake with a firm grip

Admit when you are wrong, and confess your sins. Take the punishment for your shortcomings and put your left in front of your right.

Live your life well, but be prepared to die.

Make a difference in someone else's life

Coffee Induced Early Morning Rant / White Racist???
« on: September 29, 2018, 09:11:26 AM »

This is an interesting and different point of view from Britain. Food
for thought.

Does make you stop and think. When does political correctness go too far?"

Racist - me?

A thought provoking passage written by an ENGLISHMAN about the current
situation in HIS homeland - this is thought provoking and is equally
relevant in other countries.

I have been wondering about why whites are racists, and no other race is?

There are British Africans, British Chinese, British Asian, British
Turks, etc, etc, etc.

And then there are just British. You know what I mean, plain ole English
people that were born here. You can include the Welsh, the Scottish and
the people who live off our shores of Great Britain on tiny islands.
Yes, we are all true Brits.

The others that live here call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,'
'Whitey,' 'Caveman' 'White trash' and that's OK...

But if I call you, Nigger, Spade, Towel head, Paki, Camel Jockey,
Beaner, Gook or Chink, you call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you. So why are the
ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the Muslim Council of Great Britain.

You have Black History Month.

You have swimming pools for Asian women.

You have Islamic banks for Muslims only.

You have year of the dragon day for Chinese people.

If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.

If we had White History Month, we'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance' OUR lives, we'd
be racists.

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black Britain or Miss Asia, but
any colour can be in the Miss UK.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you
know we'd be racists.

There are over 200 openly proclaimed Muslim only schools in England. Yet
if there were 'White schools only', that would be racist!

In the Bradford riots and Toxteth riots, you believed that you were
standing-up for your race and rights. If we stood-up for our race and
rights, you would call us racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not
afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us
racists.

We fly our flag, we are racists. If we celebrate St George's day we are
racists.

You can fly your flag and it’s called diversity. You celebrate your
cultures and it’s called multiculturalism.

You rob us, carjack us, and rape our daughters. But, when a white police
officer arrests a black gang member or beats up an Asian drug dealer
running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud.... but you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists??

There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are
proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will. That's why we
have LOST most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for
ourselves!

BEING PROUD TO BE WHITE! It's not a crime, YET... but its getting very
close!!
