16" steel 8x6.5 fits 100x more than 18". ford dodge Toyota are all large center hub bore and will work on GM in a pinch with little vibration issues. Steel can be easily bent back into shape. I've taken one that looked like a V back to semi round with a propane torch and 5lb sledge and drove home off the mountain. with aluminum, I would have been tossing the broken pieces and waiting on the rescue chopper.

Don,  You mentioned wanting to take Frau to broadway...that means appearance counts too, so to me plain steel would not fit the bill.

PYOs came on that stock and they are pretty strong and they are available in quantity on ebay etc.  My vote would be looking at some stock pyos.  My 2001 had pyos and I drove it pretty hard and never bent a wheel, especially in a 16 with a bunch of meat on the sidewall.  Its not like a lo profile 24

Humvee wheels for the win!
