Hopefully it won't be as bad with the guards. Getting up on the barn is a pain!

Took 1/2 day off to clean all the gutters on the house and installed gutter guards. Tired of climbing onto the roof each year!!   Cleaned the gutters on my big barn and looking to see if I can put the same guards on these 5" gutters. Might need another 1/2 day off before the snow flies!

153
Don do you still have battery hooked up in the camper? The converter in these campers are terrible for voltage output, they require the battery to act as a sink to stabilize the 12 volts out.

154
I used M4 Products LED bulbs in our camper. More money but no duds and you can tell the quality. These are the ones I got and am very happy with them.

Had a friend from work come out and sight in his new 300 Win. Mag. at 300 yrds

Here's another notice the Baby DMax in the back ground, He Loves it! He's goten 34 mpg on two different road trips.

No pics but moved back to 500 ydrs and got my little Savage 223 Woodchuck gun out , Son went 4-4 So I had to show him and went 4-4 and quit with a tie before I got beat!! Marv pulled out the 300 and went 2-3, He's never shot out past 200 So that put a smile on his face :D

I Hate it when I do something Dumb in front of my Wife!! When my boys were about 7-8 range oldest and I were on the quad plowing the pond without helmets!! Big NO NO for Mom. Finished up pond and decided to do one donut on the way back to barn. Well we hit the bank, both flew off hit the ice hard!! Boy is crying, I look up to see Mom in the window watching >:(  Grabbed the boy and headed for the barn, trying to delay the wrath of Mom that I knew was coming! I limped for days, but nothing broken like Don. Hopefully you heal quickly, and the boys learn a lesson about Showing off!

Hiking in Smokie Mts to see a waterfall with wife, on our the back wife was running out of gas and turned to me and said we need to see a bear to boost her adrenaline, and we go 10 ft tops and here comes a Black bear down the Mtn about 25 yrds in front of us, across trail and down in front of us to the river!! That was a good hiking trip!

Yea that's the main thing will your wife want to go hook it all up and flip breakers? Not mine so its me or the whole house auto route is the only way to go.  BTW my Dad has the Generac 11 kw whole house when we out 2 yrs ago for 5 days after a big storm I'm on a portable gen filling up every 7-8 hrs going to gas stations 10 miles away to get gas and I stop bye His house the first night and his yard light, porch light and darn near every light in the house is on!! Looked like a UFO in the dark!! Told him he better turn off some of the lights, some of the neighbors might not like them too much sitting there in the dark for days!!

If you want it for backup when your not home then only way to go is the true standby. You can get down to 8kw and a auto transfer switch for the whole house, uses less propane but costs more I've found 11kw with 200 amp whole house transfer switch to be about the best price combo.
Here are some of the ones I looked at
http://www.norwall.com/products/11kW-Generac-Guardian-7033-Home-Standby-Generator-with-200-Amp-Whole-House-ATS
http://www.norwall.com/products/10kW-Home-Generator-NGLP-and-200-Amp-Service-Rated-ATS-with-Symphony-II-Power-Management-by-Briggs-and-Stratton-40450
The Briggs uses a little less fuel 1.82 gph , Generac 2.01 gph

Well been crazy here since last post. 90 yr old father in law has been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks! Darn near lost him twice. He has hairy cell leukemia that dr's are just letting run it's course at his age nothing you can do, then came down with pneumonia in both lungs! They live 80 miles from us in Cass City so my wife was up with her mother 86 yrs taking her to hospital every day. Then he got too sick for the small town hospital and was moved to Saginaw St. Mary's.  That's 40 miles from our house, So Wifey has been staying home and going to the hospital in the morning to catch the Dr's and get any news while the other sisters bring Mom around Noon and take her back around 7pm. My Wife is there till at least 3pm every day. This has been very hard on her! And of course with 8 kids everyone has an opinion on what should be done! So everything she does around the house the boy and I have been doing! Dinners , Shopping, Mowing the grass, its been nuts! He's starting to show some improvement, very slow going. If his lungs don't start working better he won't be able to come home! On Oxygen mask during the day and bi-pap mach. at night to help him breath. It's day by day He's a tough old bird, so I'm hoping he can get strong enough to come home or it be a peaceful end to a good long life. Prayers for my wife Karen its been very hard on her.

But I had Monday off, So I didn't like the corner where po backed onto a tree and covered it with caulk. I couldn't leve it alone!
So I opened up this can of worms!
Rotten wood on inside

Leak around bolts for lift asm

Had to take canvas down roof rack off, plan is to replace bad wood and make a 3' by 4' L bracket out of 1/8" to reinforce the corner and put all back together when I get some time!

Thought I'd do a little write up on my son's new rifle.
Savage Mod 12 LRPV in 6 mm Norma bench rest 26" barrel
Leupold VX-6 7-42x56mm scope
Ken Farrell 20 moa one piece base and rings
Harris bipod
Lapua 105 gr hollow point boat tail about .472 bc
29-30 grains  H4895 about 2800 fps

6mm round

100 yrd zero

Took him a few shots to get on target at 500 yrds.

After about 20 rds he had the dope just right, 6-9 mph of wind right to left no correction 10 mils up then he coul call head shots.

Running Lights

Brake Lights

Back Up and Brakes!

Almost ready to go on first road trip. Going to Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Sept for our anniversary, lots of good hiking and site sighing.

173
Got to finish up wiring on camp lights. Put switches for front, left and right sides up beside the bed for any bumps in the night.

Used Wife's multi tool to cut the hole, I love this thing I use it more than she does!

Switches and power outlet installed

Wire on top to junction box covered with the Eterna Bond tape

Then on to new LED tail and backup lights!
Had to find out they never hooked up backup wire to rec. in the box! that took a while to find and fix then back to light install
These things are great! Super Bright!
Running Lights

Backup light and Running

Backup and Brake!

Now just have to do Pass. side tonight.

174
The switches for the lights are all inside the camper, but I learned the hard way always get out and check for low hanging limbs! So while out checking campsite out the rear light switch is right at the door , I'll be able to just reach in and turn it on for additional rear flood lighting.

175
Got some more time in on the camper Sat. Putting on Camp site lights on all sides. Rear will have a switch near back door, Left side Right side and front will have switches up beside the refrigerator and bed so they are close if you hear a bump in the night!
Made 90' brackets for the sides

Then bought tube mounts for the front and back

You can see factory seam in roof, so I used Eternabond tape to waterproof the seam and hold the wires down going back to the junction box on the roof.

And for all you Safety Guys here's how not to make your own pick!! Roof says no weight except on roof rack 100 lbs max! That leaves me out!

Still have to put switches in then back to rear carrier and truck wiring. No backup light on trailer plug?

Went out after work today since we had an 1" of rain Sat. and worked up my spot for food plot. Ground is still hard as a rock!

Going to need more work after the next rain.

177
Did some more on truck platform despite the heat!
Tailgates off hitch tube is in to mark location of first upright

On the bench to weld up

Setting location on platform

Trying to get the angle and length just right. Wood is cheaper than tubing!!

178
Vent Fan works great!  Got more done on the jacks, Put them together twice! forgot the mounting rings!!
New Powder Coating

Rings installed!

Slide inner screw tube in, put roll pin in, Drive gear just sets over roll pin.

Slide drive shaft with spacer and gear in then put roll pin in to hold it all together. Without getting grease on white paint!!

Back on camper looking much better even if I had to do it twice!

And on to next step, took tailgate off and making platform that slides into hitch to support the back of camper.
2" x 6" main rails 2" x 4" tie rails

Put #1 son to work He's my welder if you need better than farm welding I do!

Well finely got time to sight in my new toy!
100 yds Factory reloads!

200 yds  2 touching at my finger 1 high and I called that one.

300yds
3 shots from me 3 from youngest Son. His it the smaller group!

Youngest Son

Son shooting 200 yrds

Then we thought what the heck!  450 yrds!!

Of course his is the best! Right in the middle, mine are top to bottom on the right. I was laughing too much to hold tight, not bad for $600 gun out of the box!

184
Well got more done on the camper. Interior Lights and plugs done, on to new flooring.

Wife laying it all out for the right color match!

Before!

After! She did a Nice job while I was at work!

Working at the truck plant, we've built pilot 17's but still no firm numbers yet? have heard 425 hp and 1000 lbs but no one will confirm.

189
Finally got a little time back on camper.
Wifey wanted another plug to rear of camper for tablet or heater when we have power.
Looking at power center found it has Main 30a then 1 20a and 2 15a breakers, 1 15 a for the existing plugs another for fridge and 20a ? So I pulled it all apart and found the 20a breaker prewired to the back but unused! Perfect for the plug I'm putting in.

Ran my wire down pipe chase to the back.

Cut a hole to put GFCI Plug in, need to stop and get cover plate on my way home from work today.

Everything I have read says bottom Aeration works best for the fish and reduces the muck, also stops the water from getting as much algae. Go to The Pond Guy lots of good info. The valves are flow controls, the pump is dual output up to 4 heads. If one head is in shallower water it would flow more air than the deeper one so you adj that one to balance out so both heads flow the same. I'm using 3 heads so my longest run is on one output from the pump to waters edge then spliced to self weighted line to air head. The other 2 are shorter runs 85' and 75' compared to 150' for long run.

Took a day off of work to get my pond Aerator done. Now I need a day off to recover from my day off!
125' trench  from barn. Going to mount pump in barn, then air lines to wife's garden outhouse with flow valves inside, then to pond.

Pump inside.

Lines into trench.

Outhouse Control Room!

Valves.

Covered Trench and ran over with backhoe!
Bubbles!

3 heads, 1 in small end and 2 in big side all self weighted air line in the water, 1/2" 125 psi plastic from barn to waters edge.

Spent the weekend moving yard light from up between house and pond, back to pole barn.

LED light from Lowes works great. Also had a bad freeze proof hydrant that took twice as long trying to find 8' of 160 psi 1" plastic everyone wants to sell you 100' roll !!

At least wife has water now for garden and to power wash lawnmower!!

195
We plan on going in July-August, so temps 70-40 range. We'll have a good comforter and the camper has a furnace to take the chill off in the morning.

196
Well I went to work Sat. and left my drill out and this is the pic  wife sent me!!
Windows out!!

All Clean
[/URL
New butyl tape and Dicor.

197
Finished the top for solar wires. Need 10" square to cover all the holes from the Ant.

Then I put a few screws back to hold it all down!

Finished with sealant.

198
Well got a little more time on the camper. Pulling the TV ant. looks like it leaked at one time. Also changing the roof vent to a MaxAir fan.I have one of these in the bedroom of my 5th wheel, they work great can be left open in the rain without extra covers. It moves a lot of air and is very quiet.

[/U
After an hour of work finely  got the ant. and vent cover off.

Then put a bead of Dicor sealant around the hole and butyl around new trim ring. This fan comes in 3 pieces the power head, outside mount ring and inner trim

Put the outside mount on and cover the screws and edges with the Dicor

Brought the top up you can see the 4 screws to hold it and rubber o-ring to seal it to the mount.

All done up top, fan in raised position it drops down level on the upper lid when closed.[forgot pic]

Moved to the inside, there was power already to the vent so that made this part easy!

Here is the inner trim ring. It will work in cellings up to 6" thick but mine is only about 2" so I had to trim off 4" with my Vib. mutli tool.

All done this thing really moves the air in this small camper.

Still have to plug the ant. hole. I'm going to put a plastic box on the roof for the solar wires and on the inside I'll do a wire mold box and trim to get to the battery.

199
Thanks Guys, Wife and I work pretty good together. She has good ideas on interior stuff, I work on outside and systems. We got a little more done this weekend, I removed the jacks and mounting brackets took them to have them sandblasted and powder coated.

Then got back in time to run up to our towns Railroad Days Parade, to watch my son driving our townships new Tanker 1!

Proud Dad!!

Then back home to do a little more.
Got my led bulbs from M4 Products, changed out old yellow bulbs!

Before
After Much Whiter and Cooler the olds bulbs made the lens hot to touch!

Waiting on new taillights, Vent fan, and solar kit.

200
Well we have a little more progress. While I was at work my Wife remove the dinette riser so we have a flat floor to lay down the new vinyl.

Left me the bathroom! Removed toilet, then started on the carpet. What a job, they must be paid by the staple!! 1000 per board!

Also had to remove door on fridge so I could get the board out right under the front. Wifey took door and all the racks and drawers in for a good cleaning!

Off to Home Depot tonight to check out new flooring.
