Used to change those rears all the time, usually on an exchange basis.

Dang, hope those were good price. Used to be $9.97 at wally's.

Yeah I used to pay 190 to my door. These were $340 delivered

What I like about them is I can use a magnet sweep to pick up the empties. I have plenty of brass cased but it’s hard to locate in the grassy area I have my range set up in. I hate losing brass.

I picked up 1000 rds of that with the steel case. Had several malfunctions where I had partial ignition or something like that. In every case, the actual bullet remained stuck in the barrel!!!!!

Interesting,  I’ve run 20,000 rounds of wolf/tula down my G17 trainer and never had a single malfunction.

Of course Tula is no longer making Wolf but you get the point. We’ll hope the Ruskies were fully awake at the plant when this was made.

Never had issue with wolf / Tula however, I ran the last of what I had back in august and until price comes down I’ll keep buying brass cased. I feel at least I have something once it’s fired that’s worth money still to offset the cost a bit. Yeah, I know the math doesn’t work out but I personally feel better about it anyhow. Just bought a case of 115gr pmc in 9 the other day for 49 cents delivered. Not sure if that’s good or bad atm but outfit I buy from gave free shipping so I ordered some more.

Not too bad a price. Essentially I paid 34 cents to my door on this. I can get 9mm once fired brass for 6 cents so I may still be ahead.

I really need to manicure my shooting range so brass is easier to find. However stepping over rocks and exposed tree roots sure makes moving and shooting more challenging.

Sounds like real live shooting. You may not have manicured grass on cement when you need to shoot!

Yep, between bullets and primers loading for less is getting tuff.

But when you NEED to shoot you likely won’t care about collecting your spent brass either ;)

Need some input guys, and don't wanna start a new thread....
Would 10k be too much to pay for an LB7 with 190k on it? Really haven't been keeping track of prices. Was thinking it would make a good 4wd for my Idaho place, even though I hate working on lb7s. Online I'm seeing anywhere from 6k clapped out to 25k for a super clean version.

Paint failed so they bedlined it. Looks decent. Interior not great. Typical loose front end.
Normally just buy crap without consulting but I'm trying to change that. I value most of your opinions (except hippies in Colorado)

Man, denigrating the #7

10k is probably in the ballpark but as you know it can cost you 10k more in a blink of an eye

Hate to say it but unless you need to tow a bunch find a beater gasser, much cheaper to fix or repair daily….see what I did there?

Only if it has the injectors done. Gasser might be better as TRN said, unless you plan on towing a lot.

Is the whole thing bedlined?

Charles, the last 7 I did injectors on was this one and the pain is still fresh. I bought an 04 1/2 ton last year that needs a trans, just kinda partial to the dmax, and I thought it was a decent price, but don't have to have it.
... that being said, once you get a taste of diesel, a gasser just don't seem to cut it.

JR, she's covered head to toe, except the bumpers. ...and for some reason inside the bed itself. Lol

Seems a bit spendy Ken

Duane, as we speak is looking over a 1990 F350 dually, 6.9, 5-speed single cab, 150K with zero rust for an asking of $6K
Kind of like a gasser, I mean a 6.8...really?? But, hey, I owned one, and it would pull a trailer. Starts most of the time too!

And what about an older 454 stick truck? no brainer...screams but pulls and generally reliable. One in the paper locally...

If your thoughts are to drive wife’s car back and forth and have a rig for you to use then as long as it runs when you need it, sounds like a plan. If you keep using your truck to drive back and forth maybe a car for your wife to use would be better.

Ok. I turned it down. Probably just have the trans rebuilt in the 1/2 ton. I don't need to be buying anymore crap right now anyway. Gotta save for a cabin.

The only argument I would make for a diesel up in idaho is the price of fuel is cheap, and you have rented some larger equipment already and towing large loads can be a pain with a gas truck

Started making a grate for the charcoal pit. Ran out of 3/8 rod.

Bought some 3x3 sq tube to make the base for a welding table. Didn’t  buy enough 3/8 rod though. Doh.

Looked a a 3ft x 6ft 3/4 plate for the welding table but it was $1.25/lb so over $600 for the table top. I’ll wait a while

Then welded 8 attachment points into the inside of the trailer.

Spent too many hours sitting on a bag of rags inside the engine bay of my truck...
Cleaning and replacing wire loom and prepping for paint.

As much room as there is, it is quite uncomfortable.

My morning will be spent as a volunteer for the korn ferry stage 1 qualifing school.

For those that may not know, the korn ferry tournament is the precursor to the pga.  Unless you are so good that you get a major sponsor, all pga hopefuls must go thru yhe qualifying school, make the actual korn ferry tour and hope they score well enough to get their pga card.

Had a pretty successful day selling popcorn. Set up a local farm store. Both boys met their first goal of selling $500 apiece.  It didn't hurt that I knew a lot of the people that came in. Mondy night we hit up a couple of my favorite watering holes. AKA Chester's bar and the Roadhouse.  Buy a couple rounds and sales come rolling in. Yes the wife will be driving.

Finally put my sign up. Started with a forklift, ended up using a winch and pulley. Still need to put up the phone number section up above, but it's aluminum and much lighter.

Also had a freak storm Wednesday night. Came to work and noticed water marks on customer cars and buildings from 3 to 6 inches deep. Looks like the street turned into a river and just ran over the curb. Must have drained through the neighbors fence by the time I got to work. Weird

So last 24 hours have been a little rough, ended up at the UNC & MT State game today with beautiful 70 degree sunny weather.

At 1 pm yesterday drove to DIA to fly to MT,  half hour prior to flight taking off they cancelled flight (thanks SW!). No other flights to Bozeman so we went home. Grabbed 4Runner and at 5pm drove to Bozeman getting in at the wee hours of 3am. Grabbed 4 hours of sleep and got up to see daughter and have breakfast then went to game. As of 5pm we crashed back at the hotel for a nap. Taking Shelby and her BF to Yellowstone tomorrow for the day. Jacob the bf carried MT ST flag b4 game for his ROTC. Pretty cool all in all, lemons and lemonade……

Took my friends ashes, his wife and his son on a long two hour boat ride yesterday to spread his ashes across the bay.
Then after returning home had to drive down to my brothers place to be beside him for a while. He has been fighting liver cancer for a few years and the time has come to say goodbye.
Now I am getting packed up for a couple weeks hunting and remembering all the good times I have been blessed with sharing time with family and good friends.
Thanks Don for the wonderful site filled with great people with a common cause and beliefs.

The last of the jalapeños are soaking to make bread and butter jalapeños and the other half is in the dehydrator for the next couple days and will then be made into jalapeno powder.

Today helped the kiddo install new flooring at their house. Some sort of whitewashed oak or something.
Vinyl planks, super easy to work with.

We laid that in our farmhouse kitchen and dining room. It was a great floor solution and price was hard to beat. Easy to clean and held up extremely well. We have Hugh dollar wood floors now and I’d much rather have that again.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

My latest free camper. It had lots of potential but the door popped open on the way home and blew off. Some lady had her brother living in it but when he moved out he left the roof vent open and it stayed open all summer.

Watched the daughter cross the finish line with the governor relay team. I tried to post the video but sorry it is to big so you only get a picture. The governor is the big gut in the center and Krysten is the only female (beside the governor)

Sounds like you've had an emotional week. Hunting is a great cure. Good luck Mr. Bob.

Thank you Ken. With Gods help holding me up I am doing ok. Yes getting old is better than the other option but instead of family and good friends, I now have memories.
