Title: Air Hog
Post by: BobbyB on December 25, 2015, 07:29:34 PM
No not one of the mouth breathers. My nephew got me an Air Hog RC helicopter. Let's just say I won't be taking on any CAS jobs in the near future. I can hover it, but she doesn't respond to well to the controls...

Nope, she's too sleek of a machine to do that. Think Airwolf style, that's what I'm working with. Yes I even tried doing it with a soundtrack playing in the background... still a no go.

Posting without pics. Hmm :shakeshead

I got a cool knife sharpener, but a remote heli sounds like more fun....after you figure it out.

Well it takes 35 mins to charge with a 5 min flight time... So I don't think about a pic, but I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Ah, don't know about that
I've seen plenty of so called pilots
That I had to wonder if their dad was a senator or a general
No other reason made sense why they could have "earned" those silver wings!
Besides
One day during a SCUD attack, I put my first sergeant in the left seat of a Chinook and we took off like that, with him as my copilot He did OK!

Well, I have found Air Hogs or their products to be hit and miss. I have owned A LOT of them and similar. Price is great is why they sell well.

Any 2 rotor heli, fixed pitch will basically hover and slid around the room some. DO NOT FLY IT OUTSIDE in any wind or not at all if it is IR control vs 2.4mz.

On that note my kids got Airhog Xwing fighters for christmas. These are simply more poser to go up and turns with thrust adjustments, but they look cool.

Here is another catch on model planes and some fun news from the FAA (which has been told by congress they cannot regulate model aircraft) FAA rule 336

You want recommendations guys I can help. This is about the best deal out there for price and has a camera. Not FPV, then you need to look in the $200 range to start.

I got this a year ago and it is still going good. Does flips, has still and video

we buy those remote control helicopters bi-annually. it is a TRIP when we get all of them flying! We got away from the air hogs though and found some on amazon that you can buy spare parts for.

Once this one breaks maybe I'll looking into something better, but for now, I can turn on some tunes and for a 5 minute flight time I can "zoom" around the vast wilds of my apartment. It helps pass time, I appreciate that.

You can get pretty good stuff for well under 100. You will be amazed how much more fun it is when it does as you say!

What about taking that thing for a pass in front of a bunch of us with M4's?

See if anyone can blast it out of the air.

Seems like a reasonable and safe pastime, agree?

Doesn't the machine gun shoot in Tennessee do that?
