I'm sure HC and Bobby can elaborate and correct me as I'm just a schmuck with a gun who has never even hurt anyone's feelings.  With hundreds (or thousands) of hours of practice comes the ability to make accurate hits without sights in close situations.  Instinctive shooting, if you will.  Things happen really fast in close quarters in low light.  Most of your cognitive ability is focused on positively identifying the threat and there is simply not time to bring a weapon to the traditional sight line, focus and make hits.  Add to this the close nature of team mates and it makes a difference.

One of the reasons why the MP5 is considered by many, the gold standard in weapons for CQB.  Very compact easy to maneuver and a very high cyclic rate to put multiple rounds on target.

So the idler supports the other end of the centerlink which allows the tie rods to move in unison when the pitman(steering) is moved by the gear box

Thanks for sharing.  Not too far fetched. Funny as hell, but not far fetched. However what I have taken to doing is explain the problem and then task them with making corrective action. So mine would be mending cords, chopping ice and jump starting vehicles.  Those lessons stick.

OK, so I figured out that the bars are the GL Bars, 15528966 and 15528965

Thanks JR.  I've been looking at the same chart, but just figured out that the last 3 digits were what were stamped on the end.

I ordered them, new bump stops, a new sway bar, mounts and bushings, a new boot for the front drive shaft yoke, and brake pads.

That about rounds out the rest of the parts.

Should be able to get this thing rolling in a week or two, then it will be on to the waterpump...

Koot, Since most of mine spend their time on the pavement, I've never had to test your experience.  Ball joints and idler arms seem to be the only weak spots and they have lasted about 75-100K on mine that werent lifted.  The hub bearings are a known problem too.

Lifted trucks are just tougher on stuff.

Meh. Once they set the angle of the saw cutting the studs is easy  friction will keep the wall stable should an anchor fail but that won't happen in our lifetime.

Made a little more progress today got the compression stretch mounted after having to grind lose the last lift kit mounts that the knucklehead welded on. Some people should not be allowed to touch a welder. The welds were so bad they were gloppy all over the place. Took me an hour with a cut off wheel to break them loose and then I had to clean up the crossmember. Now I just have to make the final decision regarding the torsion bars and whether or not to replace them and if so with what  weight rating

Can anyone tell what the weight rating is on these bars?

I tend to favor the urban stance and hold...

slightly crouched, body at 90 degrees to the target arm outstreched fully and slightly above head level with gun canted 90 degrees so that any sightline is down the side of the slide.

D.O.T. / Re: Defective firewood

I just use a small pile of instant lite charcoal. That's usually good for a ten minute flame that'll get even wet logs dried off and cooking!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thats a good one too Blaine.  I carry those fire starter sticks that are wax and wood fiber in packages that you break in parts.  They come in a big box at the grocery store.

I'm going to try your method next time.

Ever since I doused a pile of wet wood with gas then I couldn't get the paper lit to throw on it. By the time i got it lit we had flames from vapor 6 ft out from the ring. Diesel don't do that.

Pretty good article.  Thought I'd resurrect this since we passed open carry in Texas that went into effect this January and there are liberals wetting themselves at the thought of standing in line at the store next to someone with a weapon who is not a police officer.

That's not saying that you don't seal the container for long term storage.  You don't want to leave it open to the elements.  There is just not enough moisture in what little air you seal in to cause them to clump.  Thus no need to seal in a oxysorb

Good clarification
