Title: Reloading bench
Post by: Bob Smith on February 19, 2021, 04:00:11 PM
Figured with the wet weather it was time to work inside on a reloading bench and storage area. Bought four kitchen base cabinets and a 10 foot preformed counter top. Need to head to town for some 1x4 material. Hopefully have enough storage for stuff but know that won’t be the case.

Well Bob if that’s the view from your reloading bench that would make me want to load a lot of ammo. Mine is in a seacan with no windows

Wish Dave lived closer, he could knock this thing out faster than I could pack the materials to him. Never have claimed to be a carpenter and it shows. Oh well, better than working in the rain.

Agreed, much better view than from my bench in basement. Here again l can’t get supplies so it’s all on hold atm.

Looks like a great view and a good clean work place to do your reloading.   Picture window with a purpose.

Looks like it will be a nice room.  I just came home with 10 ft of cabinets that will be re-purposed into the new gun/ reloading room.  Need to knock the cistern out of the basement and pour some concrete before I can start building walls though.  Planning on building a secure and climate controlled room in the basement for both reloading and storage as the safe is full and no more room for another or larger safe.

Sounds like a nice addition for sure. Nice thing about a secure storage room is it can't be hauled away. Wish my storage and reloading could be in the same space but I will make it work.

While going through years of stuff, I came across a box full of this dated factory ammo. Haven’t seen any boxes like these since I visited an old shop in Montana a few years ago.

Come on man you're old enough to remember the .35 cal , along with catapults.

That was my go-to deer rifle. A Marlin 336 in .35 Remy. Muzzle velocity was around 75 miles per hour but it just kept going.
