Prayers requested for my cousins son.

He is 16 and has been battling muscular dystrophy. He has been confined to a wheelchair for about 5 years now. Yesterday he was on his way to the doctors office to get some help with this flu like bug going around. My cousin thought he had fallen asleep in his chair on the car ride. Turns out he was unconscious and not breathing. They started compressions and were able to get his heart going but not able to breathe on his own. He was taken via ambulance to the nearest hospital where he was then taken by life flight to Texas children's hospital.

Upon arriving he went into cardiac arrest where they again gave compressions and were able to stabilize his heart.... about 1am his heart stopped again. They were able to establish a normal rhythm, but as of last I heard he was still unconscious and unable to breathe on his own. At this time they are unsure as to whether or not there has been any brain damage or not. They have not been able to keep his heart stable long enough to do a brain scan.

It is in God's hands and I know that regardless of the outcome it is all part of his plan. I pray that He bring comfort to the parents, grandparents, and siblings in this difficult time. I pray that He ease any pain or suffering Caleb may be feeling. I pray His will be done.

As of the time I typed the previous request, I had not received an update.

Shortly after posting, I received a call from my mother informing me that Caleb had passed. He is now with our Lord and Savior.

Prayers for strength and comfort as they tell the brother and sister and make arrangements for the services.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear this. Did Caleb know our Lord? Is he dancing with him this very moment :-) ?

I somehow think that he did,

Amidst the sorrow, try and not focus on our loss, but instead on his gain!

Don, I would like to believe he knew our Lord and is now getting to know Him better than we here on earth can. He was raised on The Word for sure, and his parents provided him all the "tools" to have a strong walk with God.

Being around him I always felt inspired. Even with through his struggles with MD he never showed weakness mentally or spiritually. Seeing him reminded me that no matter the problems I was facing I could overcome them as long as I accept that God has the master plan, as he had. I thank God for the years that he blessed our lives with Caleb, and for the lessons that God taught me through him.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. They are much appreciated. God Bless.

Chevsilver I am sorry for Caleb's passing. I always struggle with things like this wondering how I was so blessed when people such as Caleb and his family had such a difficult road. I take solace that the plan will be revealed to me someday and I will understand. My prayers and blessings for you all as you mourn his passing. He is in a better place.

JR continued prayers for your mom. Stay strong.

Been lifting all up- hope to hear updates as available.

I need to add our good friend Jane H. In Arizona to the list.  Diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney Cancer and has choosen to forego treatment.  She and her husband Gil are HUGE Cubs fans, so hopefully she'll get to see them in the Series this fall; She has been given 6-8 months without treatment.

Asking for strength for them both and freedom from pain for her-

Update on Jane:

She lost her battle this morning around 3:15am Arizona time.  Prayers for her husband Gil who's been her steadfast husband and caregiver through it all!  Jane & Gil sold me my second competition Brittany and adopted me and my family with that deal!  More like family than friends; the most accepting, supportive and caring people I know.  Ice cold Budweiser long-necks were something we relished and shared together, and there's not been a time since we met, that I don't think of Jane when I see or consume one and think of all the good times, laughs and giggles we shared together.  Harry Carry's voice saying the phrase "enjoy an ice cold Budweiser" bounced around in my head often when we were doing so...... :beercheers:

Jane got to see her beloved Cubs finally win a World Series - loved that team and ballpark so much that they named one of their most competitive Brittanys "Wrigley" who sired the pup they sold me that started our relationship.  When Wrigley passed, a mutual friend got us on the field during warm-ups - this was the season they'd reach the play-offs directly after the "Bartman" incident.  I snuck some of his ashes past security and sprinkled them behind home plate to "chase the goat" which Jane got such a giggle out of.  Took awhile, but got the job done, and she was thrilled and lucid to see them win the Series and all the fan fare.  I wonder if she "held out" just to witness the ring ceremony Wednesday?

She's with the Lord, this I know- God's Speed until we see you again Jane!

Glad to hear Mike!

So I got one to add.
My buddy Tony is going in for a kidney transplant on he 20th.
He's been fighting the losing battle for quite a few years now.
He's good, has a living donor, his soon to be mother in law so it has been planned.
He was hoping to make summer but his kidney function hit 8% a couple months ago and the transplant was moved ahead.
He knows our Lord, and I know he can use any help we can give him.
So if you fine men can add him to your prayers.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

My wife has had some struggles with depression and anxiety in the past.  The first time was about 7 or 8 years ago.  With the help of some counseling she was able to get over it for the most part.  Then about 3 years ago the anxiety came back.  At the time I was having some fairly major health issues which resulted in a few weeks in the hospital and a couple months of recovery time.  It was just all to much for her.  Again she was able to talk to somebody and had been doing really well for the last couple of years.

Recently she has been having a lot of anxiety again.  I don't think it is truly post-partum depression but it is focused around some of the struggles with caring for out little girl.  She has sought out some counseling again but she doesn't feel that the person she is talking to is the right person though so she is trying to find somebody else.  She is putting herself through a lot between the anxiety she feels when my daughter is being difficult to the extreme guilt she feels afterwards.  On days where she is feeling overly stressed/ anxious she will send me a note asking for me to pray for her that day.  If you all might join in it would be appreciated.

You can fix this yourself!

Anxiety and depression are spirits

You control spirits through the authority God gave us through Jesus.

Go get this book and read it quick:

Once you get what it says, simply apply the authority you already have over your wife AND BELIEVE IT!

Do that and her problem will be gone
