Flash back to the beginning

I started with a trailer I didn’t want,  and got talked into converting it to something useful.

I stripped it all to frame
Today I cut the extra metal off with that new torch setup.

My plan
2x2 angle iron to extend the deck to the full width.  I’ll use two pieces to make a triangle and weld in place as I go.  Then take some more 2x2 angle and weld a frame around the outside to hold my 2x6’s that cost more then gold right now.

The hitch portion is where I’m undecided on what to accomplish

My intention is to cut out what I can of this deck then narrow the front follow these lines.

My thoughts are.  Do I use the outside tube and bend it to the center or do I cut out what’s not needs and put plate on the outside?
I plan on purchasing an actual goose neck to weld in place and ditch this fifthwheel deal

I know it has almost no weight rating.  Think a few ATVs or maybe two sxs that’s it.
I’ll re wire the lights, I’ll purchase new tires and pull off the shocks.

What do you other folks think

Dave, leave the upper deck as is.  It will fit the Basnshee just fine...
I would triangle gusset the verticals on the gooseneck part.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I want to taper the top down so I don’t run it into my cab not paying attention.  It’s getting chopped lol

That deck would be pretty handy. Can you just cut off a little? You could put a short rail around it and have great storage. I'm thinking about doing that to my gooseneck.

Ken,
I’m thinking I should be able to leave some room up top for a chain basket or the like.  I don’t know that I want to but y’all stuff up there.  Always reminds me of watchin the neighbor and his brand new carbon fiber Mt bike and trying to drive the Subaru into the garage with the Bike on the rack lol it was terribly funny to watch

I like Kens idea and you want you chain stuff low. Put a box down in between the front vert rails.
