Ridgid Hybrid Table Saw
« on: February 09, 2017, 10:15:09 PM »
Picked up a new table saw. Wanted to get a full size, yet mobile machine, so I focused in on hybrid saws. Narrowed down to the Ridgid, and was able to use a coupon to get a good deal. Got it put together and dialed in, but my zero-clearance throat plate I picked up isn't fitting properly.

I did throw a diablo 50 tooth thin-kerf combination blade on it, since most of the time stock blades suck. Will do more of a review once I get some time. Made a couple quick cuts for fun and it cuts real nice on some scrap 1/2" CDX.

I also waxed the table and the fence rails with Johnson's paste wax and the fence slides realllly nicely now.

what size is the table?
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

That dry film lube stuff works quite well.

I used the J Deere stuff on my table saw down at the farm

The graphite powder? I considered that, but most of the stuff I read said people have been using paste wax for ages. I might try the dry film on the rails next time if they get sticky again

I use the graphite spray film on the channels and the rail of the rip fence, and on the screw/machine devices under the table. Very little sawdust sticks to them. I use dry film stuff, clear, not sure what it is called, on the table. Then I give everything a dusting of WD-40 to prevent rust and keep the glue from sticking.
In my shops, saw tables are, well, tables...

I will have to try coating the table and fence, never done that. I got a Porter Cable with folding legs to clear some room up.

Looks like you need to license that thing.

That vacuum will last the rest of your life. Mine has suffered through grease at the shop, a flooded house, and just about everything in between for the last several years.
