Either yr all slacking or you have all done nothing? LoL

This morning I spent arguing with a ornery pickup again *Patch  After temporarily winning the argument of man VS Np205 I went on to more interesting things.

I mowed again, which was relaxing save for hitting a steel fence post that materialized out of nowhere to mess up some blades. I was smart, and had old worn blades on for just such a surprise so...I changed to the new blades. I then washed my Exmark and jumped on the 4020JD for some retro bush whacking a few miles of dicthes. That accomplished killing the rest of the day and due to looming dark clouds and weather service promises of baseball hail and other such fun, I came home. I have now contributed nothing useful to a few threads, and intend to head out to the shop and try and accomplish something that seems project orientated. (likely prep a Np 205 to replaces patches metal filing filled version) I even brought my ear plugs to guard against hail noise on the steel roof.
Copy that on the hail!

I got clobbered with hail, four times driving back from the farm. I thought I was gonna lose my windshield twice. Really heavy rain, high winds...just as promised. NWS warning every 3 minutes on the radio.

I'll go out tomorrow and see if I have hail dimples on C-Max

Looks good but it does need bigger tires.

Why would SD need a fuel tank???

I'm gonna stick the fuel line in a bucket of diesel tomorrow and see if it starts...I'm tired of all this fussin'

Makes quick work of houses as well!

I punched a hole in the side of the house to get the wood burning stove out through

About then really big rain drops started falling. We were forecast for severe weather, so I ran like a frightened school girl to the safety of my truck and bailed out!

After that I got on the bush/woods right behind the house. I am pushing that back at least 100 feet and opening up the woods some, so critters, hillbillies and people can't come sneaking without me being able to line up a front and rear sight on em'

Notice how I separated the hillbillies out from "People?"

After repairing Sarge today, I got straight to work to finish cutting in the new path of the road that wraps back around the shed.

I moved tons of earth and piled it back against the steep bank. The plan is to taper all that out while adding some flat area up on the top side where I will build a big fire pit area.

There is no grading yet, just piling and stacking dirt and rock into the general area

This time I tried something different. Instead of cussing throughout the entire install, I prayed!

Really!

I knew it was going to be a white faced bear getting all that greasy, heavy crap reinstalled, so i asked Father God to just guide me through, and then i denied the devil any room there. I still smashed a finger, broke the snap ring pliers, and made a big hot mess of my semi clean crawler, but in the end it ran!

Duane left his work gloves there, so I used them for the greasy parts of the job!

Cool pliers whose handles flip to work in either direction. They were useless in spreading the snap rings used to hold the cylinder pins in place.

But the trusty not so new John Deere came in handy:

Allow me to brighten up you'll's day.

I got the cylinder back on and checked the air in the tracks...still flat!

I stopped by an auto parts store and asked them to give me the biggest most bestest snap ring pliers they had...This was their answer:

gotta love old hydraulics. The upside.... rarely do old machines require fluid changes....they self change at a alarming rate.
So True!

Which means there were probably a lot of parts which were replaced prior to my getting it...or not...

OBAMA WINS HIS WAR ON U.S. MILITARY
Exclusive: Joseph Farah says president 'has done what no foreign enemy could'
 JOSEPH FARAH

Congratulations are in order for Barack Obama.

The American military has never been beaten on the battlefield by any foe in any war.

But Obama’s eight-year war on the U.S. military has been a total success. By stripping it of its resources, demoralizing its soldiers, sailors and airmen, by purging its best commanders, Obama has done what no foreign enemy could do in 240 years.

He’s destroyed it.

That’s the assessment of U.S. military chiefs who testified before Congress last week and told slack-jawed members they have grave concerns about their ability to fight a war against any committed enemy – Russia, China, Iran or even North Korea.

They openly expressed worries about a lack of resources and training that would be necessary in any such fight.

U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley told the House Armed Services Committee hearing that he had deep concerns about the military’s readiness if America was to fight a “great power war” with China, Russia, Iran or North Korea.

Gen. Milley said the Army “is not at the levels that can execute satisfactorily … in terms of time, cost in terms of casualties or cost in terms of military objectives.”
Air Force Secretary Deborah James – who was also speaking at the hearing – said half of her combat forces were not “sufficiently ready” for fighting against a country like Russia.
She said: “Money is helpful for readiness, but freeing up the time of our people to go and do this training is equally important.”

Earlier this month, Air Force officials admitted they were facing a shortage of more than 500 fighter pilots – a gap expected to increase to more than 800 by 2022.

Concern over a more assertive Russia was highlighted earlier this month by Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove, who branded Russia a “long-term existential threat to the United States.”
“Our ability to meet other regional requirements for major contingency plans, we would be able to do that, but we probably would not be able to do that in the time frame that the current plans call for us to arrive to participate in that conflict,” Gen. Robert Neller testified.

The Marines would “surge” in such a fight, Neller said, and “provide the best, ready force that we can because that’s what you expect from your Marine Corps.”
“If that were to happen, I would have grave concerns about the readiness of our force: to deal with that in a timely manner,” Milley said. “The cost in terms of time, troops and the ability to accomplish military objectives would be very significant.”

Milley added: “The United Sates Army right now, you can take it to the bank, is ready to fight ISIS, al-Qaida, al-Nusra and any other terrorist group. When we talk about risk, we’re talking about great-power war with one or two countries: China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.”

“We can collectively roll the dice and say those days will never come, and that’s a course of action; that is not a course of action I would advise,” Milley said. “There is a high level of risk associated with those contingencies right now.”

The Army, the largest of the armed forces, tackles 46 percent of demand from regional combatant commands and has suffered the majority of the casualties over the last 15 years, Milley said.

The military’s anti-terrorism and counterinsurgency focus of the last 15 years has shortchanged the Army’s training and preparedness to fight high-end threats, hybrid threats, enemy artillery and enemy electronic warfare, Milley said.

In the Marine Corps, deployment rates are similarly stressing people and equipment, particularly aviation platforms, which Neller said are undergoing a widespread overhaul. The service needs to repair old aircraft – an activity that is fully funded in the 2017 budget proposal – and buy new aircraft.

Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, touted the rising number of military aircraft accidents as a symptom of an underfunded military and waning readiness. Both Neller and Milley said they were concerned by the trend.

The Army’s mishap rate rose from 1.52 per 100,000 flight hours in 2014 to 1.99 in 2016, Thornberry said. The Marine Corps’ mishap rate climbed from an annual average of 2.15 mishaps per 100,000 flying hours of the last 10 years to 3.96 in 2016.

The Marine Corps was closely tracking the accidents, but the Marines, Neller said, “don’t have enough airplanes to meet the training requirements for the entire force.”
Sounds serious, right?

Did you hear this on ABC, NBC or CBS? How about CNN or Fox News? Did you read about it in the New York Times or Washington Post? Neither did I.

I wonder why? It’s an election year, isn’t it?

Shouldn’t the American people know about the purposeful dismantling of the American military machine?

I have been wanting to do this for awhile

Ever been a part or witness God at work?

Ever seen anything from a stranger answering the question you've been asking yourself, to a "miraculous" something that saves someone?

I think it would be totally uplifting to share this with others

So to start it off, check it out. On my cell phone, in the message page, and in the block where I'd normally type a message, is a message. I didn't type it, but it's there

Exactly as it appears:

Phillippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Jesus Christ!

Yeah, we definitely need Duanes version. Probably no chance he got pics?

No pics, sorry.  I don't know why Don went all "Drama Queen" about it.

Well, I'm a sensitive guy and my feelings were hurt...I needed some space to express how it felt and to "let it all out" But now with the love and help from all of you, I feel I can put this in the past...Boo-Hoo

1.)  It was more of a long, step-off-of-the-track-backwards-and-roll-onto-your-back kind of fall.

I think Duane adequately described the PLF I refered to, although Bobby or HC might critique the fact that I didn't roll on my side, but flopped on my back (Again)

2.)  I wasn't really close enough to do anything when it occurred.

Odd, he never seems to be very close when work is occurring...hmmm, probably just a coincidence...

3.)  If I had been close enough and managed to reach out, my effort probably would have only spun him sideways, resulting in a more awkward fall and an injury greater than damaged pride.

He should have dived on the ground below me to cushion my fall...Nuff said, the black hawk pilot did nothing...typical for the breed, really!

4.) Like I said at the time, he landed about as good as he could have.

Well, yea, probably right

The pins, three total which had to be removed were held in place by either a circle clip or by a big bolt and washer affair. Once the clips were removed it was a simple matter to punch out the pins

The bushings look good, except for one which is scored, but the pins, I'm not so sure of. These pins are not cheap, so I may reinstall them but since some holes were found dry, I'll replace the grease zerks
