Don’t count on it, most public sector pension funds are way under capitalized and have been for years. This is nothing new as I’ve been reading about it for years. As I recall CA & IL top the list of must underfunded. Keep working on developing that ground.....

They have changed it radically in the last few years. They are taking way more, raising the retirement age and you get less.

I should be safe with the changes plus it is in our state constitution it must be funded. Then again, only we tax payers follow the law, not the law makers.

The scary part is that so very few are propping up the tent. With conditions going south literally day by day with all the immigrants and homeless, and gangs, and infrastructure falling apart and fires and floods, and ....

The scary part is that should those heavily taxed few depart, the system will collapse. And sadly, maybe it should. Why should we have a living breathing socialist system propped up by the rest of the country that for the most part, does not believe in practically anything going on in California.

just a dammed shame for the good people who are going to get crushed by it all, and for the nation as a whole, as a once viable part of our country ceases to contribute to the national welfare.

Let’s hope not JR.  The “enlightened few” will ruin it for everyone.

I believe the can take it away or change it if they were to declare bankruptcy.

States can't go bankrupt per federal law, only counties and cities.

Not that a few states would not like to change it.

Cool. Wast sure if your pension was state or local

By the new GASB rules most government entities are virtually bankrupt.  We have to move from defined benefit to defined contribution like more than 90% of private enterprise did years ago

There are so many state employee's it is fine for many years and show billions in assets.

I was lucky and got into the 3@50, everything now is 2.7@55-57 and you pay a lot for it.
