And you may have noticed I went with a slightly smaller framed tractor this time. I find myself working in close quarters to buildings and wood piles and dirt mounds often enough. The larger tractors, although very capable, lack the maneuverability I want,

That and this newest generation of tractors is offering loaders of much greater capacity. My old Kubota MX6000 60HP utility tractor could lift 1,700 lbs. This new Kioti, 60-horsepower unit can lift a jaw-dropping 2650 pounds! That's right at a half ton more!

This smaller-framed tractor has category 2 hitch parts with extendable lower links and a cool lever on the backside that allows one to operate the 3-point from the back of the tractor! How cool is that?

I do not like ag tires if the tractor will ever be used near a nice lawn, and for years have used the R4 industrial tires. The newest tire out there is called an R14 and is a combo tire that is not as aggressive as an ag but not as slippery as an industrial:

And the new Kioti is nestled in the driveway where it will work for a couple weeks before going down farmside for some bush hog work.

And it was delivered!

I had the rear tires filled, a front aux hydraulics supply for a grapple installed, and the thing prepped for use.

It looks and sounds good. Here is the Kubota leaving it's old home at the farm:

Yesterday I was into pretty deep mud and spinning 5-6 tires near my farm. After all the rains, the road to my place is just about impassible. I went to fetch my dump trailer so I could haul in some stones to get a few more beds done during my spring cleanup. I am trying to transform the plant beds from mulch to stone over a several-year transformation. I am in the middle of that right now.

Afterward, I had the blue beacon wash it thoroughly. $56 later it was looking pretty good!

You make me look like I'm sleeping. Wish I lived on site!

Agreed, 140+ days gone off site last year. It’s much easier when you live here. Although the wife is taking up valuable time now…..
Oh...Son...
You better rethink the way you just said that...
Thinkin like that and you're headed for a world of trouble...
