I have a busy day today. I have a cured  pork belly and loin going in the smoker soon. I have to a whole list of things to get ready on the truck and camper. There are not enough plugs for cell chargers, dash cam, and kids DVD player etc so I'm installing 3 more. There is a mysterious rattle that drives the wife crazy. I think I found it I just have to figure out how to fix it. I tried to explain that after 1.3 million miles things are going to rattle. Wasted my breath. Just shut up and fix it.

Jon, rattles.... that makes me chuckle. We have a newer tacoMa and then a 1988 Ramcharger. My wife drives the Ramcharger daily, and my son and I use the tacoMa.... there is one tiny little rattle/squeak in the rear door of the tacoMa drives me bonkers.... get in the Ramcharger EVERYTHING rattles, no problems. Wife is like, how does one rattle bother you but not the everything in the Ramcharger...

Good luck finding it and fixing it. I have spent some serious time fixing rattles in a different Ramcharger years ago. Seems the rattles will chase each other around the cab. Fix one, another shows up.

Man. The specs are impressive Bob but I’m struggling to like the looks of the 2019. Any pics?

Took a few photos this morning. I like the looks of the truck better than the 2016. Hopefully the color change will help keep it from getting beat up.

Thanks Ken, we really like it so far.
Dave, I haven't seen anything on the problems with the 19's hopefully it will be fine. I will use it mostly in tow haul mode for pulling trailers and the boat around so maybe the fewer shift points will be fine.

We spent Thursday and yesterday installing the 3.31 wave rear diff in her Stang. Today we spent a few hours at the local standing mile run. Basically you start at a dead stop, run a mile wide open timed. With a a half tank of E85 the new AFe coil overs, and the removal of the rubber in the suspension and replacement with spherical bearings, it handles so much better. It's running on 285 tires all around and handles far better than a vette on much smaller rubber...(we could run 305s) So now her daily driver/autocross/road race/standing mile cruiser is back on the road.

For those interested she ran the following
Kelli T    175.2   174.8   177.9   178.6      2017 Mustang PP-Oxford white

She said the mighty Norm built Coyote was still pulling as she crossed the mile....Not bad for a little engine that other than cams and head porting/tune is almost stock. For reference she was almost 20mph faster than most Corvettes/Hell cats and was only just a little slower than a Mcclaren. Think it ran 179 and 181 or something close. Not a all bad Saturday

Looks like fun Dave.
I  helped daughter #3 fly the coup. She insisted on taking the recording booth we built last year.  Each panel was about 200lbs...feeling it today.

Beggars can’t complain Ken!

So I’ve been in need a jib crane for shop. After deciding once again I’m to cheap to buy new $1200-$1600 and not being able to find what I want used (aka they’re all in the rust belt Midwest) I decided to build my own. Found a rancher who had a bunch of used oil pipe over in east weld county for sale at discount pricing. So he had a chunk that measures just shy of 11” in diameter and almost 3/4” wall & he cut off 14’ for me $50 loaded. I figure it weighs about 70# a foot without looking in the book. So just shy of 1/2 ton or 5 cents a # I now have my upright post for the jib crane....

so I have come to the conclusion that my brother in law is a complete moron.....(a farm kid with a masters degree, a bit of an oxymoron if you ask me).  ill vent about that in another thread.

well after I got the tarp finished last week and having to store my trailer at norms for just shy of a week, I now have it sitting in a secured area with cameras that I pay monthly for.

the cover fits really good and they even formed the front of it to fit around the curve of the "V" nose of the trailer.  it will stay there for a few weeks while I wait for the caulking to come in and can get it up to the shop that I am going to use while I strip it and re-caulk it.

Would be a great power plant for a bobbed deuce. Much better than the heavy boat anchors in the 900series trucks. Im not sure who made the power plant in the original 2.5ton trucks, I know it was a multifuel thing but I don’t recall seeing many with lots of power.

Maybe a rat rod?

So 2 things guys, first is picture orientation. This keeps getting asked so here is what I found.

Looks like when using a cell phone and direct uploading, taking a vertical picture loads fine. Taking a landscape picture will yield a twisted picture. When downloaded to the PC fist, then posted, they come out fine.

Second, the new gears are great. Quiet, the don't seem to drag as much on deceleration either. Still turning about 2k @ 70mph, but mileage seems to be up a little too.

We are leaving on vacation tomorrow. Headed to Caldwell Id. A bunch of other crazy people that built semi trucks to pull their campers are having a rally out there.  I have seen pictures of some of them. People though I was crazy. Some of these are just ridiculous. I want to say there are 35 or 40 families going. Should be a great time. Besides that I have some cousins out there I have never met. And I have a friend form here that lives out there now we are going to get together with.

We are meting up with another couple on the way and running up together. THe guys that put this together have a whole weeks worth of activities planned for us. Going to a shooting range one day. I have not put one single shell through the 270 I got last fall or the 9mm I picked up this spring. So I'm looking forward to that. We signed up for a wine tour. Never been on one before. Sounds like an expensive booze cruise. We are going anyway just to see the country.

There are a few guys that can run their whole camper off solar. I'm very interested in seeing that set up first hand. Future goals. I read a bunch about it but I'm a visual hands on learner.

Yea we will have to bob tail around. But it turns pretty sharp. I can get into most anyplace I want to.

Woke up to some good news here in Alabama. A bill proposing chemical castration for child monsters is on the governors desk.

Quote from representative Steve Hurst: “These things are just horrifying. I’d prefer it be surgical, because the way I look at it, if they’re going to mark these children for life, they need to be marked for life," he said. "My preference would be, if someone does a small infant child like that, they need to die. God’s going to deal with them one day.”

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
