Looks like a pretty good size one Bob

Some deliveries started showing up yesterday. Since my wife wanted to start carrying 9mm I thought I had some self defense ammo somewhere but I was unable to find it. I only stock ball ammo since that’s what I practice with. Well after searching and finding 2 boxes of Winchester JHP on line that I bought I was looking through another stash place and found 2 ammo cans full of 9m+p JHP. Oh well.

Then I thought I didn’t have spent brass for 9mm either so I ordered 500 rounds from DiamondK Brass. And then I found about 1500 rounds of spent 9mm in my reloading stuff.

I know I didn’t have projectiles, powder  or dies to those came in yesterday. Some Sierra 115gn JHP and some Hornady XTP 180JHP which I can run in either 9mm or my .357.  Those came in along with 8 pounds of CFE pistol which should hold me for a while. Still no small pistol primers but I’m expecting the local shop to have some next week.

Just need to find dies for the Dillon.

The 300blk stuff should be here Friday. About 30 more pounds of powder and some more projectiles.  I couldn’t find Dillon dies anywhere so I got in a bidding war for a NIB carbide set on fleabay but punched out when they got 50%over retail. Good thing too since I found some from another place that had them in stock at retail.

Check out ammoseek.com its a search engine for ammo and reloading supplies.

Anyway then crawled under the LB7 because it had been leaking fluid somewhere so it’s been parked for a month. Found a bad lower transmission line and ordered an AC Delco replacement that will be here Monday. Hope to get that back on the road so I can let the sissy truck rest.

All ammo is pricey and getting worse right now. Guess all the factories are closed for the covid. Never setup to load 9mm, just 40 and 45. 9mm is normally so cheap and I shoot it little, but have an OK stash.

Doesn't look to worried about you Bob, how tall is the bush?

Well, heat broke today. Just 87 now vs the 108 of the past few days. With it being super muggy too was just rotating working and cooling down.

Plus woke up to this today. Fires doing there thing again, everything is covered, schools closed (virtual?) which makes no sense.

Had cleaned the pool filters, what a pain.

JR, the huckleberry  is about 4 1/2 or 5 ft. She is a typical size blacktail doe for this area. They eat well around here and “no hunting” signs grow everywhere. My son hunted blackpowder here last year and the natives sabotaged his truck while he was back in the timber company ground.

JR recalling the last time this happened under BHO the manufacturers are using all the components and mfg loaded ammo as fast as we can buy it. Therefore there are scarcity of components. There’s more money to be made selling loaded ammo than components.

But I’m finding all kinds of stuff I forgot I had. Found three Colt LE6920s NIB I had forgotten about and found 1000small pistol primers too!

I’m also trying to decide if I have enough brownie points in the marriage bank to buy that S&W 500 with 4 inch barrel. That may be the entrance exam to the RMTW club...

How do you forget about 3 colts?

Brownie points, heck you just built the ultimate deck, you should be fine.

On another note, we are burning like crazy here guys. I live on the other side of the freeway, but lots of nice homes are burning just north.

Sorry to hear JR.  Prayers for your safety.

I bought them in 2009 or so and stuffed them in the back of a hiding spot and just haven’t thought about them.

Fire is to the west of us, right at the edge of town. evacs are right next to us, but many roads and even freeways between us still. This not a wind driven fire like 2 years ago, just dry, hot with lightning strikes all over.

If you watch the news, I know many of those houses burning. No wind thank god but the soot is nasty.

When getting my tank hose today I got a "jobsmart parts cleaning tank". Was going for the HF unit, but the jobsmart has 2 shelves, was built and has a drain tray built in. I will show my mods in the tool forum. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/jobsmart-portable-parts-washer-20-gal-tank-capacity

Got the old John Deere ready for a tractor ride this weekend. They cancelled the tractor pull so one if the guys decided to go on a ride instead.  I don't have a John Deere umbrella so the bud light flag umbrella off the patio will have to do.

Dag-gone! Man I hope you don't have to go through rebuilding after the fire, take:2!
Good news is that without the winds at least the fire fighters have a chance.

I have no idea what the capacity is. Its never not lifted anything I tried to pick up. I guess the heaviest thing I picked up was the back end of a 78 caprice wagon.

Only 4 tractors showed up for the ride. It was still a lot of fun. That old tractor of mine  leaks more fluids than I thought and I need a new seat.

So cool, Love that

My next door neighbor is in a club. They have meets a few times a year and drive through our neighborhood. Maybe 50-100 tractors on a good day. Who doesn't love hearing those old engines thumping along, like a two lung Deere, osr some crazy V8 powered beast. Almost all of the ones in this club are bully restored to near showroom new. Just a cool hobby!

Ken I think car shows are one of the more wholesome activities I’m going to try harder to attend them with these kids.  Keep them interested in cars n trucks and not girls and drugs.

Plans right?

The Bus lives again!  I finally got around to replacing the lower transmission line to the radiator.  Wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought except for all that fluid that had leaked.  Glad I went OEM and not the aftermarket lines.  Those snap clips make it easy and I’m glad I didnt have to replace all the fittings and then add the AN fittings and hose.

I kept my stock lines and will prob replace the the crimp line part. The aftermarket taught how they are bigger for better flow. Issue is the elbows are smaller inside dia than the line, so they are restrictive. I will say I have no leaks and it is solid, but a pain to route and protect.

Well, I am technically on vacation until Tuesday morning. I went to finish some lingering homework from my 1st semester of college. I was given an extension due to the 'Rona, and my work situation, went to finish the last few assignments and they were gone. The instructor had cleared it and given my semester scores.

Quick back story, I haven't had an additional schooling since I left HS back in 2002. So that being said, I pulled an "A" in my Regulatory Compliance course which is mostly all the OSHA regs broken down... LOTS of reading and typing. The Fundamentals of Occupational Safety course, I pulled a "C". That was lower since I didn't get the last 2 weeks of assignments finished, but my overall GPA is 3.0, not what I wanted but I'll take it for now.
So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!

Bobby. Life is a journey and we all learn for life. I’m not a big believer in worshipping at the alter of formal education. I’ve had admin assistants that that had masters degrees and couldn’t tie their shoes. Street smarts combined with the right formal education is a powerful combination.
I’ll take that any day over the masters or PhD with no experience. I know your experience will make the formal education a great force multiplier.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
