This is the sentence I was referring to, but it's moot after your last post. Haha

First Cub Scout meeting of the season last night. I guess I am the new assistant Webelos leader.  I enjoy helping out and doing the behind the scenes stuff.

The Eagles club sponsors our troop. It just so happens the guy in charge of getting what we need for the troop had an affair with my first wife. Pretty much off and on the whole 11 years we were married. We dont like each other much. But, we have a good network. I shouldn't have to deal with him much.

Shade Dave, Ken resides in the suburb next to hell and well hell is HOT!!

Went into shop this morning for a couple hours just to organize (weekly event with large parts coming and going) and sweep. Makes Monday mornings a whole lot easier I’ve found.

Got a couple more sheep yesterday. 2 100 lb feeder lambs. Now the kids have to haul corn from the shed down to the barn. So I decided Jasper needed his own tractor. L110 Deere. No deck, 700 hours on the clock. , New battery and full tank of gas for $140. Now I just have to fix the wagon.

Dave, just more shade for working on cars. The western sun is killer in the afternoon so this 35' extension will greatly improve work conditions.
... the lot is 1 acre.

We all know what Don's tractors go through on a daily basis Shawn. I doubt the brand has anything to do with it.

Put up some tin today. Only got up to 111.  But it's a dry heat they say.

Oh yeah and tried some heavy hauling with the new trailer. Lol

Yes, shade makes all the diff in the world. I am about in the same boat with my new land. Normally there is a little breeze too, not to bad as I have protection on 3 sides.

So the prelude to my Thursday night bad news was a great day on the water...for most of us.

We went out for a famil recce of the lake for some of our members.

Spent the day cooking (I know not TX or AZ heat) on the lake. Toured into spots most wont go due to rocks and deadheads. Spent a few hours fishing for fishes, and then fishing for this...

And this...

Which amounts to this...

So as a PSA to any and all pontoon boat owners, have a very good look at the welds holding the tubes to the deck. This boat was about 10-12 years old and not that many hours on it.

Fatigue led to failure of about two thirds of the structural welds and then one left turn and it rolled off.

Happy boating.

Thats a good PSA

I’d probably suggest five good years where a good look is not needed.
But knowing and now seeing the fatigue put on an amazingly small amount of welds you’ll want to look at least at the beginning of the year.

He liked to load it tail heavy, so it cut the waves better.
This may have sped up the fatigue, but I’m no expert there.

Picked this up from the post office

300blk 8 inch upper. Free float, polished nickel boron carrier, LPK and grip and big latch charging handle.

Gonna be a pistol build soon and going to post in weapons section.

Will also be buying dies and a new heavy duty trimmer to make my own 300blk

Will spin on my thunderbeast arms suppressor and see how it works and sounds.

Yes, a rifle round designed for a suppressor.

This showed up today for me. $400 shipped, hard to beat and the band saw can go!

I had been looking for some time. Band saw takes up to much room and doesn't cut straight either. Way less room for this too!

Just expand the space!!! Make it a not tiny shop, just a little on the small side, so kind of a medium sized shop... :)

Well. Borrowed the mini kubota to dig a hole to lay my dog.
While I had it, tore out the fire pit blocks and went one longer and one wider.
Original went in with quad and blade, and was flattened not levelled. This time I dug out the 9 odd inches of off level and my cdo is feelin mucho beuno.

Then I went to digging rocks out. They are hard on the mower and plentiful. Can see the one no fella in front of the kub. More to dig tomorrow.

You ever dig 260ft of trench, in 118* ,  to run a new water line, because you thought that the original galvanized pipe was restricting supply, because when running multiple evaporative coolers there's not enough water to wash your hands in the sink?
Then realize that it was a plugged soft water system, that was thought to have been bypassed last year when it went bad, but turns out it wasn't?
Yeah, me neither.

2 big ones (48"), and 4 others in different sizes, including a small one for the dogs.

JR, you can have that piece of s***!
Wish I never rebuilt it. Won't dig through our hard pack (caliche) I hit at around 24" deep at the shop.

I did the 260’ trench.
Was not in that kind of heat.
I used the backhoe in my previous post.
I’m in peat, sand, clay, and oh my rocks. But they all come out easy enough.

I did the 260’ trench.
Was not in that kind of heat.
I used the backhoe in my previous post.
I’m in peat, sand, clay, and oh my rocks. But they all come out easy enough.
Thank goodness I don't have rocks, but did chew through an old gas line.
Zero moisture in the ground, well until I hit the existing water line.....twice.
