Good call replacing all 5 tires. Glad there was no damage caused by the blowouts. Did you even get out of AZ?

Dang, you must be going pretty close to my place. Was thinking about heading up there tomorrow, looks like weather is coming in too.

To bad about the tires. Never makes for a fun trip.

Sorry to hear about the crap tires Ken. I'm sure you know this, but a man I respect who operates a shop in Wyoming and sells tires like crazy once told me, the best upgrade to a trailer you can make is getting rid of the crappy tires they come with. I wish you the best of luck with the new tires.

I know it's late but finally rotated drivers after 16 hours...barely hitting SLC now...about 1/2 way there.  Man I must have aged since the last road trip..back, feet, neck..everything is sore. Lol
JR, we went through parker (where we found the best small tire shop in the state), went around Vegas (another hiccup in the journey), and taking the 15 all the way up.

I "Buzzed" Parker once, leading a flight of Chinooks. The Sergeant Major, Walt came from there, asked for a flyover. Right down main street at maybe 20 feet above the rooftops at 140 knots. Must have been epic on the ground.

Went to work for  for likely 6 hrs of OT by working in the health office, afterwards I get to go watch a couple friends go through pool camp for their Veterans' scuba course. I will attempt to take video for the charity with my gopro.

EDIT... I was at work for about 9 hrs.

Finally made it to Idaho.  Just slept 12 hours after dropping the trailer off at the property.  It's a muddy mess.
Last pic is the place we're staying at.. it's pretty nice.

Got most of the plating done. Went and bought a generator off Craigslist on a whim. Turns out its a PE-197 military generator.  I didn't know what I was getting and the person I talked to on the phone had no idea the are make or model. I got it home and took some pictures. Then I hooked up a battery and got a can of starting fluid and hit the button. It started.

I don't know my plans for this right now. I just want to clean it up and get it running good. It has a Hercules engine on it. I was trying to make a new thread but for some reason it wouldn't go through.

Anyway, today we are going out to the Hard Rock Casino in Sioux City for brunch. My wife's birthday was the 16th and mine is tomorrow.

Happy birthday Jon.
Our pipes and drums band had our first public performance yesterday and a Combat Medic Statue dedication. Could’ve been better, but also could’ve been much worse considering we’ve only had our pipes for 2 months.

Happy birthday Jon.

Pipes sounded pretty good from here!

I can get cell signal at the property with the truck cell booster now,  but no internet..so can't check the forum until we get back to the rented casa.

Started on the easement today.  Rented a skid steer to make life easier.  We stripped the mud from the top and found a decent base. The guy that delivered the rock said we could go with 2" shale and no fabric.

Ken, what’s the goal for this trip? Clear and improve the easement, clear a space to build? Are You going to start a retirement hide thread?

SVL-75...

How did that thing work Kenneth?

If you remember, I originally purchased that machine, but before delivery, a new SVL-95 came in and I just couldn't pass it up.

Cutting my road base in with it is like no effort at all

Its ashamed you can't just forget to return it. A machine like that on a new property would be priceless!

Looking good Ken, nice there is a good base to work with. The existing roadway, is it an old log truck road from the  landing/clearing? The Clark Fork is really moving and full, probably not much fishing right now.

My rock guy lives down in the valley below my property.  He showed me how much snow he had..it covered the window on an old shack..about 10'.
I asked him if my place got the same and he said double this winter. Would explain why we found a few elk and deer skeletons that weren't there last August.
First 2 pics are us working the driveway that goes up to a small clearing, from the easement.  We were going to make one angled up at a slight grade but turned out to be too many trees.
Last pic my friend running an excavator for the first time,  building a spot for a well.

Kitchen started getting torn apart today... at some point some idiot put a screw into the main stack from the master bath (toilet and all) and then removed the screw and patched the drywall.

Reminds me Ken I need to measure for a thumb. I have lots of rocks!

Was a pricey day at the tractor store. Service $800 for oil change, fuel filter, new horn button and grease!!

$200 for 3 filters and a over a grand for 72in Land Pride HD box blade. Others were 5/16 wall and pin only 3 point. This has 3/8 walls, captured pins with sacrificial rippers.

If you sink the nail or screw it becomes a snag point for things flushed like toilet paper or the “flushable wipes”
Not sure which is worse crap coming out of a pipe or cutting the pipe to see why crap won’t go down the pipe
