I moved out to the camper. Zane and I were quarantine in the basement but sleeping on that worn out old couch we have down there wasn't helping anything.  Watched a bunch of old 80s movies today.
Zane wanted to stay in the basement because he got the diarrhea.  I never got that. Just body aches and light headed when I get up and start doing stuff.  Worst thing I can't even taste my beer.  Poured a couple shots of peppermint schnapps and it was like drinking water.

I spent the day changing out 20+ crappy rocker dimmer switches and spending 4 hours figuring out the wiring schiff mess that was between 2 x 3 way switches!

I havent done stairs like this in almost 12 years.....fml....lol

Finally got the injection pump cleaned up. Not sure how this truck even ran.
Turned it up a bit while I was there. Changed the fuel button from a #27 to a #20 (more fuel) and hopefully raised the governor from 2100rpms to 2300ish. Gotta be careful with this old gal. She doesn't have a turbo.

Saw a later 6x6 the other day here. It was on at least 60in tires, what a monster. No wonder they get 4mpg.

Got new Dr feelgoods on the truck today.
My old Duratracs are about two years old.
They had never been off or rotated.
Have about 50k on them give or take.
Had to get ugly to remove them when installed the air bags.
Anyway. To make a long story longer.
Two were flat before I left to hunt.
I put my Nokian Rockproof’s on, as we were supposed to have decent and unseasonably warm weather until next week.
Fast forward to deer hunting and snow. And about a foot.
Fast forward to this week.
Freezing rain and more snow.
And at least a foot at home.
So, new tires had to happen.
And boy am I glad I did.
Forgot how sticky they are when new.
I’ll get home safe now and remount the Rockproof’s onto another set of wheels.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Started getting my taste back yesterday.  It was awful. Everything taste terrible. It's a lot better today. Off quarantine tomorrow so I can move back in the house. I'm feeling much better but still short of breath when I start moving around.

I had one of the real world life is ending for me moments today, closed casket and all kind of moment.

D8 dozer on sight with the owner running it, I had been on a Hamm roller most of the day compacting after he got the lot to grade, large parking lot we are doing for storage units. I have been itching to learn how our GPS systems in the rigs work so I asked if I could take a couple of passes with him in it as see the how to’s of it….. he sat in the seat and I stood on the outside step (2x2 ish pad) and held onto the grab bars with both hands.  Scooting down the lot and when we got to the end he didn’t think much of it and flipped the switch, yes I said switch for reverse. Dozers these days have a toggle for forward and reverse, there is no dead man switch or let go and it stops feature, it simply goes until you press the brake pedal.   When he switched to backwards I was I’ll prepared and fell backwards onto the 6” tall mud tracks rolling backwards full speed!!!! I managed to grab one handed the oh $h! Handle as my back fell onto the tracks with both feet and legs getting raked with the tracks pulling me to the back and under!
The boss has ran equipment for years and all I can still see is the look on his face of what do I do what do I do! I managed to hold up enough of my body weight to not get pulled back under the step and he managed to kick the dozer to a stop.    When he stopped I rolled off onto the dirt 5’ below and caught my breath!
This was about 5:30 this eve and a long drive home from idaho to think about how serious it was of my stupidity to stand up there with good intentions.

There are close calls and close calls.  This was a big one for me!

The boss just called me at 8:45 to ask if I’m really ok or if I need anything.  He told me I ought to go to church this Sunday and thank the lord for the life he has given me back because I should have been killed today, and my wife be preparing for a closed casket funeral next week.

The dozer runs about 18 mph in high and I know I wouldn’t have moved fast enough if I got tossed off the back rolling backwards or if I got sucked under the step and ripped into chunks.

Finished the awning for my office. Southern exposure makes it pretty warm... enough so that I'm still running the swamp coolers in late November.

Built from scrap metal I had.

Purple range.  :beercheers: :beercheers:

Looking great everyone.

I’m home now.
Truck did good.
But getting a TPS code non stop.
Points to the wiring harness from fuel pedal through firewall.
If it wasn’t -10 and blizzarding I might look.

On to winter clean up for me.
Thankfully most was done before I left.
Merely a few tires to put away and some garbage to remove.
Then get the garage ready for a snowmobile engine.
#Itneverends

Oh snap.
Need to get the other truck parked for winter too.
Coolant(which I now have again), drive shaft, batteries and trans top up if needed.

Got a good test drive in today, from the casa to the shop, about 10 miles.
I was in traffic when I remembered to turn on the brake lights.... forgot that it's required to be switched on in a military truck.
Guess I also missed the cut air line on the front brakes during pretrip. It was rubbing on the output flange on top of the axle. Locked up the rear axles a couple times at stop lights.

..but she runs better than before. Might not sell it now.

Looks like a low rider with those itty bitty tires! Put some 60's on it.

I agree. Crazy how that truck makes 46" tires look small, but I don't have 3-4k plus shipping for the big ones right now
