I did that about 20 bags awhile back, wall and attic. It was not fun but not hard.

Show us more Dave, I need to do that too.

Let me know how that works Ken.  I may be adding some in the attic
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

I am ready to punch holes in walls in my basement to add more also.  It’s a icebox down there

Well, the green machines that the box stores carry for cellulose, are pretty slow.  Going as fast as possible,  with my brother in the attic and myself force feeding the machine,  the best we can do is 10 bags an hour,  or 6 minutes per bag. ...that's 18.6 hours if we continue without breaks. I might run down to the rental and see if they have something bigger.

Was your basement finished? If not spray foam is the way to go

The only downfall to spray foam is the building envelope is so tight you have to watch the humidity and in my cases I’ve had to add dehumidifiers.

They can do retro spray foam through a small hole at the top of each cavity, provided there is no horizontal blocking in the wall.

I do have some blocking in my walls but between the half wall of the foundation and my wall on the inside I have some large air gaps.   I would like to try it in a room

We did my moms walls and the attic. She fed, I crawled, worked good. Attic was easy once you were up there, walls had no blocks but you should have seen the holes for just a 900sf house!

There are different types. Open cell is not as air tight as closed cell.

73 bags should cover 50’x100’ 10” deep. And you want to use 186?   How big of an area are you doing?   Also this should be done in the summer when you  can enjoy being in the attic

Sheetrock crew was here at 7am this morning to rock the garage after the spray foam and plastic was put up on the ceiling.  Got it all done by 5pm.

Also my daughter actually asked (shocker!!) me to go to the indoor range to shoot.

She has very limited time on the range and it was great to see her have an interest. Being in College she leans somewhat liberal so this was a plus.  We had fun.

Mr woody,  you sure 'bout those numbers?
We're doing about 4500, and the calculations showed 10-12" deep to get r38. My brother was running it about 6-7 and I almost had to point a gun at him to get him to go back and add more.

Sure it changes pattern but adds BS. I hate the new small tire sticking way out look. Be sure they are billet at least. Most wheels are cast so the spacer is stronger than the wheel.

Doing that on my burb. H1 wheels are 7 BS so I will run a 2.5 spacer to keep the 4.5 BS most of us have now. May go a little more since I like the tire flush in the rear.

I got a smokin deal on a set of wheels and tires tried one on to find the backspacing wasn’t enough

I would really like to move to a larger wheel to accommodate for other people’s waste being my use.   Our local area everyone is getting rid of the stock wheels for really cheap with new rubber.

    Ken,
It’s been awhile since I did the insulation thing.  The first time I spread 20 plus bags by hand and a metal dust pan.   Didn’t know you could use a blower.   School isn’t free, gotta learn somehow.
Seems like we used 20 bags with the blower and piled that up deep.   It’s been 20 plus years. And my memory is good just short!

Bobby, Might be a little of the camera angle but yeah she was leaning too far back. She is very much a rookie and 20.. so my goal was just to keep the muzzle pointed down range. :)

That leaning is a female thing, all 4 of mine have done it or do it. I know every time at the range I’m commenting on it. Typically more so with pistol and than long gun too.

My wife does the same thing.  I sometimes wonder how she can even stand comfortably.  She has been getting better about it lately.  Anytime I shoot with her it is just for fun.  She needs to get some real training from somebody other then me.
