We had a nice small meal for Thanksgiving.  Started a new tradition.  Zane wanted to say a prayer before dinner. From now on hes the one giving the blessing. I always make the turkey and a few other things in my kitchen in the basement since we usually have 20 people over. Some of the guys and I hide down there with the turkey and stay out of the women's way. This year Jen made it. It wasn't very good. It was hard to stay out of the way and say you are doing it wrong. But I did. It was edible but the animals outside are getting the leftovers. The chickens will clean every sliver of meat off the bones. In her defense it was a different brand of turkey than we usually get and it was half the size. I really do believe the size affected the flavor. The bird was not allowed to mature.

Insted of black Friday shopping we are going camping. Going to go check out a campground we have never been to before.

Jasper made this at school.

Friend stopped by this Am to give me a hand unloading my bike from the truck since I apparently can do that.

He brought me an early Christmas gift

Produced in between 1973-1983 as a hobby saw, but used by many in professional use,

The history of Stihl is really neat to read about and how they are a debt free company, 3100 employees in the US and other plants around the country

I’ll be looking for some parts,  choke switch is missing,  it has a nasty little knock in the motor, so maybe some bearings or a new crank.   Time will tell

I’d like to build a little “hot saw” with some porting and maybe a high compression position or maybe kill the head down a little bit for higher compression.

I owned one! I called it a climbing saw. 36" strap hooked to a belt used to cut branches way up high. I think an oak fell the wrong way and crushed it...Either that one or the Stihl 025 I bought from a real Oregon logger turned Armee pilot

Well since I made it tithe cabin on Tuesday we’ve had at least another 8” of snow.
And....it’s snowing again.
I tried to go pack the trail some more but without gps, and in two feet of slush with 1/2 mile visibility I turned around when I could not see where I was going yet and where I had come from was nearly gone.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll get at the trails some.
Shoot. I just want some 40 below and no more dang snow for even...a week...
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Not sure but that chain may be dull....

Today I made another run into town and bought a matching spare from discount tire. Unlike Duane I had no appointment but was in and out in 15 minutes.

Then picked up a cedar 4x4 to finish the base of the posts on the kitchen and some new 4 ga wire to upgrade the service to the shop since the old service will have to be moved

Scored a big set of husky or kibble or whatever the wrenches are at Home Depot. I really only needed 18-24mm but those alone from craftsman were almost as much as this whole set with SAE through 1-1/4 and both metric and SAE stubbies.

Then put 83 gallons of diesel in the Bus and started stripping sheet metal off the shop in preparation for the concrete guys.

Yeah she is a little dull for sure.  I have been reading about putting a square file(use a triangle file) to produce a better cutting edge,  I’ll post video

I don’t own the dewalt, borrowed one for a trip because I didn’t want to take a big saw.  It works well but in the end I still love the smell of a classic 2-stroke motor

My concrete buddy wanted me to wait a week for a 1/3 yard of concrete so I did it myself. I intentionally buried the mixer in the rear of a conex so I wouldn't ever be tempted to mix bags ever again. Oh well.

A footer for another section of roof at the shop. This 12 foot section will cover the van box room that gets very warm, and I keep some expensive tools in there.

I squared it up with the right amount of fall for a future slab. Welded the post on after it dried a little.

Made it out again today. Tried to not die shovelling the snow. Apparently I did well. Lol.

I think that’s a 24” shovel.

Found a spot dry enough to stop.

Spots are deep.
Most is only about 6-8” so not too bad.
It’s the three feet of snow that is causing the most issues.

Sam I assume the snow acts as a coat of insulation and doesn’t let it freeze under it,  kind of similar to my driveway when it’s warm and snows,  the concrete is wet and the snow shovels off nice until the wind blows anyway

Exactly Dave.
Now that I have some tracks in it should freeze up.

I’ll check it tomorrow and we likely will be good to go finally.

Dave, was referring to Don having the Dewalt. 77, if I had known and not driving right away would have got you 1 or 2, my drink of choice also, but keep your cigar.

I never really like being on iced over lakes and such, just feels funny. When I was young, never thought about it.

We struck out at fishing and burned the Dutch oven meat loaf. It was still good after you cut off the char. It was still a relaxing weekend at the lake. Now we have to buck 25 mph winds on the way home. That's OK. We are in no hurry to leave.

Trust me, if my auger would've dug through this crust, it would be round. Had to use the backhoe and soaked it overnight to get it dug.... plus was going to use a 40' street lamp post to light up the back area but changed course.... that's why it started at 30" deep, then backfilled to 18" when I had to start mixing. .. it's still 26" square under the top section tho. Lol

I never can pass up a deal on a turkey after thanksgiving,  I usually buy one or two and use them in the freezer for various meals

This year we didn’t eat here. So I am cooking one today.

Used some fins and feathers seasoning and butter.  Smoke at 275 till meets temp

So this happened on the way home last night.

Nice sunset...but the actual point is this.

The milestone pictures.
Slow speed attributed on icy gravel in a curve with oncoming. Should have stopped but on a curve. Sunset picture shows it, the ice is real.

I have my suspicions that even I will be shocked when the parts exchange begins to occur.
I pulled my bypass filter off this summer, it was leaking and I didn’t have filters and about 86k on the oil. I had to actually go mining for the bolts in the frame rail.
The donor truck didn’t drive real well so it will be just that. Issue with bumps and bottoming.
Easy enough to fix, but it’s an LS not LT l, radio not same, and the list goes on.

It’s been beat on, driven like it was stolen, and put away worse than wet.
I cannot complain.
And am also happy with the durability.

Don't feel bad about my 205k seeing more like this.

I drive it good, but rarely beat on it.

Had to go to the city on parts run so I grabbed a few gifts for the wife and hit Sheels while I was there. Allowed one box of ammo per caliber. I got a box of 9mm and a box of 20 GA for my daughters shot gun. The 9mm is  CCI Blazer aluminum. Never seen them before. I don't really like CCI brand in 22lr but I thought I would try these.

You know you are out of shape and weak when you can only move 800lbs of the 1200lbs and lose grip in your hands and forearms and have to finish the last 400lbs the next day.....lol

Does it count if i had to walk from the garage, down the long 6 step sidewalk, set 1 down to open door, puck it up and walk thru door, put the other one down to close the door, then pick it up and walk from one end of the house to the other?

Well polished up the left side of the garage queen,
Rebuilt the carburetor and installed new jets, gaskets, hoses.
On to the right side

Did some redneck fab today.
This 36 Ford was hit in the mag wheel. Barely scratched the wheel but bent the heck out of the axle and housing.
Took me half the day, but got her straightened out.

I just got a set of moser axles for my El Camino with the 8.5 posi from a BGN. On clearance from Summit in sparks.

Think I have a bent one (wobbled on dyno) and for how could I say no!
