This is under the 2004 Chevy express that we use to haul the family most of the time.

I woke up to kids cryin and wanting food,  I decided I didn’t want any of that and left in sunshine and better skies ahead.   Spent the morning with a buddy millin out a few of his 80% lowers and putting a trigger in one of his for him.

Then home to feed kids lunch, went to the garage to get mad at the bed frame.

Think I’m gonna buy a toy hauler and be done with this mess!

Just got offered 6k for my toy hauler, I paid 10, ten years ago. That is with the water damage and all. Although I planned on staying in it at the ridge, this might be worth taking. Then buy something cheap I can flip.

Just about done with the pantry project. A few touch up spots to go

Then working on the trailer today to add the brakes I’ve had on the shelf for 6 months and a complete rewire and a new drop leg tongue jack

Had to trench 150ft to run power to the new yard lights. After taking almost 2 hours to just cross the driveway, about 50ft, I got mad and swapped engines.

Someone had installed an 8hp Briggs at one point, and from research they either came with an 11hp or 13hp.

So, after about 7 hours of fab I got this 13hp 420cc Harbor freight engine installed. Man what a difference.

I was able to run the last 100ft in 18 minutes. I might even add a battery for the electric start, although it doesn't really need it.

Shake down trip to Kansas was success. Everything that was fixed performed as it should. However, The tail shaft bearing in the transmission is out. It kept getting worse and worse all the way home.

30" iirc.

The trench above was only 18"+. I marked it with yellow tape about 6" down but don't ever plan to run anything else down that side of the yard.

Did you buy the lights or are they s one thing you had lying around the shop?  I’m looking for some good lights to light up the night around the house. Right now I just have the old two head floodlight setups on all the corners.

This company does amazing things with lights

Looks like Ken used these, from a earlier photo

I might be wrong though

Had another no-notice four wheeling mini trip this weekend. Was down my sisters house and took off into the Daniel Boone National Forest in the D-Max.

I wish I had pics of some of the stream crossings. We are just coming out of winter and just past an epic winter storm and flood, Tens of thousands of trees are down and big piles of sand and gravel washed up near the stream fords. I had to drag over that while finding my footing on the slippery stones. That truck did it all without skipping a beat. That grizzly locker continues to amaze!

Anyway, guess its time to get over to the truck wash...lotza mud on everything.

I called Freightliner about a new transmission. I knew they would be pricey and don't intended on taking it there anyway but I wanted to compare prices. I gave the gentleman my Vin number to get the right parts. It appears there is only one Meritor 10 speed transmission available in the whole country. with a price tag of $5,300. Not including labor.

I found a used Reman with low miles that can installed for $2000. That's transmission and labor all together. If it needs a rear main thats another 100 bucks and $700 if it needs a clutch. Won't know any of that until they get it apart. Then we go an another shake down trip.

I have had this truck for 4 going on 5 years. I finally came up with a name for it. That name will be revealed when the decals show up. If you are a fan of the TV show The curse of Oak Island you can probably guess what that name is.

Like I said it was no-notice. One minute I'm relaxin' in my sisters log cabin, then someone says, "Lets drive into the Daniel Boone to see "Cool hole"
Next thing I know were on a washed out two track, fording streams.

I got all of the E-Track drilled, bolted together, primed and painted.  I forgot red loctite on the first half, but hit the second half and some of the first half as well.  There are a couple of sloppy paint runs and small over sprays.....but i am not that worried as it is a dump trailer and is used for other purposes than just dump.  I did not put any E-Track on the inside as i do not want to have to constantly clean stuff out of them.  If i need to strap something down, there are 4 welded attachment points already there.

Once i use it tomorrow to get a piece of equipment i bought, it will get dropped off at the tarp shop for a custom made tarp.  Ill drop my slicer off as well and have them make a cover for it....

Got a call from the ex at 4am. Daughter was in a rollover accident. Minor injuries. Treated and released except for one passenger that refused treatment.

Her and some friends were out messing around drinking. She let a friend drive her car  because he was "more sober".  He was cited for zero tolerance not drunk driving so he didn't have much I guess. The driver is the son of a family friend. His Dad is the guy I was scrapping campers with a while back.  Anyway thats beside the point.

The other occupant another kid I have known for a long time. Hes has been friends with my kids since grade school. He was ejected and refused treatment then went to a friend house. The ex is going to track him down and make sure he is really OK or just running because hes scared or whatever.  He is over 21. I assume he will be charged with procurement of alcohol to minors. Jozelyn was not charged with minor in possession but gain its a safe assumption that charges will be brought later.

The main thing is I think everyone is in pretty good shape. Driver got a broken wrist and some stitches. Jozelyn got some bumps, bruises and scratches. 3rd kid unknown condition. He walked away form being ejected so I suppose hes OK.

The car is  in both our names so when she paid it off I just have to go to the DMV and remove mine.  It is on my insurance with her listed as a driver. Even though she dont live here. When we got her the car I called the insurance company and told them the situation. Just in case something like this happened so we should be covered. I also carry an umbrella policy.

Lost control in a wash on the road. Slid Into the ditch on the other side of the road backward. Hit the culvert and flipped one time end over end. Landed shiny side up on the road. Everyone walked away. Insurance already sent a confirmation email for the settlement offer. This was a 07 grand prix

passenger occupancy zone looks pretty intact. Credit to modern design

Happy the injuries were not severe.

Good choice to chase down the 21 year old. Brain bleed will kill you days after you got the concussion.

Fiber company is going through the neighborhood,  they are 15’ into my yard from curb.  They cracked a corner of my driveway, the wrecked the neighbors new sod and his mow strip.

Who runs a 15ton tracked machine across a driveway? Without something to support, then drop it off the edge

Not happy since my driveway was poured in a single pour of concrete! No joints, just 1” cut joints in all the right locations.

Glad everyone is OK Jon. As for no cites, I think if there is an accident with injury with alcohol, someone is going to get charged. Thats how it works here at least.

Dave, thats to bad. Tell them to repair or sue them in small claims. They will rollover fast that way should never see court. There was no excuse for that!

If you need the promise of eternity in the kingdom of heaven to be a good person … You were never a good person in the first place!
