Some Glock Mods
« on: December 23, 2015, 08:42:24 PM »
Well, since the gun oil was out and the kitchen table was a mess with gun building exercises, thought it might be time to upgrade a couple of my Glock pistols.

I added the 3.5 LB. Ghost trigger first to both my Gen 4 G19 and Gen 4 G23

I just picked up the factory Glock pin tool

Punch out the aft pin and pull up the trigger assembly

Clamp the pistol tightly in a vise. Don't worry about damaging it just crank as hard as you can!
Then get a 3 lb hammer and a wedge that you use to split hickory logs and bang the trigger mechanism apart!
Well, maybe you shouldn't do any of that! :o

Just pull it up a bit, then gently twist out the connector arm and the part we need to get at is ah' starin' ya in the eye!

I just use my pocket knife to pop out the old trigger release and then pop the Ghost one right back in

Reconnect the parts and slide the group home then insert the pin. Top it off with a healthy dose of slide and barrel and you have a sweet shootin' Glock

That's a mag-Pul G-17 magazine sticking out of the bottom there. I like the extra couple rounds.
Next I added in an extended slide release to both pistols. It's so simple, even a pilot can do it!
Punch out the upper pin part way, remove the old slide lock, then insert the new one and push the pin back in...all done!

Nice Don. Take a look at the Ghost Rocket. It has a tab that controls over travel and reset
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Nice job.  We added the extended slide release and also the extended mag release to both of our g17's.  I know not everyone likes the longer mag release but we really like them.

The Gen 4 guns already have a much larger and improved mag release. You don't need to replace it on the newer Glock IMHO

Though some people like to remove some of the plastic from around it so your thumb sits tighter against it. Easier push and whatnot I suppose.
So, Bobby...being the calculating trained warrior NCO that you are.  Take the appropriate action, Execute!
your standard grunt level CQB is just putting rounds and rounds on scary stuff till it stops scaring you!
