Drove about 11 hours heading home from AZ. Should be home tomorrow evening if things go right. Everything is nice and green once you get out of the desert.

Nursed a very crooked and sore spine!

Got stuck watching Lifetime (The male suicide channel) with the wife while laying flat in the bed...

It was awful!

(Not the pain, mind you, but those awful chick movies...painful...)

Get well Don, a man can only take so much of that Lifetime stuff.

I spent yesterday mowing/shredding road ditches around all our property with a short break to plink at a old log with the new AR build. (4 20 rd mags, I think I got the bolt issue resolved)

Yeah, the wife loves that and the "housewives" series. Sore or not, I have to leave the room. Right now most of my "quality" TV time is in the livingroom anyway in my pops old lounger.

Man, some shooting sounds awful good right now.

Double ouch on Lifetime. Dang!

I had a PS leak on the Yukon. Wasn't looking forward to that with the tight engine compartment (can only see the fill tube from the top). From the bottom can't see anything with the skid plates, cross members etc. So who really knows where the leak is. But it had to get done. In my "search" I see something wet behind the grille....hmmm....whatsat? Ha! Score...the leak is from the PS cooler behind the grille. Get that out easily (well except for the 246 various attachments for plastic parts for the grille, on top of the radiator, lights, etc etc. Ha). Get a replacement at local auto parts store (for $14 instead of factory one at $110 online that would be in in a few days- need the car tomorrow). While I'm at it have them teat the alternator- it's good but battery had a bad cell- new battery. Throw on a new serpentine belt I had for emergency. Button it up and good to go. No leaks, everything great. So glad! Good day!

Got 30 lbs of taters blanched and in the freezer. I only have 60 or 70 lbs left in the back room. They have started growing. I gotta get creative and do something with them fast.

Let's see: finished a drip irrigation system for the flower beds at the weekend place. Laid 37 bags of mulch. Cleaned the shop since the LB7 is finished, leveled the firewood rack, cut up the last oak tree to get ready to split , planted a few pine seedlings, and then installed some permanent attachment points on my awning for strapping it down in gusty winds.

Little late but spent some time Saturday replacing the transmission lines on the Dmax.  A few days ago I applied undercoating to my truck while traveling down the road.

No. Beer is a primer. 3-4 beers while making a fire and then relax with a jack by the fire to finish

Sun night we went to Lincoln..spent the night cruising around in the Fifth Ave running errands, and then Kay hit her favorite city grocery for her fresh herbs and stuff that she needed for assorted potions and brews. Since we realized we managed to leave and no kids came along, we got a room for $34 and spent the night.

Monday morning we hit a few pawn shops, scored another metal detector we needed very reasonably priced, and resisted the urge to buy a cotton candy machine.

I spent Monday afternoon digging up old coins with the metal detector with the grand-kids, while grandma took a 25 mile bike ride.

It's suppose to be 78 today and beautiful, tomorrows forecast is blizzard conditions and snow.... so today we should do something constructive.

Yeah but thinking in Cummins terms...that's just a blip on the odometer. My wife and I once drove our crew cab on 40" rubber with a stroked big block from Wisconsin to Seattle in the winter on a whim. I think back and realize when we did that it had maybe 500 miles on that combination when we left. We stopped somewhere in "HOLY COLD" South Dakota and bought a pipe wrench and adjusted the toe, while sitting in a parking lot of the Ace Hardware LoL I had hit a couch earlier in the trip and tweaked the tie rod a bit.

Ah, the old road trip days. Haven't done real one in years.

I built 1/2 my garage using a HF framing nailer, still works great and it went through the fire.

Took XJ and drove to the local coffee shop to grab a cup of coffee since I was given the day off. Threw the fixings for chili in the crock pot, ate a bagel with brown sugar and honey sausage links with swiss and pepper jack cheese.

Half a day on my bumper then cleaned up and went to Ulta beauty for the wife.  Dozens of curling irons but have to search for that exact one she wants.   Same thing with hairspray.    Her working and me unemployed makes these types of trips fairly common.   Swung by harbor freight for a new welding hood and some flap discs.

Going to dinner tonight with friends for her birthday.   Have to figure out how to ease the pain of my arc burned face lol.  Being a red head I learned years ago to stay out of the sun.  Haven't had a burn like this since I was a kid lol.

Yesterday: I hit the hot tub at 4am..by 4:30 I was able to move well enough to start the day.
5:00am I kissed my wife goodbye as she left for work...
5:10am I looked at the snow outside and decided it wasn't a good day to plant grass seed.
5:15am I woke the kids up and declared it MORNING!!!

5:25ish I went out to start my pickup...some idiot left it outside in the snow. It protested and decided it wouldn't start. I fought back with the booster pack. By 5:30 I had a dead booster pack, still no running truck.
5:35 I put the pickup in gear, turned on the key, got into the skid loader and gave it a push down the driveway...it started, I stopped the skid steer, lept out, ran caught the truck and made a note to buy a new battery. This saved me from asking one of the girls to help, hate to interrupt the morning hair/face rituals after all.
6:05 I slid into the coffee establishment, ordered my morning glass of ice water and sat down to catch up on the daily news from the dozen or so men at the tables.

6:12 I was informed by a regula just arriving that my truck was leaking fuel up by the DS front. I informed him it was nothing, as soon as it gets good and warmed up it will stop.
6:25 I could take no more of the debate going on regarding politics..(ask me in November if I care, until then whats it matter?)
6:26 The puddle is only as big around as a coffee cup, almost fixed.

6:42 I arrived at the pasture and counted heads...close enough most seem to be there.
6:45 I am looking through my scope at one of my wife's horses dreaming...I didn't do it yet again.
7:10 I arrived at the farm office and checked my e mail, looked at some market predictions and in general screwed around.
7:40 Arguing with a hired hand about why you can NOT just dump antifreeze in my waste oil tank...that's why I have a tank labeled "coolant"

8:15-9:25ish was spent changing a inside dual out that decided to go flat on the front of one of the John Deer.
9:25-9:40 was spent shooting flys with the salt gun.

9:40ish to 10:00am I got the mail, discussed the weather and played frisbee with the farm pup.

10:30am I arrived home, got the mail there and declared I had enough of "work" for one day. I sat down, read Don's book cover to cover, and thoroughly enjoyed that.

1:15pm I took a small nap, woke up refreshed and ready to do something productive.
1:25pm -3:00pm was spent finding a used battery/replacing the battery in my truck. I also changed to "spring oil" and greased it just to show I care.
3:00pm-3:15pm I spent welding a bolt to the bed side so my tailgate doesn't fall off again and get more road rash. Or worse yet, get lost.

3:20 pm my wife arrives home amidst a cloud of snow and dust and she starts asking how my day was.
3:25pm she figures out I accomplished nothing but loves me anyway.

3:25-4:40pm my wife goes on a bike ride, I ride alongside her in the golf cart and we discuss life/bills/kids/grandkids/her yoga pants.

4:40pm time to hit the shower and call it a day I figure but Nooooooooooo....we have to whip up supper and feed the teenagers who are now home because somehow they all got the same day off work. (odd)

6:00pm we are now at my Moms.
6:40pm we finish arguing with her about how she is NOT having Easter dinner unless she promises to allow my wife to make the ham. Mom recently injured her hip and at 75 yrs old she could just NOT run around so much. (we caught her riding her bike downtown)

6:55pm it's almost dark but we have time to shoot some so my wife bangs steel out in the pasture while I keep an eye out for Yotes..

8:10pm We arrive back home, the kids are watching TV, we hit the claw foot tub and soaked.

9:00-10:45pm I build tree's for the model railroad while listening to my wife wail some great tunes on her sax.

.......................

4:00am this morning..sitting in the hot tub I declared it's Friday... Good Friday in fact. So No work...it' a holiday.

Yesterday:  Listened to one party of a couple who are both teachers in my school, inquire as to why their Tax refund was 1/2 what it was last year.......I played dumb.......upon said individul leaving I surmised the following and then acquired confirmation that my suppositions were correct.

Both spouse and inquirer are at the highest lane of our pay scale-
One just changed into that lane this year, which is a sizable increase-
Base increase in pay as negotiated by team headed by your humble reporter is 2% this year-
Additionally, experience credit for one of them already in high lane is 1.75% more-
Both coach for additional pay, so that went up too; combined increase for couple near 6%-
Delicious irony:  This pair of millenials, liberal Bernie supporters are now IN THE 1% they despise!-
The Unaffordable Care Act & shift to "The Rich People" tax bracket has come to roost in their wallets-

THE ONE IS A MATH TEACHER AND CANNOT FIGURE THIS OUT!  I told them they might want to change how they vote if they didn't like their new reality!

6:45 I am looking through my scope at one of my wife's horses dreaming...I didn't do it yet again.

This one made me LOL !

7:40 Arguing with a hired hand about why you can NOT just dump antifreeze in my waste oil tank...that's why I have a tank labeled "coolant"

This one hits home. It's funny how the help is always smarter than the boss.

3:25-4:40pm ....we discuss ...her yoga pants.

..a daily routine in my house with 2-5 females.

9:00-10:45pm I build tree's for the model railroad while listening to my wife wail some great tunes on her sax.

Cool ! Which one? I played Alto in HS.

4:00am this morning..sitting in the hot tub I declared it's Friday... Good Friday in fact. So No work...it' a holiday.

At 20:00 yesterdy, I realized my hot tub has yet another leak...after pealing off 2 garbage bags of spray foam insulation, I believe it's on the very bottom. :(

Mike, maybe it's just me, but it seems as though some of the most intelligent people I know, also happen to be the most ignorant. Must be the liberal teachings at college level !?!
