I'm with JR,CJ,and The DDS. I would really miss this site and do check it at least once a day if i have internet.  I don't use instagram but do check fakebook occasionally.   I think Don needs to start another Oil Change , thats when the site gets busy.

My Company has ordered me a new truck in Sept.  I worked with our fleet guy and was able to get them to order the 7.3 with a 400 amp alt and dual batteries.    The key word being it was ordered in Sept.    Last word was a confirmation that it was ordered.   Still have no delivery date.
I am  kinda stoked to see how it will do with the seafood box on the back. The current truck with the 6.7 gets 11-13 mpg.

Looking good Big D    talk to your county extension agent, some counties  have a loaner pasture seeder that you could use to put down something for next year. Agree Rye will hold you over till the spring.

What happened to the solar well pump idea?      Not giving you a hard time, but i wanted to see what you were going to use as i might be needing something like that.   Thoughts or ideas?

Big D- what would happen if a grinder took off 1/4" on each side of each cyl.  mounting ears?      Both upper and lower ears.    You have nothing to lose right? or maybe reweld a new cyl mount on the boom. 20k would buy a lot of weld repairs.

Dave
take the torch body to the local welding supply and they probably have a cutting head for that in stock   You can also get a rosebud tip which is great for heating up siezed bolts.   Tell them the thickness of steel you are going to cut and they will size you up with the correct tip.    ask about gas and oxy settigs for your regulators which will be different based on tip and thickness of steel.

How much do these weigh?   If you short hook a chain won't your skid pick up one end and you can drag it to where you need to go?  Or use the 3pt on the tractor to pick up one end and drag it that way.

Sounds like a no brainer. All of the incidental parts for a swap are there, plus you can sell what remains and recoup some of that.

I bought the Benjamin Marauder in .22 Last year from sportsman Guide ( four payment plan is awesome),  Then bought a 4500 PSI compressor from amazon  and just put everything together last week.   The Marauder is quieter than my China single cock pellet rifle by far. One charge to 3000 psi and I can shoot about 30 shots. Haven't shot any squirrels yet but im waiting.

Bikes Motorcycles, S x S's, Tractors, and Mowers / Re: AV Gas
« on: October 24, 2020, 11:29:08 PM »
For the saws and weedeaters i use 1 gal ($8) race gas. 1 gal premium, and stabil.   I've used straight race gas in a two stroke bike but i think it needed to be rejetted as the power was off.   If you use premium the life expectancy (volatility) is more than double that of 87 octane. (as i have been told).    How much fuel are you using? and how long is it sitting between uses?   Haven't used AV gas,  but maybe a 50/50 mixture with Stabil and premium would be the ticket?

What are you building? / Re: The Other Dave’s house

Based on my limited math skills, 302 sq ft x (rounded up) 6” or .5 in this case = 151 cubic ft = roughly 6 yards of concrete.  27 -80lb bags of quick crete  = 1 yard of concrete. (Bag says 1/3 cubic ft). 500 bucks for model #42867 mixer at northern tool.  Will  mix 3 bags at a time @4.75 per bag.  About 135-140 per yard.  But you can do it on your schedule vs the concrete companies schedule
I have mixed about 2000 bags into a 3 yr retaining wall project.  42 bags to a pallet.   It’s a lot of work but by myself I could mix a pallet in 75 minutes, by dumping it in a wheelbarrow and pushing to the area needed
Tex, check my math hoping I’m in the ballpark...     again my schedule vs the concrete company schedule was the deciding factor... I’ve used my mixer for at least 15 yrs on all kinds of projects.

You shouldn’t have any problems moving that
A chain on each corner and pick up the end with the loader and drag it backwards.
You may have a ways to back up but it should work easily

Dually's fine not driving much  working in NC   I was talking to a guy at a local sawmill and he told me that in the winter the trees have less sap and when they dry they are less prone to crack.   I don't know how that will work for Texas oaks, but i was just wondering. Keep us updated on how that works.
