Heat transfer according to google.

Why are we trying to transfer heat on the porch? Should we not be blocking or deflecting ?

It will limit the parks we can go to but it will be safer over all. The duramax is fine around here on flat land. But it didn't like the hills in Kentucky. Id hate to see how it handled the rocky mountains. We want to go west sometime.
How big is your trailer?  The roads here steep but your truck won?t have a problem for going up, coming down is a little more fun.   Just take it easy and you?ll be find

Went and walked the lot we put an offer in on, the daylight makes it look a good bit smaller than it looks on paper, now for the financing junk to be completed.

Met with the cabinet guy and I am super happy with his build process and quality of work he puts out.

His thumb? That is just normal when working. Well, maybe a tad more.

Picked up new upper ball joints for the Dmax today. Got the better ones vs the moogs that seem to wear out in 2 years or so. Got new therms too. Can't find the others right now and need some heat in the cab.
Pick up a winter grill cover , they keep the heat in

Insulation under the basement concrete floor?
I feel like I have seen this done before, dig foundation hole, underlay pipe, backfill gravel, lay down blue insulation, pour concrete on top of..... am I up in the night?
Is this of value?

Rants are required from time to time as long as your people being ranted to understand rant not complaint.

From a manufacturing standpoint it can be hard to get perfect people to hire, but you definitely know when you hired a Ace vs a good employee vs the later. I am all for teaching people, trying to help everyone improve. I would rather have some help than non I guess

Good luck in your meetings today !

Tex not at your same level of course but the small team I have been imparted to Teach my Jedi ways is who I lead
Today I had to provide some simple advise.
Me: you can?t measure .001- .002 while holding the two parts together in your hand.  You need to secure it with hardware than measure.
Them: I have done this before and it?s not a problem.
Me: I am not here to tell you about your past experience I am telling you about the future. In order to get the correct measurements you need to use hardware like your instructions tell you and you are to follow.
Them: well it?s never been a problem.
Me: I has been a problem and will be a further problem, when you freeze aluminum to -50c things will restrict enough that it will not move unless you have proper spacing.

At which point my political correct tank is about empty, I shock my head and walked away.

At their desk five min later
Me: on sheet .... it says you are to use hardware please do as instructed.
Them: well, we have a meeting and we can argue about it later
Them: I am not here to argue I am here to tell you how it will happen. Six years of experience and management tell me this is my role. Not chosen by me. But instructed to do so. If you don?t listen you won?t learn and you will fail.

I walked away to my manger who called a meeting and now we as leadership get to read a book about managing millennials

Any books you have come across?

If we are looking to recruit good folks me being a billboard might be a not so good idea. But like Tate said. Something more formal than informal, a cut copy link we could send someone that pulls them to the site to read and give brief expo hiding the knuckle heads from site (sorta sweep them under a rug) so they can join.    Maybe we can convert to a less D.O.T. « on: January 18, 2018, 08:29:54 AM »
Trying to think what applications one might have, I use the to measure breaking points or at what point a motor, seal and gear set will start to rotate, usually if they exceed a certain number the part fails our inspection.  The higher the torque required to turn something the more stress added to the drive motor....... I guess you could math out the amount of torque required to turn a crank shaft on a motor and determine if your shimming job is to tight, or the pistons/ring gap is to much.  But that?s a lot of math ain?t nobody wants to do.

TRN, That looks like MN is September.

Oh yeah!  Been there done that.  Had a presentation in the home office one day in September about 10 years ago.  Forgot my coat in the car at the airport and had summer weight slacks and a short sleeve shirt.  It was 9 degrees and snowing like mad.  I wasn't going to let the locals think I was panicked.  I slowly strolled from the car to the building across the parking lot as everyone else in parkas ran....
Tex you had better get out the snow chains and the cold windshield fluid

It?s generally cheaper to build out a basement than it is to finish an up stairs sq footage,

Basement is about $30 a sq and a upstairs is about $90 sq   The water table is pushing the house further out of the ground which puts stairs in the garage, front porch,   Looking at about 40 inches only underground in most of the area which is about 6-8 stairs which makes that rambler not really a rambler

The one with an amazing view is the one your referring to JR,  while I liked the view, the drive up that Mt to get to it.  It was a pretty steep grade that I or the wife lost interest in.

This lot is a little more flat and more farm type land.  There is a large pond in the back yard. It looks like the developer has back filled in the road and area over the pond and some neighbor conversations tell me that the pond usually flexes up and down a good amount.

I do t want to get caught by some dumb developer who cut a corner and have water problems for ever.
