Back to wiring, I finished the fuse/switching panel

The wire from the main battery will attach to the open terminal on the solenoid, then a wire will connect to the bus end of the fuses and attach to the second battery

I know you’re fond of wood tables for welding and all but am I the only one raising an eye brow at this wooden rubber covered mount? I realize it’s a long shot but it something shorts out and that gets hot you don’t think a fire with extra kindling might be a concern?

Might wanna shoot it first Dave. He might have had a good reason to move it.

Thinking the good reason was his shooting style or handicap.

Speaking of which Ken isn’t that what they do when they turn em sideways gansta to shoot?

I guess I could put this in the morning cimr but it’s prayer oriented.

I am sure thankful this morning to be up, to be able to work and provide for my family and enough to help a little for another.  Thankful for this beautiful view, non like any I have ever seen before anywhere.
Glad my kids are healthy and smart and growing.
Thank you folks for friendship.  Thank you lord for yet another day.

Dave that was a great post.

Just for the record (and I’m probably going to a bad place for this) I noticed that view included a truck. It appears to be a Ford, that’s all I’m going to say...

Own a 1911 to show your friends

Carry a glock to show your enemies.

Shawn glocks are simple. No need for a course. You can figure it out easily.

I have a couple of books that cover everything. With pictures for those of us who can’t read.

Charles, I understand and have gone through all of the ones I own aside from my G35

Thought it might be a good idea to learn something from a course rather than a book for once too. I’m also considering several 43’s in 80 to complete for girls.

Firearms / Re: Glock 22 in 40 cal.

It started with the Model 17. The 17th patent for Gaston Glock

There is usually a sub compact, compact and full size versions. Some are available in long slide tactical versions like the 34

26,19,17,34 are 9mm double stack mag
27,23,22 are .40 double stack. (You can swap barrels and mags and shoot 9mm)
36,30,21 are .45
20 is 10mm ( can swap 45 mag and barrel and shoot 45 too)

That’s off the top of my head. There are a few more like the newer 42 and 43 being 380 and single stack 9mm

Most of the parts were interchangeable before the later generations.  One more reason I have all genIII stuff.

Dave, its the model number. Which dictates caliber and size (round capacity and barrel length, newer models may also dictate single stack magazine over double stack).

I was 36 when I bought our first second home.  Lake house, boat, sea doo, etc.  Then kids came along and it was just too much to keep up with with small kids.  Held our powder until I was 46 and we bought the second second home when the kids were 10 and 8.

Most people buy a second home and then 5 years later don’t use it as much and wind up selling it. Wait until you have the chance to buy exactly what you want.  Do it once.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Copy, as Don stated in another post it’s nice to pee of the back deck and shoot at things. I can’t do that in our new home addition (legally anyhow). At the shop we can as it’s a gun friendly zone but I don’t advertise around there (for the record Ken I’m talking about firearms). So as much as I like and enjoy minimal upkeep at these two places which allow me to focus my time on other ventures. I do plan on ending up somewhere a little off the beaten path a bit in the end. I also would like a place I can take grand kids to some day and teach finer points of things like dirt bikes, cutting wood and shooting things.

Don, put the foundation in this year. Next year frame it and get it enclosed. Third year complete it.....

Do the majority yourself and sub out what you don’t want to do. Maybe take a couple years to finish inside, what does it matter?

I was in my 50's when I purchased place numba deux. Paid cash for it.

I think that makes a difference. Probably don't want to hold a mortgage on your second/go-to/retirement property. The place in the burbs...Mortgage the heck out of it, but the farm, I'd think it best if you can pay most or all of the money out of the chock blocks

Copy guys, yeah this will be a cash deal when it happens. I only plan on having one mortgage. The shop was kinda an unexpected purchase really. I mean it wasn’t totally unexpected but it depleted a lot of reserves for us. So that’s where I am thinking another 5 years to recoup before another large purchase again. Plus I have three kids off to college within next 5 so we’ll see how that goes too.

Looks good Charles  :likebutton:

So all of you with second “places” wondering what the average age here in which you purchased them? I’m thinking of acquiring at the minimum the ground in the next five years somewhere off the beaten track. That would put me at barely still middle 40’s but depending I could be 50 before it happened too just a lot depends on how the next several years play out.

Never had rounded corners in a house so we’ll see. Yeah cabinets are soft close doors and drawers, never had those before either....

Wife and I had master walk in closet shelving left out and moms walk-in closet as well left bare. We stopped by container store today with measurements and they gave us a quote for both closet systems. About what I expected but does anyone else have a great experience with a closet system they can recommend? We had them quote Elfa, I will be doing the install.

Wife needs adequate shoe storage and trying to best utilize the space.

Just a bin on the side of the frame. Looks like I have about 18in to the frame.

I am also thinking of attaching a 6k winch I have sitting here. Think that will come in handy time to time, but I want a bolt on mount. Trailer has a built in 12v charger and a little solar unit. The tilt has 2 rams and locks down.

The tongue box has the hydo system and a Costco soap bucket fits in there great. So it holds a few straps and bungee's. Now I need a place for the chains, binders and blocks.

JR, I never kept the expensive chains and binders on the trailer unless I was planning on using them. They hang on a piece of alum flat stock in my shop always and away from the front door so they don’t grow legs....

Straps and bungees are cheap along with a bottle jack that I keep in the box on the tongue. If they get stolen not a huge loss.

They just passed it in Utah,   From a bike point I see the value at stop lights and so forth or maybe in stopped traffic but not while flowing traffic.

Imagine if he had his head up just a little bit and hit JR’s tow mirror.  Knock you right the hell off the bike or kill ya.   Then you have a flying bike with no rider.

https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/more-restaurants-embrace-trend-of-putting-healthcare-surcharges-on-diners-checks

Nate, quite a few places here that we frequent (many of the diners drive in and dives btw) automatically add 18% gratuity. They call it a living wage as the employers give these servers real wages and healthcare. To my knowledge it is always explained up front. In my opinion I get a 2% discount as I normally tip good service at 20% anyhow. If I didn’t get good service it would bother me but as of yet knock on wood the service has been top notch at these places.
