Smart move Charles to have the sheetrock done by others. Sure looks good,  a lot of work but it shows.

1052

One, plus the daughters right...And I am not trying to rebuild a business at the moment.

1053
Man, you talk about a money pit. I will leave the jeep stock, at least for now.

1054
WELL, yes...Only use the jeep for hunting, river sled only used for short time in winter, bay boat hasn't been in the water for a couple years or more. And the newest one isn't home yet.... Yes guilty but......

1055
Oh boy, well I put a deposit down a boat last week. My wife loves the water but gets cold way to easy so trying a closed cabin this time. Hope this one fits the bill as enough is enough. Now need to sell the two I have and hope for the best. No pic cause I don't have it yet, hope it isn't the big hole you guys talk about all the time. Just want to cruise around and maybe fish a bit and keep the wife happy, so don't rub it in too much ok. I will post a photo or two once I get it home.

The right long term care insurance is a good option if done soon enough. We are doing a hybrid life insurance policy on my wife, if she doesn't need it, it goes to our estate, if she does she is covered quite nicely. Me well, fake a fall and get it over with. Good luck with it JR, I am sure you will make the right choice and I am sorry you are going through this..

1057
Sounds like all is good then, enjoy.....

JR, bring her home, get caregiver status and get paid for taking care of her. Maybe not the best answer, but is an option. Heck you just built a bedroom you could move into and give mom the master, right.....

1059

JR, a good spare is good to have regardless. Maybe not as good as the damaged one you need to replace out on a trip, but still will get you by for the weekend or whatever.
I hope you didn't over do it, being 3/4" larger and 4 blades and 2" more pitch. You might not get to the high end rpm with it and getting up on plane with many people might be a challenge. Then again it might just be the perfect set up, get it out on the water and check it out. Bolting on a fin isn't the best choice but they sure provide a quicker get up on plane if needed. I put a set of auto adjusting trim tabs on mine years ago, and they really helped.

1060
No offence taken, from where I am sitting anyway, Don just took care of it and all is good. Here we believe "God is great, beer is good and people are crazy". Great bunch of people, great amount of knowledge, and all are willing to help.

It only comes after the yard Jr

Throw some water on the dirt after you clean up the construction mess, wait a few weeks, break out the mower and you have a yard. Best get the lift ordered up.

Shawn, that is right alongside the kneeling or fist in the air crap going on. It might be enshrined but it ain't right

1064
JR, stick a coffee can in next to the helm, throw in a couple 20's every time out. I used to keep a bunch of ones and fives in the truck for ramp fees and did keep a slush fund for boat costs too. Sure helps when parts are needed. Now I just pay to keep the propane tank full to keep the garage nice and warm so the boat doesn't complain too much.

Should have bought a boat, then Nate could say he told you so.

Did you buy that from a rental place auction?

1066
Sorry that happened especially since you were out there working and all. Should of had one of the kids doing it for you, while you watched with a beer in your hand. :beercheers:

Not uncommon for attachments to find new homes. Hope the rest turns out good for you.

1068
And I thought those required pickets around a deck over 3 ft tall were to keep kids safe.

1069
Those fins do help with lift but watch the mounting area for cracks as there is a lot of pressure put on places that are not built for it. As for the trim, if the outdrive is up at all it really affects the lift needed to get out of the water. If you and Tate are running the same gear and boat he might be able to help with the prop choice.

1070
JR, another thing to check is to be sure the lower unit is in lowest trim position while starting off with a skier or lots of weight inside the boat. My boat needs to have the trim clear down when starting then moving it up while running gives more speed. All about boat angle, in fact I added trim tabs which really helped when boat is full of people and crab or shrimp gear.

1071

JR, my Volvo is a 4 cyl. Volvo car motor with a 290 Volvo Penta outdrive behind it. The boat is 1989 model Sun Runner. Spends most of its life in a warm garage since fish and wildlife screwed up the fishing, and I don't have get up and go enough to fight the ramp traffic.
The metal boat is 21 ft Thunder Jet off shore with a 200 outboard and a 10 trolling motor. Hard top with Alaskan bulkhead instead of drop curtain and 8.6 wide. hopefully if we get it I can put it on the trailer at the ramp without holding up too many people.

Good luck with the prop search, tough at best. SS about as large a diameter as you can get in there and work with pitch for max rpm at max throttle. Lots of charts out there, have to find a prop shop that will work with you. I have I think a 13x17 on my glass boat and it will creep past rpm max, but good out of the hole and water sports.  Also have a 14x21 takes  longer  time to get on step but does get a few more mph. You Merc set up is most likely different and I do not have much experience with them.
                                                                  edit for prop sizes

1072

Darn you JR, I started looking too. Found a nice aluminum bay boat, just need to figure out how to pay for it.
Tate if you know of anyone looking for a nice older glass19ft cuddy with Volvo 151set up, mine just might be for sale soon.

Good pair of ear muffs are your ears best friend. I wear hearing aids, shooting without muffs most likely the cause. Even with the aids I have a hard time hearing and the ringing never stops.

That is true Don if the pond is deep enough and the fish stay out of the top water. My pond area is a composite stock trough maybe 2.5ft deep and the heron stood at the top and picked off the fish when they came toward the surface.

All those rocks along the top of the pond will give the heron and other fish eating birds a place to stand. I tried fish in our small waterfall pond and the birds kept the fish sellers in business. I managed to relocate a couple heron but the neighbor and sheriff decided I wouldn't be shooting any more of them.

I was really surprised that our new place up there hit *102 last week. That's pretty hot for the panhandle area me thinks, especially when it was in the upper *90s here.

Yes it was hot up there Ken. Spent 3 days in the area last week. That is some very nice country for sure and that new mini will surely help the looks of your new place.

here is a picture not to scale of what I was trying to propose/recommend

I would agree with the concept, however before you start developing a small camping site, you do need to think about pull through or back in sites. Pull throughs don't need as much road width or free movement area to get into or out of. 30 Amp sites wouldn't cost nearly as much to run power but the bigger campers would suffer in the summer as you can't run both air conditioners on 30 amps. 30 AMP needs hot, neutral, and ground where as 50 AMP needs two hot, a neutral, and a ground. 50 AMP is two 50amp circuits where 30 amp is only one30 amp so wire size would be larger with the 50's. Site size needs to be large enough to open slides on both sides of the camper and long enough to accept larger trailers/5th wheels. The road  into out of doesn't need to be level but the pads should be close to level side to side and not too far off end to end. With back in sites you would only need one road but the rigs need room to move into out of the sites. More angle means less room needed to back into the site. Younger guys there for training could get by with a tent and an outhouse, older guys like me and a few others would need the full meal deal if longer than a couple days.

So my question is........why are you trying to kill yourself when you can rent stuff like this?!?!?!?!

https://www.sunbeltrentals.com/equipment/detail/1225/0440098/stair-climber-1500lb/

Why not just hire the safe sales place to move it for you, less to worry about and they know what they can  and  can not do?

good luck man, I know my new safe (National Safe ) was all two guys could handle from the truck through the garage into the wreck room. After all was said and done, it looks nice either from the room or outside looking in. If it is druggy, they want it now, so will move along to the neighbor hopefullyr, if not, well they would find it anyway.

I think you need to look closely at the bank rupture route. That is only if you both are committed to  changing your ways about credit... :beercheers: . Don't mean to be critical, but with a positive outlook, it could be a lifesaver.

Charles, that is exactly why were at the vets today. As long as she is not suffering I don't think I could put her down. At this point I can still afford the meds and vet bill so until things change she will be with us. Subjects like this do turn into a deep hole for sure and I for one will not go there.

Living on a half acre lot which has only a very few trees a mill is not in my plans. There are mills around that can be brought in to saw some stuff if needed or wanted.

Sorry Shawn but I am with Dave on this one. My wife and I are watching our little dog of 13 years suffer with leaking heart valve and water on the lungs from it. Just today was back at the vet getting an updated meds intake for her. Tears me up, a friend sent this to us today.

Pulled the Trailer up to our Canal lot for a few days. Heading back from Hoodsport to the lot, crossing a very narrow bridge, an oncoming Dodge pu got too close to or over the centerline and took out my outside mirror with his mirror. 700 dollars for new mirror,  and some lost blood from fighting with the door panel, all is good again. I wish those Dodge guys would pull in the mirrors when they weren't towing.

Well, not so quick there Tonto!

I'd take a run at it with the rubber track loader and it would move as far as I wanted!

But that contraption Tex is talkin' about sounds like it would work, but we'd need a vid just in case it didn't! ;-))

Now that is what I am talking about. Two rubber tracks laying in the woods and Don scratching his head wondering what went wrong.

I sure would like to see the action, don't think one truck will move it unless it is tied to a tree with a wrecker between the truck and the load. BUT I am from Washington so just need to see it on video to believe it.
