Are the trailer brakes set up properly, and  are working as they should. Is the controller one of the newer ones, Prodigy name comes to mind, the newer ones work much better. Hopefully once you get the truck brakes adjusted and the trailer brakes working right you should be in good shape.

Having spent my working life working on the roads, I held a herbicide license and went to training every year from 1969 to 2004. Yes Charles, there are products that can leach or run off into the pond and cause a fish kill but round-up is not one of them as long as you stay within the labeled rates and apply when it is not raining for a couple hours, and not spraying onto the water. That product also has a money target on it's back, lots of talk but no proof  that it is a problem for either human or environment. As for the ant killer, you got to do what you got to do to control the little bastards. Homework and carful application should keep you safe from them.

As far as far as % active you buy, you are paying for inert ingredients(water) when you buy the lower active content. When you spray the product out, the % of active is the same as the farmer uses if you are both following the listed mixing rates on the label. Lots of products out there, some tie up near the surface of the soil, others move down quite far and damage trees that have roots in the sprayed area.
*The active ingredient in Round-up is/was also labeled for aquatic use. They took out some of the inactive stuff and allowed use to plants growing above the water level, or used in wetlands.*

Dave, did the foundation move or just the flat work crack? I would think, being the water table is so high you do need to get the cracks sealed up good or fight water on the floors forever. If there is a structural problem, hope the contractors have bonding and insurance covering their work. Like Charles said, it doesn't matter if the lead contractor is your boss or the subs are friends, the work needs to be up to par. Sorry you are kind of between the rock and the hard place, hope it all works out.

there is a small burner (like on your stove) at the bottom which give it the heat and also is used to make the smoke.  there is a little tray above the burner that you put the wood chips on.

I think the most they will get to is 275deg, anything above that is a miracle.

they work great for jerkey, summer sausage, pork butts for pulled pork.

They also do a nice job on fish

When he was around 4 years old our son had more than plenty ear infections, one right after the other. Finally the dr. put him on a low dose  of penicillin for extended time like 30 days. Ear infections not so much any more, but to this day if he gets water in the ears he has problems. Hope the tubes help, kids in pain are no fun.

Well it looks like the NFL is coming around. Too bad it is soo late, don't know that I will be watching again this year.

It was for sure my lucky day. Phone rang, I answered it and the guy introduced himself as an attorney and that I had won the sweepstakes. Man, I was so happy, then he said it was a drawing from my credit card and a purchase from Walmart on Dec. 22 2018. Won 175,000 and a new BMW. Problem I had was I wasn't close to my local Walmart on the date he said, I was on a ship coming into Florida. All was good right up to the point I needed to wire 350.00 to New York for registration fees. Well 4 calls later I told him it was being tapped and the Attorney General was getting set up. No more calls, so I guess I didn't win after all.

This morning my wife gets a call that my credit card is being used for 16 accounts on iTunes. I don't even have one account there. So no credit card to use while I wait for the new card to show up. One minute a new car, a bunch of money, 16 itune accounts to use, now I don't even have a card to use to fill my truck with fuel. Sure glad the bank watches the charges on my
 card.

Me thinks most of the problem would be the 60-70 hours per week. That crap really tugs on the family life as well as vehicle maintenance. I just don't drive them all much then it is only a twice a year maintenance issue. Just let the dealer service the two we use most.

Well JR I have 7 vehicles, two boats, a pull trailer RV, and a dump trailer. 3 kind of red colored, Running out of parking area. I guess that puts you in at least 3rd place right now.

Nope, nothin exclusive at all. Just the Colorado river and Lake Mohave, with lake Havasu just down river. The area really draws the people in since it isn't too far from L.A. and Laughlin NV is just across the river.

Interesting, our place in AZ has an oversized garage because the builders thought everyone owned a boat. I was looking at pontoon boats last year but it would not have fit while on the trailer. My wife solved that problem " easier to fish from the beach than have a boat that is too high for the door opening.

Maybe a sissy but it would most likely been one of the last things he did while working for that company....Place looks nice Tate. Since you like to mow grass, we are only a short drive and a long ferry ride away and have a couple mowers ready to go.

And just why would you do that? Why not at best charge what it cost you over the original plan, Is it a change order that makes the difference in how much you charge the homeowner?

1174
Well, my son has a 2001 Dodge PU that needs a front end and a clutch bad. Clutch should be here shortly and the front end parts are on order. Sorry but I do not agree on stuff not lasting like they use to do. Maybe I trade off to often to change my mind but these things last a very long time with proper maintenance.

JR, you have to let some one know about them just in case you tip over in the night. When I had to face my health issues, I woke up and let someone know the safe combo and my hiding places. The thought of family not getting my stuff made me change my mind of keeping secret places. Yes someone could get the safe open if needed but then the repair bill would suck.

"I have my entire lawn around the house, make it about 1.0-1.5 acres on a 9 zone water sprinkler system.
You will have problems
Every year, possibility of freeze damage.
My pump has broken several times
The electronics buried in the lawn at various points fails regularly
I mow over and crush heads like all the time
Over a winter, some heads will no longer work or (and this is weird) come up crooked!
I winterize it with air pressure, making sure to blow vegetable oil and WD-40 throughout the system in the fall. Last two years I stopped using it. I guess I really don't care about the nice suburban lawn any more. I'll let the 40 somethings compete all they want. My goal is to park a junk car on my front or side lawn just to mess with them this summer '-))"

1. Freeze damage possible but if blown out properly should not happen and not sure you need to have oil blown into the lines
2.Set the system up with water manifolds for the valves in a shrub bed and run wire loom for the valves laid under the main water line for protection.
3.Driving over heads and hitting them with the mower, or shoving them down on one side so they come up crooked, and broken water pump ....Just some more Don things...

Right now I'm just using a couple hoses and tripods.  It's working fine and really makes the investment in a system seem silly.  We'll see if my resolve holds when the heat starts.

At some point you will get tired of moving hoses, forgetting to turn off the water, or change sprinkler locations.

Try the truck plug-in with another trailer to be sure what you are trying to fix. Like Ken, I would be checking the truck plug-in for corrosion or bad wiring.

Adding that option almost makes up the cost difference between gas and diesel. And boy howdy the repair cost will go up after adding the extra power to the gas engine.

Dave, I had 3 or 4 trips back to the dealer with DEF issue problems. Poor quality warning mostly. The dealer stayed on the problems and solved the issue with sensor replacement. NOX sensors as I remember, but am betting Ken knows which ones are the problem. My  concern was having the thing go into limp mode because the computer thought the def was bad. Never did go into limp and I enjoyed the truck towing or not. On my 2016 the main computer had to be replaced with only a couple thousand miles on it. That could have happened with either gas or diesel. No issues at all since then.

General Vehicle Related Discussion / Re: New truck options
« on: April 01, 2018, 02:08:19 PM »
I do not constantly tow more than 10,000 lbs  and have to disagree with you guys. I had the 6.0 GM gas in 3 pickups and had to replace exhaust manifolds and other system parts because the heat from towing destroyed them. I got very tired of listening to the engine trying to destroy its self going uphill. Plenty of power but if you had to slow down for any reason it was very hard to get the rpm back up. Gas mileage sucked towing anything, heavy or not. Other than the problems with the DEF system on my 2011, the diesel has been very reliable and maintenance does not seam any more expensive or time consuming. I keep the engine as it came from the factory, and have the maintenance done as recommended. I think the bigger issue is cost to get into the diesel to start with. Take out a longer loan or pay more each month. If you can afford a diesel and tow at all, it is a better choice. Just have to be a bit careful where the front tires go as the diesel is heavier and you can  get stuck more easily.

Charles, what did you go with for a pool water heater? We used solar water heaters on the roof to help with the community pool heater. Poor installation or winterizing  resulted in freeze damage so we now only use the propane heater. The solar didn't work all that well up North with the trees and so many cloudy days, but they did help.
