Fortunately for both me and her.  She has two dads laying in wait for the little Peter better boys.  The twins man oh man the cry boxes are getting louder and louder.  Poopy diapers are more regular and boy I don't like this at all.  I need to dig out my 3m respirator.

I spent many of months on a mission for my faith trying just that Tex.  Arguing fighting belittling people.    I left me feeling empty and mean hearted.   I would say that it left me changed in a much better way to finish what I was doing with a prayerful faithful heart.   I won't argue or even boarder line debate.   Tension is never apart of Christi way of teaching.

Now  now now.  I know we all read things with different tones and what not.  Let's keep religious freedoms intact and be proud that we can believe in Christ.  Deal?   As Matthew 5:37 says     Yea yea

Today's morning reading.

Might I say. Being a stay at home father has allowed me to read a bit more work on some more personal/spiritual betterment

In ancient Greece, runners competed in a relay race called a lampadedromia. In the race, runners held a torch in their hand and passed it on to the next runner until the final member of the team crossed the finish line.

The prize wasn’t awarded to the team that ran fastest--it was awarded to the first team to reach the finish line with its torch still lit.

There is a profound lesson here, one taught by prophets ancient and modern: while it is important to start the race, it is even more important that we finish with our torch still lit.

Solomon Started Strong

The great King Solomon is an example of someone who started strong. When he was young, he “loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father” (1 Kings 3:3). God was pleased with him and said, “Ask what I shall give thee” (1 Kings 3:5).

Instead of asking for riches or a long life, Solomon asked for “an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad” (1 Kings 3:9).

This pleased the Lord so much that He blessed Solomon not only with wisdom but also with wealth beyond measure and a long life.

Though Solomon was indeed very wise and did many great things, he did not finish strong. Sadly, later in his life, “Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and went not fully after the Lord” (1 Kings 11:6).

Finishing Our Own Race

How many times have we started something and not finished? Diets? Exercise programs? Commitments to read the scriptures daily? Decisions to be better disciples of Jesus Christ?

How often do we make resolutions in January and pursue them with red-hot determination for a few days, a few weeks, or even a few months only to find that by October, the flame of our commitment is little more than cold ash?

One day I ran across a funny picture of a dog lying next to a piece of paper he had shredded. It read, “Certificate of Dog-Obedience Training.”

We are like that sometimes.

We have good intentions; we start strong; we want to be our best self. But in the end we leave our resolutions shredded, discarded, and forgotten.

It’s human nature to stumble, fail, and sometimes want to drop out of the race. But as disciples of Jesus Christ, we have committed not only to begin the race but also to finish it--and finish it with our torch still burning brightly. The Savior promised His disciples, “He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).

Let me paraphrase what the Savior has promised in our day: If we keep His commandments and finish with our torch still lit, we will have eternal life, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God (see D&C 14:7; see also 2 Nephi 31:20).

The Light That Never Dies

Sometimes after stumbling, failing, or even giving up, we get discouraged and believe our light has gone out and our race is lost. But I testify that the Light of Christ cannot be extinguished. It shines in the darkest night and will relight our hearts if only we incline our hearts to Him (see 1 Kings 8:58).

No matter how often or how far we fall, the Light of Christ ever burns brightly. And even in the deepest night, if we but step toward Him, His light will consume the shadows and reignite our souls.

This race of discipleship is not a sprint; it’s a marathon. And it makes little difference how fast we go. In fact, the only way we can lose the race is by finally giving in or giving up.

As long as we continue to rise up and move toward our Savior, we win the race with our torches burning brightly.

For the torch is not about us or about what we do.

It is about the Savior of the world.

And that is a Light that can never be dimmed. It is a Light that swallows the darkness, heals our wounds, and blazes even in the midst of the deepest sorrow and unfathomable darkness.

It is a Light that surpasses understanding.

May each of us finish the path we have begun. And with the help of our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, we will finish joyfully and with our torches still lit. I

I will start by saying I am a proud LDS Mormon,

Today I listened to a lesson on the lords forgiveness that took me back to a place of pure wow!

I have always felt that sin was a sin and you could be forgiven for said sin.  I always have been under the assumption that Christ paid for our sins and so on.   Leaving me knowing the savior was there for me.   But I struggle with letting my self forgive myself.  Me letting go of things that I have not done so perfectly.

It was taught today ( not saying I haven't heard it before but just today ) and it hit me.   When we sin and ask our savior for forgiveness he doesn't just heal our spiritual wound he doesn't restore it.  Christ says he will remember it no more!    It's as if he gives us a brand new me.   And blemish free fresh start.   Granted we have to try and keep it that way but.   Still.    It gave me a wonderful mood today.  Nothing could take me down from my spiritual high!!!

This weekend has been really good

My daughter teens 16 tomorrow am.   It's exciting!
My wife had some good neighbors that put on a baby shower for us.   Boy the generosity is so great.  Between cloths and diapers and food we are in a good place for a few more months.
My eight year old and I had a serous talk about honor again. ( caught him telling me a lie or two this weekend)  it's odd how fast the mental state changes when you wake them up in the middle of sleep to discuss things of importance.   Less of a busy mind and more room for calm thoughts.   Anyway I think he understands a little better then our previous talks

Being Sunday it was shower time for the twins.  It's less pain for me to shower them instead of lean over a tub on my knees.   Today I noticed they are growing!!   Little pot bellies and arms that are now larger then my feet.  They can grip my finger and hold on for dear life when that water first hits.   Other then that it was nice to see progress.  Size does matter!!

Wow this is not helpful with out pictures. Excuse me:)

It's a eight gallon tank I'll get more measurements tomorrow.

Hand Tools, Power Tools, Welders, etc / Air compressor help with storage
« on: October 04, 2015, 10:40:45 PM »
I awhile ago got hosed in a air compressor deal. Went from the vertical that I wanted and got stuck with 20 gallons more then I wanted in a horizontal fashion

Garage space is super tight and I want to build a shelf/work bench with a hinge so I can swing it up to move the compressor out.

I ask for ideas with the wheels, I think they are to high but not useful high.   The tank is to low to put stuff under it.
I don't have access to a welder or I would weld castors on.

Thoughts? Ideas? Could I strap this big tank to the wall and make it a vertical?

My boys have grown to love the sound of a vacuum.  I put them down and needed to clean the carpet.  They slept right through it.  In the same room!

Good morning boys.  You all got busy with the beard talk

I like my beard.  The 15 Daughter said I should grow the no shave November thing.  I laughed and said real men grow beards when they want not waiting for some hipster to tell me to. So now it's been a few months.  Every time the wife asks me when I am going to clean it up I add a few weeks of growth

The boys, I still have control of my army,  Yes indeed.
I started to adjust my sleep to being up till 2ish so my wife can sleep a bit more consistently and I'll sleep in the morning.  It's working well so far.
I picked up a new hobby last week or so.  Rc cars been building this in my spare time in the wee hours of the night
Keeps me less stressed

Well week had been successful.  Both boys are a inch longer then birth 19.5 inches.  And both gaining weight    My arms are getting tired

The other excitement this week was my eight year old lied for a older boy in the neighbor hood and blamed one of his other friends for stealing candy from a little girls house.

Yes they went into the house, took the little girls candy, ate it then blamed it on the other little kid.  I think there was five of them total involved.   When the Dax asked where the candy went my boy lied  about it.    The dad discovered the truth and talked to me.
In repentance the boy got to work the spray booth with me for the weekend and earn $ to pay for new treats for the little girls.   And then of course the formal apology to the offending parties

How do you explain honor to a youth? I know you show them with time but that's not helping me at the very moment?

Today I found time to fix the hole left in my hvac system from the removal of my ltz center console,
I had some clear plexiglass from another project.  I traced the shape and the weapon of choice was the air saw, the downside is the speed of the saw.  It melted the plastic more then a cutting action but a the disk sander cleaned it up ok.  Add a little double sided sticky tape and whalla!

I previously converted the truck to a six passenger to save me from another vehicle in the drive and a possible car payment.  I found that the jump seats from 2000-2013 are a direct fit. No mods required and the dash parts are pretty easy to find on line or junk yards. I  have yet to figure out my power issue from my  12V power that is under the jump seat and the two factory power sources in the dash.  Another day I assume

I think in the past I would cook it in the oven or the crockpot until it reaches that temp of 165 then pull it out. What I was forgetting was that meat continues to raise in temp and continues to cook after removed from the oven.  So now I pull mine at 145 and let it stand then I check its temp before cutting into it.  Usually pretty consistent with it now.

I guess I can chime in with my pork loin that I did tonight,

Served with green beans and some pasta,    The pork is the treat I tell you what

First you make a dressing of thyme, olive oil, Fresh  garlic,  some salt and some of the other smell good things that perky nose from the cabinet of deliciousness,
Preheat he oven to 500. Rub your pork with the paste like sauce.  Place in cooking pan of choice and let sit till oven is ready.
Sauce pan now.  Scoop some of your favorite jelly preserve. ( we have grape welches for the kids) about four big soup spoons.  Add four table spoons of red wine vinegar to the mix.   Now it calls for shallots but I never have any and this is where I open bottles and sniff them to see what smells good to me.
Add a bit of this a bit of that and place all in the suace pan and heat it up.  Be careful it's a lot of sugar in there and that can burn nasty messy into a pan.  Now.  Place pork in oven for six min then remove and pour on your sauce pan and turn over your pork, Save enough sauce for round two and some to go in a dish on the table.  Back in the oven till  it reaches 150 inside temp then remove and add more sauce, let stand then slice and serve.

I'll start a sort of build thread on this.  From the top. Me and the wife wanted twins. Figured it would be good to kill two birds with one stone, sure enough we were blessed with twin boys that came eight weeks early. Three weeks in the nicu and they have been home for two weeks now.

I am going to be the stay at home dad for the next few years as can be a full time student also.  While the wife is fortunate enough to be doing really well at work.

Yesterday was my first adventure solo with the kids. I would say it was successful and left me feeling accomplished.
