Continued the search for a 4 door truck for our expanding family. Almost pulled the trigger on a half ton GMC with the 5.3 but am really struggling with the thought of not having a HD truck available to me. Yesterday I had 1,800lbs of hardwood flooring in the back of my LB7. I couldn't have done that in a 1500.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I sold my LMM February and got into a F150.  I am currently looking for a 2500 with a 6.0.  Drove one Monday and have 3 of them I plan to check out tonight.  Mostly I don't like the Ford but there have been a few occasions now where a 2500 would have been nice.  I test drove a 2015 1500 Silverado last night also.  If none of these 2500 work out I will probably start looking at a 2014+.  I need the crew cab but also want the 6.5' bed.  Found out last night that GM has stop sale on the 2014s.  They were all pulled off the lots.  Should be back out in a few weeks I was told.

Don't hold your breath too long on the "stop sales" I've been waiting for 3 weeks + to get some units fixed from my inventory and my GM store says "no fix, no parts, no end in sight" they usually reserve parts for customers first then do our inventory. But I can tell you GM is infamous for taking forever for a fix- see Airbag recalls 2007-2010 Silverado/Tahoe/suburban.....still no fix. recalls been out for a year.

Matt, i sent you a pm

so just a recommendation for yah mike, and others if they want it.....

in future sight adjustments. say your doing groups of three (it makes it easier to keep track of on the target) after every three rounds, triangulate (with a sharpie)your three shots and place a 1, 2, 3, 4, etc to correspond with which shot group it was.  you should not make any adjustments until you have had at least 3 shot groups (9 rounds). by doing this, you will be able to get a better understanding of what your gun/sight is doing as well as if you are following the 4 basic fundamentals of marksmanship (steady position, aiming, breath control and trigger squeeze).

Just thinking out loud here.......

Maybe heavier duty tires....

Maybe an extra helper spring or 2........

3500 i believe has a long bed option.........

Maybe different gearing.........

Maybe different programing on the different control modules. .......

Over the years, I have gravitated to building everything with screws. They provide so much more clamping force for operations such as gluing these panels to the structure. Really, the glue does all the holding, but the screws provide for a good clamp/bond, then always a great backup to just hold by themselves.

But I think I'll nail the trusses to the top band with ring shanked stainless 3" nails with my pneumatic nailer.
Off to Tractor Supply Company (I'm their biggest buyer :-) to pick up a new gate. That old 10 or 12 footer is not cutting the mustard. (Why would anyone want to cut mustard anyway??) I'm opting for two new treated posts, some black stain, and a brandly new 16' heavy equipment friendly gate.

did you bump your head this morning don?.......this is like saying "military intelligence" is smart..........

I just hope they do their job when I nail them up in place

Just remember that your 2 outside ones dont get the additional pieces of wood, use the metal pieces in their places.

well I got skunked all weekend!

never even got out on the ocean, cause the water just couldn't lay down enough for a 26 footer deep V hull alumaweld boat.

and I only caught 1 rainbow on the lake that was thrown back because no body else caught anything and I was not going to waste time and effort on 1 rainbow.

The foot didnt make me flip, he had his merc 250 wide open and litteraly cut it as hard as he could and sent me flying like a trebuchet shot.

I probably wont fry the rainbow, to greasy, will see if i can find a recipe for maybe smoking it........
