Interesting Beretta 92F and Glock 17 comparo
« on: June 20, 2015, 11:27:56 AM »
Couple of guys here doing their own torture test of two popular pistols, the Glock 17 and the Beretta 92F
I carry both of these brands. I have a 3,000+ round 92F and a favorite G19. I carried both in combat zones, and liked both, and still do.
Seems the elements have reduced both weapons to a common failure state.
BTW, My 92F has NEVER failed, Never. I did get a failure to feed and no lock-back when empty malfunction on the G19. My other glocks, G21, G30, and G23 have never malfunctioned

That whole thing got me to thikin'

So I went down to the gun shop. My wife carries a M&P9C and she constantly complains of it being too heavy. It's a 12 round double stacker.

Well, wouldn't you know it, they now make a single stack 9mm compact with 8 round capability, so I bought one!

No range time yet, but the pretty lady liked it, and it's now in her handbag!

I assume you bought the M&P shield. I have it in 40 and like it. It has fired everything I've run through it with no problems so far. I carry it IWB some when I'm driving a lot. I usually forget it's there and almost went in to get on helicopter to fly to work with it a few times.

Edit: just looked at what you fell in love with and realized I assumed correctly.

I've told you about the Shield before, in either 9 or 40. They are nice, I've popped off a few from the 40 at a local gun range that has one for rent. It's surprisingly accurate for a SHORT barrel and doesn't have much recoil, at least that I noticed.

So funny Segway here. Last night I was at a buddies house for a resident (medical type) graduation party. He has a nice salt water pool.... Long story short, in the finest higher caliber fashion, I introduced some clothed female individuals to the pool after they found it applicable to ambush me with super soakers. Well, I then ended up jumping in the pool right behind them. (No place to secure my weapon, G19 duh, so I kept it on) My buddy Dane says, let's go see if it fires! So we walked down to his fresh pushed range, I drew and put sixteen rounds, rapid fire in to what was left of our smoked hog carcass without hiccup...

Of course I was shooting quality SD ammo and not rough cased surplus.

Why must everyone, well it seems like almost everyone, who feels the need to make a video like that, be tact'd out for no reason? The results won't be skewed one way or the other if you aren't rocking a chest rig, tac boots, drop leg holster, single point sling and et al.

This guy-- I'm this guy!

Just to keep it off topic-

It's like when you walk out of the shower trailer and the wood pecker starts doing its thing and next thing you know you're rockin a 240 position in your PT shorts and your buddies kit and someone's Kevlar that kinda fits. Kicking brass out of your shower shoes... And people start yelling "GET SOME MF'er" then the XO comes up to yell at you bc you don't have your PT belt on, then your crusty PSG tells said XO to get his dumb arse back to the coc. Then he relieves you so you can go get your appropriate war fighter gear on... (Or was that just how it seemed to go down for me??)
