Bring a back belt: if SHTF, you?ll be needing to move fat assed adults on scooters who?s only malady is having a fork and spoon stuck in their hands 24/7, outta your way!  Never seen so many in one place in my life!

No go for sure on the blade - mine was confiscated in line on a ride after slipping through most of the day before then. They did hold it for me at security outside the park at the end of my visit.  I?d have been better off if they held my wallet instead!

Made the cold trip to Cincinnati Ohio. Staying with my wifes cousin. Her worthless husband left her earlier this year. We all think she's better off but its still a rough one for her. As luck would have it the window in her explorer quit working when she pulled in. I got the door apart to find a broken cable. I cut the rest and got the window up. Taped it shut for her. Shes trading it off next week when her new car is ready. Its a done deal so no point in putting any money in it. Delership is just going to sent it to the auction anyway.  After coffee I will fix the leaking toilet and whatever else needs done around here.

FYI them hidaway beds are not for adults. You know the ones that fold out of a couch. Yea they really suck. Sending the wife to wally world to get an air mattress.

Yesterday it was -14 or something. I decided it was a good day to work outside. Got lots of fence fixed and hauled more corn to the house for the furnace. Then more drywall.... exciting huh?

Today I am supposed to be wiring my shop in town, but at the moment I am stuck at home with business calls.

Looking at a John Deere 4410 with front loader, pallet forks, backhoe and bush hog for about 15500. We?ll see how it looks, needs a new seat and a good, but they aren?t really critical. He?s also got a diesel 6x4 Gator for sale for about 5500. They are moving off their farm and getting rid of what they had.

That?s close to what mine is rated at. There were a few times I wish I had more. But for 90% of the stuff it?s been fine.

When I was looking at CUTs last summer I think the 4410 was creeping to the top of the list.  I thought there were two options for the loader those got.  One was significantly better then the other.

Hit one of the flea markets in London Ky this afternoon. Found a vendor with all military surplus stuff. BDUs, packs, sleeping bags etc. Most everything looked worn out. Picked up a mess kit and few of theses TOTM meals. 5 bucks apiece. I don't plan on ever having to eat one I just wanted to throw one in my pack for day hikes and such. Just in case.

This weekend was Kentucky's free kids deer hunt weekend. My wifes uncle took Zane and I out. We hiked a couple miles through the timber. Seen a few but got skunked and I found out just how out of shape I really am. If we stayed out longer he could have gotten one I'm sure of it but we only had a few hours. Zane had a blast and learned a lot about being quiet and following a game trail.

Neither am I, but commissary sells them, and another brand, neither are the issue type. Seems everything is the same, just different labeling. They all eat and process the same for what it?s worth, and hot sauce will make any of em edible!

We are going to move my mother in law to Nebraska this coming summer. So We had a meeting with the neighbors here in Kentucky about buying the house. They have a son that just got married and want to fix it up for them. They are loggers and he is coming to work the family business.

The house is shot. But it sits on one full acre with a chain link fence all around and good out buildings. There are no empty houses around this area. There is a fire bug here that burns them all down. If we don't sell it that is exactly what will happen.
We considered just leaving it but by the time we could afford to do anything we would have to doze the whole lot and start over. We want a piece of ground here to live on part time when I "retire".

Well I'm back at the grind again.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and new year.

We were cold.
Went to cabin on 22nd, may have been the warmest day until New Year's Eve.
It was -30.
We started to think out thermometer was broken.
It sat around -36 to -40 until New Year's Eve.
That kind of cold.
And man did I burn a lot of wood...

Found out my truck needs batteries, didn't even click at -35, that's no beuno in my world.
They're on winter five if memory serves me correctly, so they have served me well.
My battery test is it at least has to try at -40, however it should start. (Not plugged in)
Don't like to do it, but sometimes have to, so there is where my bar is set.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.
Sam

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We are going to sell it in June when we come down to move her. Just have to agree on price and payment method. They asked if we could do land contract. At least half down and monthly payments. I'm leery of that but these are good people. Life long friends of my wifes family. Most importantly I know they have the money.  He explained they need to keep an open account to buy timber to log and don't want to take out a loan.  I know how that is.
County accessor valued the property at 30k. That was 10 years ago before the house really started going to pot. That is our target price. No less than 25. We want them to pay all legal fees. In the case we do a land contract a Kentucky lawyer will have to draw it up. I will then have a 3rd party lawyer review it.
We are going to use the money to purchase and set up a trailer for her on the farm. Already talked to the zoneing committee. Don't have a final go ahead but they said should be no problem as long as we dont start a trailer park.

...so I flipped the axle and put on wider wheels and a couple taller tires that came off the 5th wheel. 6-1/4" of lift. Mucho better.
