I miss the crossover. Our Cub pack folded, and we are getting no recruits.

Down to around 10 Boy scouts now and interest is waning. I think it is sign of the times somewhat too.

Nothing as fun as Dave. Little tiling work. Much more to go and then white grout for all.

Jon congrats to you and your boy.  That’s good stuff right there.

Thanks guys. Certainly glad I’m doing this part myself as no one’s going to pay attention to the details.

Also getting the new switches LED under cabinet lights wired up as I go.
The builder hard wires halogen fixtures under the cabinets which meant you had to reach under and switch on each fixture and each section of cabinets had 2-3 each.

Now like a normal adult you hit a light switch in the wall and it lights up.

Almost got screwed on EBay. Looking for a light tower and bid on one with a 1021.01 bid. Well ebay added .00, so I was bidding over 102K!!!

Thought I was out, get an email I won the auction, what? Final price was $3400.00 to me, ouch. bidadoo/seller was cool and let me cancel.

Still want a light for this build, but not at 3K+.

Call local equipment rental places and see if they have an old one they are taking out of service for sale.  Places like United would probably be high but a local shop might have something.  Also local equipment auctions. My company buys our equipment pre- worn out, I mean used.

Report the high fuel prices you are seeing.

Not me, but Duane who just refueled in Cleveland paid $4.85 a gal for diesel

Concerned, I have to drive over to near Charlotte, NC to pick up that trailer next week. Luckily there is a Costco right off the exit on US40. I can easily drive the 500+ miles from here on a single tank, then refuel there and probably be able to make it home again without refueling.

We are $4.50 avg around today as we drove to get the wife’s new car

2015 Buick Enclave, 53 k miles, pearl color with a sort of tan cinnamon color interior.   Fully optioned for $26k all said and done.

I’ll post a picture when the weather here gets better

We couldn’t pass the price being I know the owner who traded it in ( Browning arms engineer/salesmen) I dated his daughter here and there.
Sold it to me for auction price and that’s hard to pass

Ug, I searched and found diesel for $5.59 here. Mostly right at $5.99, 19 gal for $100 hurts!

Seemed to go up almost $1 overnight.

I hate getting diesel in Ca. Besides out inflated prices and taxes.

Normal routein is going to Reno and putting $100 in at costco. Filling cans when needed is another swipe with the $100 limit (works well in this time, right?)

Run more errands (never seems to stop) and run up to the Ridge. Then I top off leaving town, getting close to the $100 again.

Normally this will get me through to the next trip up, but hasn't worked for a few trips now with scouts and equip issues.

That's very tasteful!

Question: Down there in the Texas, when looking in the upscale homes, is it preferred to have the cabinets all of a uniform height?

Reason I ask, is around here the opposite is true. They even vary the depth. Seems like they are reaching to get dimension wherever they can. Makes for pretty shadows in the evening though

and, finally, Viking range?

When we did the cabinets we did plenty of both types in all types of homes,
Personally would rather all the way to the ceiling with glass upper doors

$100 limit - is that a bank limitation maybe? Do you not use the Costco credit card? Mine went to $130+ the other day.

Typically the $100 limit only applies to debit transactions. If you push “no” or whatever the terminal says when it asks for your debit pin, it will normally default out to a credit transaction and there is either no limit or at least higher. YMMV

I use debit all the time, probably why. Same card, same account would be nice to get more!

Heck, may cars have a 20 gallon tank, imagine a g note not filling that up.

I think it varies Don.  Newer homes are trying to be more streamlined and modern looking. This builder was a little schizophrenic I think and the home was more craftsman on the outside but he had some very traditional touches on the inside.  We’ve tried to remove as much of those as possible.  The appliances are GE Monogram.  Second home we’ve had with them and have been pleased.  Very little issues in 13 years.

I don’t have one bad thing to say about the platform other then I want a turbo version lol
Our first one saved my wife’s live hands down no argument, T boned four years ago by a man running a red light at 40+ mph.   She walked away with some bruises.

They are a good solid old platform v6 proven all wheel drive and fit the needs

Still would like better mpg but for the small trans it works

I was stupid and went with the 4 cyl turbo Equinox. back in 2018.
I hope they've fixed the issues, but frozen intercooler amongst other problems.

So, nice rig, not sure you really do 'want' the turbo version.

Also other mfgs have turbo issues on gassers, so I'm not sold now, at least on my piece...

Sold my excavator today.

Purchased it, used it for years, albeit, not very much. But it cleared one pond and mucked that out. It cleared tons of trees out while I improved the land. It also dug the pond

And even with the repairs and the full service I sold it for thousands and thousands over what I had in it.

This stuff is like gold in this market.

Yes

Would like something in the 80 range. Fav is the Kubota KX-80 brand new with aux high flow to the boom for a mulcher head and a thumb along with a couple of buckets

I like a bunch of machines in that range Sany is at the top, but the Yanmar and the Bobcat are great as well

I think I am in the $90-$100 range without the head. Add another $30 for that

But that can produce $1,000-$1500 a day profit

Couple issues with the Lambda platform… (at least with the 2011 Acadia we had)

Steering rack
Head leaks oil into the spark plug tubes

They don’t get the best fuel mileage from a V6 (do any of them??) and I agree a turbo would’ve been amazing. Other than those things it was a nice rig. Yours is even nicer I’m sure cuz it’s a Buick :)

My understanding is the trans, rack issues got fixed in 2012, the steering in this one feels lots smoother, trans is yet to be seen. I replaced one in our last traverse.

I think a turbo v6 would do wonders in this platform.  They are kinda heavy and a little power multiplayer would go along ways I think

I hear good things about Yanmer and and I like my bobcat. Parts all over for both.

Finding my Cat has little after market support like those, but still digging.
