Looks nice Ken. At first glance I thought you might be working on burying some bodies in the desert.

Dave my camera in my phone isn't working. I'll get some of the other folks to send me some.

Been busy this past week, we have been sleeping in the new house and moving belongings from the old house. It's slow going, but good, as I bring a load in my wife has time to locate and relocate items before the next load arrives and the process repeats. Ran into a few issues, a toilet had apparently been leaking for a while so i had to tear out the drywall and clean up some mold that had managed to develop. Cleaned it up and now I'm waiting for every trace of moisture to be gone before I replace the insulation and redo the drywall. Other than that, it's been nice waking up to the sound of nothing but nature(and ten kids).  Seen a bunch of turkey and deer and I'll be hunting me some raccoons soon.   I'll attach a few pictures of the place to prove it is real.
The first two are a couple of my mild remediation work, then one of my blazer and the minivan in the garage and another view of the garage and finally one of the boys bunks in their room. I'll put some more up of the house later.

Glad to hear everyone is safe from the storms that have been ravaging the Texas and Louisiana area.

JR I could let it go, had I had it started, I came clean, must stay now...

I'm in amazement. We've spent the past two hours trying to find anything open, nada on Wally mart, nada on any drug stores...
Found pit stick and toothbrush so I'm good for another day...

Smoke is thick here on the front range today. It was clear yesterday but guessing we have a couple mile visibility today. Would say this is the worst day I have encountered since moving out west here a couple years ago.

Today.   Unload table saw, compound miter saw, and other assorted tools from the trailer and reorg in the shop. ( I finally got my tools back from my dad in prep for the casita build).  Unloaded a trailer full of oak and split it and piled it up by the wood pile. Box bladed the drive to get the ruts out from the rain we had.  Unloaded barrels of fuel to the shop.  Sharpened the blades on the mower and added a pre filter to the air filter and topped off the drive oil.  then mowed the yard and a few trails.  Then cleaned the mower and then rotated the wheels on the Bus and washed the insides of the wheels while they were off.  Then attacked the windshield with windex as the black flies are as bad as Ive ever seen them.  Shower, laundry, dinner, drink, done.  I'm out.

JR that a few for sure.
That's a heck of a project you're in the middle of there.

Competition started today. I shot well, personal best, and we'll see where it comes out in the wash in a few more days.

JR, looks like some wiring monkey went crazy in your attic, I've seen stuff like that in datacenters before, makes a royal pain to trace anything.

Here's another couple pictures of the garage. It's about 6000 square feet(has two bathrooms in it too), it was a machine shop previously and is attached to the house. I'm going to have to work on getting at least some of the old oil off the floor to keep it from getting tracked in so much.  The. Here is the issue of the raccoon infestation in the attic that I have to take care of. Grrrrr

What are the dimension of the tiles in the bathroom? If they're 9"x9" they're likely asbestos so watch out.

No, 9"x9" tiles in the place. If you mean ceiling, it is all dry walled. I'm more worried about all the raccoon crap above the drywall in the garage at this point.

Starting Hurricane prep.  We are bugging in.  At 79" elevation and 40 miles straight line from the coast just south of savannah, we will ride it out like last time.  Good on generator, bottled water, food, meds, security equipment, fuel for all types of vehicles and equipment.  Clearing up potential flying and or falling debris and taking pics and video of stuff.

These Hurricanes pounding us has a biblical overtone to me

A warning perhaps?

Our score card is not so great as of late:

Millions and millions of murdered babies
Homosexuality now honored
Black lives matter more than anything else
White supremacy (A manufactured lie IMO)
Transvestites...
A man voted "Woman of the year"
ACLU fighting to have child pornography in libraries
and
allowing for sexual relationships between men and boys!!!
Opening our arms to Islam
While
Openly being ashamed of Christianity
Allowing for Slavery to grow once again
Our very government distancing itself from our Lord
Honoring hate over Loving thy neighbor
Turning into a nation of sissies, cowards, and cry babies. Those people do not deserve protection of our police, military, or good men and women

Ya know if God were a man, he'd likely just create a super hurricane and remove the United States and the top five feet of dirt and start over.

Warning?? I think it just may be, but no one is listening, and I'm an old guy, what do i know??

Yea, I guess I'm just dammed angry with what my country has turned into!

Real Men of God take a stand. I for one stand against all that evil. I endorse none of it. Abortion is still murder.
Men marrying men is still wrong and evil
Blacks/whites or anyone singling themselves out as special are wrong
Cow-tailing to any group is cowardly
Islam is evil
Enslaving women is wrong
I won't even go there about the man/boy thing/ Only proper relationship is father/son or mentor like
My nation is Christian. I will not change that at all to make room for some "religion" which is not
Anyone who changes their sex is wrong, and likely mentally ill
Cops are good people, criminals are bad
Sometimes criminals get shot, and that is a good thing
Cops make mistakes sometimes. That does not make them bad.
A family works best when a man leads and a woman helps him. He loves her, and she respects him...and the kids see it!
God is real, Jesus was/is his son, and they are supreme over everything

Have a little Coffeve this morning Don?

Matt, check in when you can. My mom is near Atlanta...haven't talked to her in a while...but that's far enough north hopefully.

Dave, your garage is larger than my business and my house together!! Picks of the machine shop? same question as JR...any machines left behind?

Powdered laundry detergent turned into a paste will help remove the oil. Put it on let it set scrape it off, some of the oil should come up with it. 6000 sqft, buy the cheapest and largest boxes you can find... Costco?

Matt, good luck with Irma, she's measuring up to be meaner than a woman scorned.

The whole garage was the machine shop, all the equipment minus one was removed previously when the shop was bought out a couple years ago. The one remaining machine is a 16 foot long lathe of some sort that the seller will be picking up in the near future. He has his own shop just down the street, he is a son of the late owner, good guy , does contract machining work for the military/government.

6,000sqft?!? That's awesome Dave! Like wyo said, powdered detergent and a brush work pretty well. I'd likely add some dishwashing detergent in that situation.

Got Zane signed up for tiger cubs. First scout camping trip in 2 weeks. One parent is required to go with tiger cubs. Not looking forward to sleeping in a tent for the first time in probably 15 years. I need to find a cot.

be safe Matt. I'll add you and yours to my prayers tonight. This looks like a bad one.

I did see a comment from a hurricane center spokesperson who said its not that rare to have 2 Cat 4/5 hurricanes in the ocean at the same time (Jose is a Cat 4 now, but it does look like its taking a sharper turn North before hitting any islands thank God!) and that they've had 3 at the same time before. I filed this away for my next "chat" with a Global Warming idiot....ha!

My youngest is a webelo 2 and oldest is working on his Boy Scout 2nd class now. 2 year diff, thank GOD next year they will both be together. All the separate trips were killing me, plus I just became an asst. Scout Master and am setting up out next summer trip.

For sleeping, just get the $8 intex mattress at wally. I tried cots and matts, this is the most comfortable. For another $10 you can get the electric inflater or get one with it built in.

Picked this up today. Dad has my Sencon and its for some reason not working.  Figure it be easier to just get a new one.

Went to get the ridgid that Dawg got and they were out of stock.  Settled on the hitachi 21 degree full round head framer nailer.  Slowes had it on sale for $169 today so I picked it up.

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Glad you got the Hitachi... you must have missed my follow up on the Ridgid.

Absolute crap firing 2" ring shanks. Took it back, same thing. Took it back again and got the DeWalt.... no issues at all

TRN, not sure if you're aware but a lot of supply houses if you buy the fasteners they will repair senco nailers for free.
Living in the remote north hoping Ken doesn’t bring H up here any time soon…..

Love nice tools. You did mean Senco though, right? I got their fusion trim mailer and love it. Charged the battery almost a year ago and it still works.

But I must add my HF framing nailer works great. Case melted around it my fire in 06 and HF gave me a new one! Built my garage and about to start the room add on.

Speaking of which I added a 30 inch door yesterday so now I can walk out to the work vs climbing over the roof.

did I miss something? that's not from the new Ford right??
That's from my LB7, the one I need to sell. I'll need to find someone to read balance rates then decide if it'd be better to fix them first or sell it as is. When I replaced all 8 injectors in 2013 I added a nicktane filter head and use 3 micron Donaldson filters, use XDP fuel system treatment at every fill up, and never let it get below 1/2 tank. I never thought these would fail in less than 60k miles.
