That one is an OPT7 brand. I have a couple of them and Dad has had a pair of their pods mounted on his Kawasaki as work lights for 3 years now. So far so good. If you watch them on amazon you can find good deals every once in a while. I bought two 12” bars for $20 each about 6 weeks ago and found the 44”for $40. It’s back up to $125 now though. I figure most of these cheaper light bars are made in the same Chinese factory but at least these are CREE LEDs.

In the garage battling MURPHY who evidently isn't out of town visiting friends!  Changed the one bad glow plug without incident, as well as the fuel filter.  Started the truck and wouldn't you know it, 175 miles until 65mph limit message appears on message center along with SERVICE EMISSION SYSTEM message!

Neighbor brings over his code scanner and it says #6 glow plug fail and a mass air flow sensor code!  Was hoping JB Blast in the air triggered a sensor so took it for a drive after he cleared all the codes.  Get in drive and reset Fuel Filter monitor and the rotten Check Engine light comes back on!  RAT  FARTS!

Waiting for neighbor to return home so I can find out if I get away with changing another glow plug or some far worse prognosis!

Situation report:  As it currently stands, Dmax seems to be healed with no long term effects - time will tell.  Maybe Ken can chime in on my supposition.  I'm thinking that PB Blast I used on the #7 glow plug prior to removal, worked it's way into the cylinder and possible just the fumes through the intake, caused one of the emissions sensors to freak out.  I replaced #6 glow plug since it was on the code reader after I fixed #7 - figured running on 7 working plugs for a couple of weeks caused the next weakest to go.  Seem to recall reading somewhere once that that type of penetrating oil tends to cause sensors to do that; maybe?

Will know when I drive it longer tomorrow, hoping the code fairy stays away!  Did get the fuel filter, external trans filter, and oil n filter changed without further incident.  I will say, the drivers side is WAY more crowed and difficult to work on - of course I was lazy and left the tires on the truck.  Good thing I'm not huge!

Purchase of the Merchant Automotive Glow Plug removal kit, was good insurance against needing it - had I not had it on hand, Murphy would have seen to it that I would have needed it!

Here’s glow plug removal kit - special impact socket extension has 3/4 lug on shaft above the socket which fits glow plug head without swallowing it up.  Total was $60 delivered.

I’ve heard some rumors that they are working on a tool something like that. They were calllijg it an “impact wrench”. And you didn’t even have to have a wrench. I call it black magic.

An impact will break it quicker than you can blink- this allows for adjustment of the air chisel all the way down to a gentle hammer tap while the wrench rotates with firm rotational force avoiding snapping it off!  Developers got tired of employees snapping them off when stuck - cause they used an impact wrench!   An impact hammers on nut using rotation impact - chisel hits down - twisting is steady as your wrist allows!

but seriously, it just sounds like you disturbed the maf and or intake tube/air filter when doing #7...that is, if you did the back one on the passenger side. I doubt the JB would set a MAF code.

Today:  made a fire. Went and picked up my metal roof for the casita. Changes the oil in the LB7, cleaned the shop, marked off a spot for a 40ft high cube container for storage. Cut up a downed hickory tee. Made a new feeder with my youngest daughter. Grilled steaks chicken burgers and cream cheese stuffed jalapeños. Now hanging by the fire with a little Tito’s

I purchased my truck shell back from my buddy who’s kid totaled it his pick up, I dog out the mobile dog hauling case, made a spot for my flat bed cover

Purchased a over the grill billet grill (Lund) for $50 bucks at the dealership than installed the winter grill cover over the top.

Washed both the truck and the new to us 2010 traverse, the replacement for the one my wife wrecked. Picture later.

Took some family photos in the fall leaves with the kids, dogs, grandma and so on.

Just what we need, food here. Darn that looks good as I munch a huge bowl of shrimp/chicken/spinach with alfredo sauce.

PB worked on my GP just fine, now another to do. Anything but compressed air or MAF cleaner will mess up the MAF.

Combine broke down the other day. Oil all over the back if it. Main gear case went out. Got a rental. Found out it would take 5 days to fix. Second major break down in 2 years. No warrinty. Traded it off for a new one. Dealer is going to eat the repair cost because it's a lemon. Got the new one late Friday took for ever to calibrate everything. Now the new one won't talk to the old corn head. Of course now its the weekend so no Deere tech support on Saturday. So here we sit. It rained last night so today would have been out anyway. Becides that I'm going I my granddaughters second birthday party today.
Took the wasted Saturday afternoon and went truck shopping. There is a big taylor and Martin truck auction in South Sioux City every couple months. Looking for one to pull my camper with. Found a couple Freightliner Columbia with condo sleepers on. Decent shape and they don't bring the big money the peterbuilt do. Should be able to pick one up for 10k or less. My boss is mopeing around here with nothing to do after that stroke. I'm going to send him up there to buy for me so we can keep rolling on corn. That will give him something to do.

HOME SWEET HOME!  FINALLY!

Back to life as I like it.
Loaded up skidoo and sleigh and ran a new additional bank of batteries out.
Buddies checked the ice yesterday. 10" already!
Was all open last Saturday. Made a lot of ice fast.

Oh did I mention I'm happy to be home.

Hillary Hillary.

Now that I’ve dropped the bait I’m hoping Kenneth shows up.

My 2001 LB7 odometer and gear selector is not lighting up. I️ don’t think it’s trans related since I️ was able to bang the dash and it lit back up for a while. I removed the cluster thinking there may have been a loose connection but it’s a printed circuit board. It worked briefly after reconnecting.

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

My gauges and instruments work fine, just no lights. They work when jumped so cluster is fine. I think its wiring.

If yours is just the OD and the selector I not working, I would say its the DIC module. If its

Mine was flashing on off, then went dead, everything works but no dash-4x4 lights.

I’m pretty sure it comes in red......

The problem is the uber Big Dana axles, pretty sure that’s what’s still in them. Most don’t need the ultra low gearing (would rather get better mileage) & changing ratios is mucho expensive. Norm & I were discussing this awhile back & I’m sure Tate could chime in on costs.....

Believe JR has an 06 --

JR - if you have dash light issues as well, have you jiggled the dimmer dial? maybe its not making good contact in there. Easy to replace if necessary.

Have a buddy with a Platinum, loves the truck but not 12mpg all the time.

My cluster lights work when jumped, not in there, its the wiring/plugs. Dimmer works fine on other dash lights and I put in a new switch JIC.

Nah. Not a problem. Just throw a 10% taller tire on it. 37s should do the trick
Actually 35 would be fine. Forgot they come with 225/70/19.5

Or just get the f350 which has 3:73 instead of 4:10

Looks straight forward enough.

Today we found out there’s another fentanyl laced batch of heroin in north Alabama. 3 overdose calls in less than 24 hours. Two of them occurred while the offender was driving and one of those guys had a stolen pistol in his lap. Fun times.

Looks straight forward enough.

Today we found out there’s another fentanyl laced batch of heroin in north Alabama. 3 overdose calls in less than 24 hours. Two of them occurred while the offender was driving and one of those guys had a stolen pistol in his lap. Fun times.

I've been waiting for the deer hunt this weekend for several months now, scouting every weekend, and recruiting several friends with high power glass to help. The day has come (tomorrow) and just got a call from my renters that my old house is now a swimming pool. urrrrrrr
Bad timing, but could've been worse (like when I don't have cell service this weekend)

Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
