I somehow walked away from this Winchester Super X2 at Cabela’s. I’m not sure how, but I did it. Functionally its an FN SLP.

My wife wanted to get it for me as a Christmas gift but I’m stuck on this suppressor....for now...

Tomorrow is a new day.

Didn't get the Freightliner. My limit was 10,000. Sold for 10,250. Were still chipping away at the corn. Can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It rained yesterday morning and one of the guys had some stuff to do so we took the day off. Corn is doing better than last year. Plus we have some left over. We are not going to have room for it all. I'm not sure what we are going to do.

It’s no wonder the whole thing leans to one side. Look how the heights on these things vary

So, Red, I came across these

Pretty neat, a one and done operation.

The price is stupid, but I sez to myself, "Self, couldn't you fab up somethin' like that, I sez."

I saw those somewhere.  I don’t have problem soil or frost heave so I spent $24 in concrete and $34 in brackets. Had left over tube form and scrap lumber.

Those are very cool however

We had high winds over the weekend

Camper awning was completely destroyed and the busted metal gouged the camper side. I'm going to have to remove the awning completely and, needing some sort of cover, decided to erect a quickie deck and metal roof. I no longer have room to come in with the big tractor and drill holes which would probably be in the wrong spot anyway, and where I am with that excavation, there is a layer of limestone, maybe 12" down, so drilling holes is a waste of time. I was thinking of experimenting with these steel pipes...whether or not they could be driven through the limestone???

Make for a quick footing for the posts.

Dig to the limestone (shovel & pick ax) & set deck concrete blocks that hold the deck posts. Build a real deck, big & heavy with tin roof. If it’s large enough it won’t go anywhere.

Don did you have your awning secured with secondary tie downs?  I had drilled and attached eye bolts to the arms and then had screw in anchors in the ground and had paracord taut between them. My awning secured that way withstood 40+mph winds.

Sorry to hear your awning went to the big awning heaven in the sky. All the dealers of those things say to bring them in if winds are forecasted. If you want to leave one out while you are gone or sleeping while the wind is blowing, you need to build something that holds up to the winds in your area, metal over a wood framed roof system. You can screw around trying to improve the wind resistance but those things are not made for wind...

I hear ya man, but you know me

Never listens, goes off and does it my own way

Besided, wouldn't you like to see this cool new anchor system. I think its really cool...I wanna try and design my own.

My thoughts are to eliminate the concrete block. Saw some Romanians build one like this. Take a central tube and weld four slightly larger diameter tubes in an arrangement around the circumference which hold and support the steel tubes. Create it with a point at the center/bottom. Find your sweet spot and tap it in to locate it, then work the 4 opposing pipes into planet kintucky, jack-hammering them to home. I'd make it so that you could slip a pipe over the top side which had a receptacle for a 6X6 or a 4X4 post. Drill a hole through both tubes to secure it with a manky bolt (Kintucky thing) then set yer post en and git er done!

Wait till you see me build one and then let me know what you think.

This is gonna be huge...or maybe not so huge...or possibly a disaster, but everyone, including ish will enjoy the process.

Off to find some sturdy boxes to fab and weld this thing together on!

Jon what do you normally sell the corn for?  feed? food production?  Glad you are making progress.

About half for feed and half to an ethanol plant. We are fortunate enough to have a feed lot 3 miles away that buys a lot of it. Then there is a feed mill 12 miles away. But the rest goes ADM and Cargill for ethanol production.

Had a few conference calls today from the hide and then went to town to get some building materials and take the family Wally World. Had a pool builder out to work on an estimate.

Then we ate at the local family owned cafe. My youngest ate a chicken fried steak the size of a platter.

Now relaxing by the fire

Right under the bricks there are a couple junctions. Had one of those "flex" hoses blow up like a balloon there. Took some real care when I fixed that, but something there does not like me!

Spent the last two days in a writing course.
It has reminded me how much I hated English in school.
Glad it's over, into the garage to use my hands for something productive.

Got my blown up ski doo motor coming back together.
Crank in, top end on, heads on, mag side coming together.
I'm too anal about everything. I should be done now, but will still be a few hours.
Has to be surgical clean, measure everything...I know its the right way, but dang, been at this for six hours now and still not done. Tomorrow is another day however, and with renewed zeal it should get done.
I just don't want to wind up missing a digit or limb.  I can sometimes get in a hurry to get results.

Thanks!  I'm starting to get excited.  Windows should be in next week and I just got a new toy.  A Hitachi coil siding nailer and a handheld shear for hardi plank.  Never knew they used those but its like electric metal shears.

Really looking forward to the 40ft high cube shipping container.  The plan is to insulate and panel the inside with plywood, add lights and electrical and a window a/c, divide it in half and add a door in the side.  One half will be storage and one will be my reloading set up and HAM radio station. My reloading set up will finally come home from my bro in laws.

No fire right?
Would it be possible to heat the oil, when your ready to drop your turkey in turn the burner off than sink it in and then light it again?

Oh I washed my dirty max to a now clean max.   Note the new billet grill I paid $50 bucks for at the speakership

Funny you mention reloading setups Tex. Just last night I was comparing the Dillon 550C and XL650. My single stage has been great but now that we have a little one I don’t have that much time to spend in the garage.

I’ve spend the last couple days making room for today’s meals. Happy Thanksgiving y’all.
