Looks about like this today,   I didn’t want to go extravagant with molding and trim,y thought was much like the Jeep bumper, simple, clean and minimalistic, easy to replace or patch.

Anyone find the mistake in the last photo?

The closets are laid out but not built.  Master closet will get a treatment for his and hers stuff.  It should look really good when finished

No mitre

Spend money on things that are not easy upgrades later like showers etc. trim can easily be replaced later.

You put the trim in before the flooring? Is that normal?

I could see that with carpet, but tile or wood would make it more difficult wouldn't it ?

I never dealt much with tile, however wood comes milled to size.

Generally I see wood installed under trim to allow for expansion and contractions

Tate got it,   The new guy has made very few mistakes, but this was a fun one.  The inside corners are square so he left the outside corners square lol

As for the glass being clear,   You would have to be 6.5 feet tall to see anything but your head.   It’s pretty tall

We don’t install trim where the wood or tile goes.   The wood floor floats and needs room to grow on the floor so we will come back and install baseboard around those areas later.  Painter comes back and sprays it. Fast and simple.

That is the mud room,  the wall  to the back is 87 inches, the one coming towards is 77 to leave room for switches

It has enough space to dump all those things kids dump and enough for dad who is just as bad

Not that if I took photos it would show anything, but the House is 90% primed, garage is getting finish mud and textured ceiling also.
Need to finish up those projects so I can grind concrete, acid stain and clear coat the floor

We are not on a date yet, I’ll stay I. The current local till the other after purchase mods are finished.

Yes Jr. The garage will get the full treatment, texture, smooth walls and than I will spray our the whole thing in semi gloss white maybe a grey.  Not sure yet

There is one section of the garage that will not get a texture lid,   Over mommas garage door.   I have no physical way to get the scaffolding around the door and opener frames.  I will finish that after the loft is installed.

Personally, I would not texture a garage, but I like the idea of grey. White would reflect light better.

I would love a big/tall garage door.

I have had all of mine textured to date and didn’t have a issue.  Easier to hide holes.   I even thought about doing a Holley smooth on the walls

Why would you not texture Jr?

You mean like dust and so forth?   I guess if I was Doing a bunch of fab and so forth in the garage I could for sure see that.  A lot of you guys are far better equipped for that kind of stuff than I am at this point in time.

Little late, but your mention of the garage door opener in the way -- I would have put in jackshaft openers on the two doors. Gets that darn motor out of the center of the garage where you might be wielding a 2x4, etc around and hit the thing. And yeah -- not sure texturing is the best idea in a garage - will hold onto dirt/sawdust/grease.

I am putting a loft above the small door so the vertical door won’t work so well.  The large door sits on the ceiling pretty close now.
Plenty of space in the back of the garage (30feet) for activities

Jackshafts work great. I have 1 on the big door but have to convert the small door still.

Jackshaft doesn't mean you have to have a vertical door like most of the large commercial doors.

I I don’t see the major benefits of it?  When I build the loft I have 7.6 feet of room to top of garage requirements. I’ll just re mount the stuff to the bottom of the loft and have the space needed

I made sure I had 8ft for mine for plywood and 2x4's. Hated when they got stuck on the ceiling.

The liftmaster 8500 series just needs a few inches to mount.

Walked the house last night and am pissed at the paint completion.  I would have smoother window casing if I glued on 220 sand paper

The lines are straight, the colors I like, the finish is rough rough rough.  Walking through today with the paint sub contractor.  See how that goes

Got our kid bathroom tub surrounds installed. Only chipped my tub in the process and forgot to install the 4 shelves we asked for and is clearly stated on the bid.

WTH is wrong with people these days

The logic was avoid cleaning issues with the youth, grout is hard to keep clean with kids.   This is similar to Corian countertops, cultured marble,  smooth, only joints are caulk in the corners.
